OMGosh, I carry a measuring spoon set in my purse at all times in a plastic baggie.

When you think MFP is more important than CNN and change your homepage to MFP and leave the computer on all day so you can log every morsel before forgetting.

I see a dietician at a diabetes clinic also. I've never had diabetes or even been borderline. She has my levels set at 50% carbs, and 25% each for fat & protein. She started me at 1500 calories in October 2011 and now has me at 1200 calories. I generally exceed my protein percentage, particularly if it's a no exercise day.…

Use my George Foreman Grill almost daily. I upgraded from the original one to the one with removable plates. A whole lot easier to clean and you can make so many different things with the other plates.

Another walker here. Was walking 15 miles a day until I got pneumonia in July. Now trying to build back to that level. Today's goal is 17,000 steps and I've been increasing by 1,000 a day since I was able to get back into the groove. Love my fitbit flex. Keeps me motivated.

I agree with all the good info the posters have made. One trick I find that helps me, is to try to preplan my day. I know going to a cookout is hard to prelog since you don't know what foods will be there. My family has learned that I bring my own super lean hamburger or turkey dog along with a wrap to cookouts and throw…

Not my cup of tea. But there is obviously an audience for it, since it made it to another season. Personally I'm watching Master Chef right now and will watch Top Chefs on Bravo afterwards. You can tend to see the nature of the shows I watch. LOL I'm such a foodie. And anything with Chef Gordon Ramsay, I'm definitely…

I've been making them for a while and love them. I just mash them with a potato masher and keep adding banana until it is the consistency of pancake batter. Love 'em!

We need your fitbit link to add you.

In the beginning of my journey, I was way obsessed. My main obsession would be eating too much too early in the day and then be left with little or no calories at night. Then I started preplanning my day and worked in my snacks. Also, now that I am so close to my goal, the obsessions have subsided. I still weigh myself…

My partner sees a psychiatrist and psychologist regularly, like every two weeks. Guess who pays for her health care? I do! I pay $466.00 per month for her COBRA insurance. We're not married because our state doesn't recognize same-sex marriage. But let's just say I was totally out of the picture. She is not on SSI or SSD…

Boy do I have experience in this area. Both for myself and my partner. I went through many years of therapy before I could reach the point that I am at today. I suffered from PTSD from my childhood, I was abused as a child and also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I was physically abused during my first marriage and…

Same goes for me. I'm only 1.8 pounds from my goal weight. We have a family celebration once a month. When I first started, I was so strict on myself. I would starve myself all day and when we went out to eat then I wouldn't eat any bread or dessert. Now I realize, hey it's only once a month for me and I go ahead and eat…

Here's mine for anyone else that wants to add: http://www.fitbit.com/user/25T4NS I have had pneumonia for over 2 weeks so I am just now getting my groove back on and I need encouragement. I was walking 35K per day and just started back today and struggling to get 10K in.

I will never give up my pizza, whether it is order out or made at home with flatbread. Love my pizza! And I don't think it has bothered my weight loss one bit!

Yes it is funny. But if someone asked me if I had a cat (I buy cat food), I'd have to honestly admit that no I do not. However, one of my sisters takes care of a feral cat colony. She has them fixed, have supplied them with shelter, and feeds and waters them daily. She pays for everything out of her pocket. So I buy a huge…

Mine's open to all. And yep I logged that 1500 calorie dessert one day when that was higher than my total daily calorie allowance.

For me personally, it did make me look older. But then again I'm already 58 and started my journey at 290 pounds. All that face bloat left no room for facial wrinkles. Now that I've lost down to 149 pounds, the wrinkles definitely appeared. But that's OK, cause I know I am healthier on the inside and I'm certainly past the…

girl and Congratulations!

I am so thankful for all of my family and friends that understand the lifestyle journey and are always there to offer me positive reinforcements. But if I was having a problem with anyone, I would simply say, No Thanks, I'm trying to reach a certain weight goal this week.

If he is saying that now to you, imagine the things he will be saying after you are married. It's called verbal and emotional abuse. I don't think you or anyone else can possibly live up to a "perfect" image for anyone. There is no such thing as a perfect person on this place we call Earth.

140 pounds = refined sugar an average American eats in a year

Pretty much sums up my feelings too. Once the dispatcher told him to cease following him, he should have followed the order to cease and desist. This story would have had a whole different ending if he had just let the police do their job.

Totally bet you won't be the only one today. It's called living. Tomorrow is a new day!

1. I am truly unhappy in my relationship with my partner. 2. I won an award for typing in high school, typed 125 words per minute. 3. I have one secret that I have only told my therapist and I'll never tell anyone else. 4. I can count on less than 1 hand the number of people that I have been sexually intimate with. 5. I…

Southern style corn pudding, the real stuff, not made with jiffy cornbread mix.
