I'm with him....I started at 48 and did a half marathon..........then nothing......then I started with C25K last year and found it really hard as you have, but keep going as it will get easier....now I run and enter 10k runs. I am 52 and happy to be a runner!

Well I guess it could be with your diet if it started at the same time, but could also be a coincidence. This article might help. May need to take some omega 3 or dare I say it - fish oil tablets. Vegan diets are quite limiting. http://www.rd.com/health/wellness/3-foods-to-fight-knee-pain-2/

Probably it would be advisable to go to the doctor. I personally have had no problem with my knees though I don't think diet would have much to do with it as lots of people with varied diets also get knee problems, running.

You have done extremely well - carry on!

Big difference - Well done you!

I have a Garmin watch and HRM for outside runs. Also have Adidas miCoach which has a HRM and stride sensor. Adidas has just bought out a bluetooth HRM which may be worth checking out. I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. In the gym I started wearing my HRM but it does not give me anything useful as I am only…

All takeouts are high in calories.......just have an enjoyable night and don't worry too much. If it becomes a habit then its a problem. Maybe do some extra exercise to compensate for the extra calories eaten. One day is not going to do too much harm....worrying about it will.

Hi I'm Trish from New Zealand and don't particularly like running - only the buzz at the end when I have completed the run! Training using miCoach for a 10km run in Sept. I am a vegetarian that eats fish maybe 6 times a year when dining out.

Yes its a short time and I agree with above. Exercise is only a small part even though you feel you have worked hard out.

Tim leaps onto Jingles back and Jingles flies high into the sky.......

Lucky for Tim, Jingles performed the Heimlich maneuver and all was well........until........

It takes a lot of exercise to lose weight and it sounds like you are doing well in that regard. You will need to look at your diet as exercise is only a small part in losing weight.

MS is doing an update for Windows 8 that will address a few issues for running on desktops. I have windows 7 and won't upgrade to 8 in the near future. I did have Vista and had no problem with that at all though not many people liked it. (my Mum has my laptop with Vista now)

I do too, but only mornings....never the afternoon. Try and weigh close to the same time and you will see a pattern - up - down or steady. In maintenance, it can be harder, in a way, to control your weight.

Anyone belong to Albany Fitness? If so, what do you think of them?

An app for driving.....Taken from the Fitbit site from Patrick B. Might be useful for some "I threw together a simple Android app to "record" my drive and log it for me in two taps and thought it might be useful to others: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.littlebytes.android.fitbitdrive It's free and only…

Mine was to either have a bigger set of pants for work or do something about it before I got any bigger. Never going back to that weight again!!

I can't say these cheese bread snacks are low cals but you must try them....yummy! I would make them for a dinner party. I used 3 cheeses - feta, tasty and parmesan. The stronger cheese the better the flavour and so easy to make! http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/easy_brazilian_cheese_bread/ Its not diet food but…

No but I love Special K fruit and nut - its my favourite breakfast though I have to weigh it out otherwise I would pour far too much in a bowl

A challenge for NZ fitbitters.... Anyone interested in a little challenge? How about climbing the worlds tallest building – Burj Khalifa in Dubai at 828 metres. The idea is each kilometre you do is equal to 1 metre of the tower. If you do 100 km’s a week it will take just over 8 weeks. (I don't do this each week, its just…
