Kshiz, If you don't mind me asking, what are you eating? Most women have a hard time meating their protein requirements, much less exceeding them. Your body only absorbs around 25g of protein at a time, so you might want to take a look at where you are getting your protein calories from Take care, Ileana

Well, it depends on what "changes" you are referring to. If you have been adding fresh fruit and vegies to your diet, staying away from prossessed, fried and fast food, and uping you intake of water, then you are most likely correct, your new lifestyle hasn't quite translated to your body yet! Just give it time. Once you…

I am a big proponenet for Quinoa as a carb side to anything. i cook it with half water, half low sodium vegetable broth for the flavor. I eat it mixed with lean ground turkey (cooked) or added in a salad! I lived in Bolivia years ago, and believe it or not, i hated the stuff, but it really grew on me... especially after I…

If you go to the diner seatings, you can make a pretty good selection. I never had a problem ordering meals on the healthier side. Many of the items at the seatings will be offered at the buffet as well, so your only caution at the buffet is controling your own temptations to overeat. My husband and I (he actually proposed…

A few months ago, I bought the Weight Watchers Glass Precision Electronic Scale (WW42R) at Costco. It has been the most consistent glass /digital scale I have ever had! Ileana

At the very minimum, I keep a computer on the bike that tracks distance and speed. I don't bother with paying for one that tracks cadence and other stuff. Becasue I know where I want to ride, and how far it is, a simple computer that tells me where I am on the ride (distance) and how long it has taken me, I can figure out…

I love cycling. I have a hard time frinding buddy's to ride with but I love it~ I have completed a 63mile ride, although my standard is about 25 miles. I also love sprint triathlons, which incorporate 2 of my loves (cycling and swimming)... and i tollerate the running! Ileana I have both a road bike and a hybrid, and ride…

Although I am not a 100% Clean Eater. I am pretty close. I cook all my lunches from fresh indredients every week, eat fresh salads and protein each evening. I do supplement my breakfast and one snack per day with a when protein power (which is why I do not claim the 100%). Once you are in the habit of cooking fresh,…

I find that my plateau's are broken when I shake up my fitness routine. like adding a 30 min cardio before work .... or re-assigning my food (IE making sure I didn't eat processed cards at dinner etc). That is what help me ove humps to mose my first 100 lbs.... But I completely understand, these last 35 lbs are tougher…

Hickory, listen to 3BB and CD1986... there are about 100 reasons that could have given you that reading on the scale. I know that when I commited to losing the last of my desired weight 2 months ago, i fluctuated within 2 lbs for the first 6 weeks ( I even did a sprint Triathlon and gained the next day!).. then, two weeks…

For your hamstrings: Get a band (you can get these at Wally World). I like the ones with higher resistance. Tie a loop in the end and slip it around the ball of your foot. Lay the rest of the band on the floor and place it under the opposite foot. Begin doing lifts, pillung the banded foot up, towards your tush. If there…

For your quads (and tushy): grab one water jug with both hands. Step apart so that your feet are wider then your shoulders but not overly extended (this should be comfortable). Hold the jug between your legs and "sit" back as low as you can go, slowly. Repeat to 10 and then rest for 60 seconds. Repeat 2 times (totaling 30)…

A twist on your calf raises (that you are already doing) 1. hold a jug of water in each hand 2. Do 3 sets of thirty as follows stand on the edge and point your toes out (heels in, towards each other) and do 10 lifts point your toes straight and repeat point your toes inward (heels away) and repeat (totaling 30) rest for 60…

Hi VWise, I have a question, that begs an opinion. What is your opinion on cardio AND weight training? Should Cardio be done before or after the weight trainnig, or does it matter? Thx!
-
Your question begs for a very long e-mail. First of all, are you a member in a local gym? If so, the machines that target specific areas would be the first way to approach your goals. If you don't have a gym membership, you can either go to a store and pick up a few hand help weights. If you are new to this, I would…

The best thing is NOT to to re-injure! You will need to stay off your knee if you want the make that certification! Do you swim? that is the best low-impact was to exercise the area and still have resistance on your muscles (even if it is minor). Good luck! Ileana
