Aw, so sad. Well, we're moving on to the news feed, but I still want to acknowledge the house for helping me make my half-way point on my weight loss journey. 100 pounds lost! I really struggled in the beginning, and you guys were there every step of the way to help me out. As with all of life, the more active you get, the…

Great job Sue on your loss! Looks like everyone is doing well. Thanks for the tips, srp2011! I'll try it out. Starting to exercise again. Made my 10k steps yesterday, and have done that today as well. Tried doing the "gatorade" program with their 3 steps of replenishing fluids. All was going well until I hit the 3rd step,…

Hey Everybody! (when I type that, I always hear people shout "Hey Norm!" like they did on Cheers) September is over! And October is here! And it seems we're doing "Healthy October", which I am all behind. September was... difficult, and then I got sick, but as Sue said- posting is everything. I've been able to lose this…

Heh. Just my luck- the week I make Prefect is the week I fall off the planet. :grumble: 20 minutes of exercise is good. Getting that exercise in everyday can be difficult, but even if you're walking around your living room, at least your moving. I did that last night, actually. September is never a good month for me. And…

Had a lot of fun this weekend, and the scale showed a bit but I don't care. Got 3 new pairs of running shoes (2 neutral, 1 trail) since my last pair bit the dust, and boy it makes a difference! I've been aiming of doing 10k steps a day as a minimum, but am having difficulty switching over. Today I'm already there, but I…

Well, that temporary weight ain't coming off. :grumble: Been doing my exercises, eating about 1450 calories (try to do less, but I get so HUNGRY!), and... nada. The scale won't budge, and I don't know what I did to deserve such treatment. It can't be muscle; that's a lot of muscle over the weekend. And, of course, when it…

Morning all! I dropped the ball a bit on the weekend, and the results weren't good. I'm holding off on weighing until tomorrow morning because I just can't believe that number. Sure, I had two high-calorie days, but I also exercised, and didn't eat back all of those calories... so... whatever. Hopefully by being good today…

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE! Did my jog again. Feeling good. Today is expected to be a "high" calorie day. Well, higher than usual. Have a happy hour to go to. My goal is to sample a bit so people don't ask me anything, but not to gorge. I resisted my ultra-love (bread) yesterday, so I feel I'm prepared. Hope everyone…

I did my usual morning walk/jog thing today. I thought I was walking slow, so I included my jogging bits. I even added one going uphill (like a crazy person). Made it in less than 14 minutes! 6 minutes shaved from when I first started. This was also the first time I've ever doubled-over and gasped for breath like I was…

The contracting abs thing works. I don't know about a 6-pack, but you definitely feel the burn after a while. It was one of our challenges before, and it kicked my butt. Plus, it's so easy to do... since we all sit... The 100 crunches aren't bad. I break it up into 50, then 25, then 25. I do it while I watch TV for…

Hi brittlynn8907, I used to have problems with water, but I've pretty much fixed this. I bring 3 bottles of water with me to work. One I drink in the car before I get to work, the next I drink before lunch, and the 3rd I drink as I go home for the day. I also have a cup of tea (herbal, non-caffeinated... basically mint and…

Good challenges, Sue! I just figured out what "planks" were and they suck! I might mix that in this week.

Went on a morning hike with my brother today. Hit my 10,000 step goal before 8:30 this morning. Pretty sweet! I'm going to see if I can make that a habit on weekends.

Okay, same challenges as before. Sounds good!

I have no idea about our challenges. I've just been counting the posts, and I haven't seen anything on the thread. What about some peanut butter? Or nutter butter in general? I'm lactose intolerant, but if I need protein & fat, I did order a butt load of nut butter the other day...

Went for a harder walk today. Great view, about an hour long (although I shaved off some time just by being better than before)... but boy was I RAVENOUS when I came back. Couldn't wait; ate my lunch at 10am. That's a good thing, right?

@Sue I pack carrots, celery, & snap peas to munch on everyday... along with the occasional orange or other weird fruit. Have you tried the chocolate squares (one a day) as a reward yet? Protein smoothies, eh? Guess I better look into that.

Morning everyone. I'm quite exhausted, but I'm hoping to shake it off. I noticed that I'm not eating as much as usual, but am maintaining exercise. I wonder if I'm not eating the calories I need to sustain that energy. Plus, it's hot, so maybe that's throwing me off. Have a great day!
-
Hey everyone! Still getting results for my morning exercises. May not make my goal, but I'll come close. Just need to stay away from the beer.
-
Hey Sue, My mom's a chocolate-holic like you. She bought some Ghiradelli chocolate squares and keeps them in her desk. Each day in the afternoon she eats one. She likes the squares because they have a barcode on them and they're about 100 calories. Maybe that's something you can try? Went swimming and it was a blast. But…

Hi everyone! Finally broke 80 pounds! Yay! Love the dumb bells; they're working great. May try swimming today. Have a great one!

Good morning all! Today is FRIDAY! YAY!!!!! We had a "Health Fair" at work on Wednesday. We got some cheap-o pedometers as an inititiave to walk 50,000 steps a day. I smiled because I already do that. Been doing the jog/walk thing in the morning. It's working great! Each day I get myself to believe I'm…

I don't know what a burpee is, but it sounds terrible. Another day, another workout. Tried to incoporate some jogging into my regular route. I think it helped, and hopefully by the end of the year I can jog the whole thing.

Did a new morning route today. My co-worker & I hit up Torrey Pines State Reserve! It was gorgeous! Right on the beach, with cliffs & trees! Already have my daily goals (10,000 steps, 10 flights) done by 10am. :) Did about 4 miles. We've decided it's a weekly thing. Can't wait!

What's a tricep dip?

Good morning everyone! I am pretty much back where I started, pre-Comic-Con. It's a lot of fun to go, but food options are scarce to none. Gotta watch out for quantity of your healthy snacks. Was planning on hitting zumba again today, we'll see how that goes. Have a great Sunday everyone!
-
Good morning Ravenclaws! It's only 11am and I feel like I've done a lot. Woke up, went to work, walked for 20 minutes, went to zumba, showered... now I'm about to hit the Farmer's Market for the first time. Woot! I've *almost* lost the weight I gained at Comic-Con. Was it worth back-tracking for 2 weeks after 9 days of…

While both my foot & I were asleep, I tried to stand up and ended up standing on my ankle. Now it's tender with roll-outs. I just have to be careful for a while until it heals. Today is a wonderful day! My friend got a promotion, I'm wearing hippie jewelry, and it Friday! Yay!

Figured out the calorie thing. I let MFP translate FitBit, then if it's over 400, then I count it. That'll work. :)

Hello everybody! My buddy Craft338 came and visited me a couple of weeks ago and gave me all the clothes that she's too skinny for... and that I can now fit into. It was a lot of fun not going shopping. :) Anyhoo, I've been wearing them throughout the week and I'm quite happy with them. It changes it up, and gives me…
