  • 5`4 wanting to lose about 15 more lbs. I've lost 7 lbs this year and have plateaued since Sept. I eat between 1500 and 1800 plus burn on average of 500 calories a day doing p90x and Insanity. I net between 1050 and 1400 a day. Will be trying to get myself down to 1300 so I can net between 800 and 1000 calories a day to see…
  • My daily tea with milk and sugar. Sugar substitute, honey, agave, etc just isn't the same as white sugar. Peanut butter although I mostly now have natural peanut butter instead of kraft light. As for mayo, I have not tried the olive oil mayo but I do like hellman's mayo light. I need some mayo with my tuna or egg salad.
  • It's hard to be patient hmm? I've been up and down 2lbs since September and it took me from May to Sept to lose 8 lbs. I just have around 13 to go. And that's 15lb higher than I was when I got married. I'll not give up because the healthy lifestyle is what I'm in for life. I do once in awhile fit cookies, slice of pie into…
  • I've tried the first work out ones that came out with Kinect. They are fine but I think I prefer to dance along with Dance Central. It's fun and you can get carried away and be on it for an hour and a half to two hours. So far I've enjoyed just regular exercise DVDs versus Kinect work outs. I"m going to try out UFC trainer…
  • BMR isn't what your maintenance amount of calories are. 1690 is... if your BMR is calculated right. If you ate 1440 you will lose half a pound a week which is great since you are near goal. Don't eat lower than BMR.
  • Maybe mix with whatever variety of veggies you like, some whole wheat pasta and some olive oil.
  • You should eat 1540 to 1640 on non exercise days. Since your maintenance is 2000, you still have close to 400 to 500 deficit meaning you would lose a pound a week around. And with the calculations, you don't want to see more than 540 in green when you exercise, so you would have to eat back exercise calories. There are…
  • I never cared much for it plain, I'd rather have the regular peanut butter. BUT it's great mixed into things! As for the chocolate kind, might as well use cocoa powder and mix it with the regular pb2..
  • I think every few weeks I have a day like that. Had the worst day on sunday by being over by 2600...And it was by having a homemade brunch(two eggs, two toast, two bacon and a small paleo pancake with a couple tbsp sour cream/banana/brown sugar mixture and homemade spaghetti for supper with plain sauce, four small…
  • Can you not just enjoy something sweet now and again so that the diet doesn't feel so restrictive and therefore you don't feel deprived? What about protein shakes with fruit. Or dark chocolate and dates? You may find that if you have something like this occasionally, the super strong cravings go away.
  • I think I try to aim for a 500 deficit. But I do have my 250 days. Sooo, right now I average somewhere in between. I'd like to be more consistant at a 500 - 700 deficit. I'll work on that. I've just been hungrier since starting insanity and p90x before that.
  • Since you also said you started working out...this can cause added hunger. Every time I change my workout program, I feel extra hungry for a week.
  • I use resistance bands instead of doing pull ups. I couldn't do push ups on my toes at first but now I can. I did them on my knees. Make sure you are doing them in proper form and you dont' have to get your nose to the ground. Just a bit of bend in your elbows and then try to go deeper as you get better. The other workouts…
  • I"m 45, 5`4, 149lb female and the strength training days burn between 350 to 450 and cardio days 400 to 650 as per my HRM. Just to give some idea. Yoga X was between 250 and 350.
  • No, I didn't think that I gained that in fat. But it sure makes the water weight fluctuate having a higher calorie day. I was over 1800 higher in sodium yesterday. Today I'm having lots of water plus a protein shake for breakfast, one for lunch and then a normal light dinner. A higher calorie day never sets me into that…
  • Maybe that is the case with some people. For me, it seems like if I just lower my calories and don't work out, I have better success. Working out hard doesn't seem to be effective. But I like the fit part so I keep trying...
  • Depends on what your goal with MFP is set at. If it's already set to lose 2 lbs, then eat back exercise calories. Unless you have a large amount of fat to lose, it's not a good idea to lose weight at a fast rate. Set yourself to maintenance level and then use what you burn with exercise to create the deficit to lose fat.…
  • 1.5 lbs lost but..... A few weeks ago I gained a couple pounds(when I went over maintenance by a couple hundred calories) and haven't logged my weight since then because I won't until I get below the weight that is entered on this site. Yesterday I was .5 lbs away from that number which means I lost 1.5 in the week. The…
  • Find a shorter yoga like Tony Horton's One on One Fountain of Youth. Or do the first half hour of Yoga X and skip to the balancing poses. Finish from there. Or do the first 45 and the last 15. Change what you do each time with that workout. I have found alot more flexibility from doing yoga plus I am better at balancing. I…
  • I do the p90x weight workouts and for the cardio, I mix it up. Doing Insanity, turbofire, jillian etc. If I do Kenpo, I put on weighted gloves and ankle weights on. Mixing it up keeps things fresh. Some days I would rather throw in a not so intense workout like zumba, turbo jam etc. Those can be more fun when you are just…
  • It is hard to eat lower because you have to ignore the hunger feelings throughout the day. If a person didn't feel that way, losing weight would be much easier. So time to get used to a bit of discomfort, lol.
  • I usually work out 6 days a week, 45 mins to an hour and a half a day. So far I've worked out 9 days in a row and may take my rest day on the 15th day because I had more than the usual days off in the beginning of November. I do p90x and insanity mainly with some turbofire, one on one and p90x+ thrown in. Usually 3 weight…
  • I think why I have trouble losing weight is because I use exercise to create a deficit when I should just be lowering my calorie count and exercising for fitness instead.
  • I know I can create a 900 deficit. Which would I think mean 700 NET calories. My BMR is 1295. I've been consuming between 1500 and 1800 calories and creating my deficit with exercise. I burn on average of 500 calories a day. I should try eating between 1295 and 1650 around. That's why I have to dig deeper, like Sean T…
  • Lost 10 lbs from May to July. Gained 1 lb and have stayed there since. Today I decided I better look at the last 30 days and crunch numbers. My NET has been 1436. I made a bit of a change the last 10 days with a NET of 1294 and will see how that goes for another ten days before I drop it lower. My maintenance is around…
  • I've been netting 1294 for the last 10 days. Been annoyingly hungry because of p90x and Insanity workouts. Sooo I haven't lost anything yet. I guess I need to dig deeper and go lower in my deficits.
  • I suppose since you burn 2900 a week, you could set your calories at about 100 less than maintenance and you should get your 1 pound a week loss. Then you dont' have to worry about eating exercise calories back. Sounds like that might suit you better.
  • Very helpful pics! I'm around 25% and want to go to 18 - 20% with muscle.
  • Try Kenpo with weighted gloves and ankle weights on ;). We gave it our all and got a good burn. Besides, sometimes it's nicer to do a not so intense but fun workout. We did this before our Insanity fit test, silly us.
  • My son and I are doing a kind of hybrid. Strength training days he goes to the gym and I do p90x. Cardio days we do Insanity.
