I call myself a "hydration executive"...I make the office tea/coffee basically. One thing that annoys me is the amount of tea I've ended up drinking in this job because the ladies I work with (and make tea for) are addicts! My boss is the most annoying, I have to copy type letters etc but his hand-writing is APPAULING!…

I'm going to shamelessly plug cough to 5k as well! I'm currently on week 5, I've repeated weeks and days a few times but i love it! and i honestly thought i would NEVER ever in the world enjoy running. I'm coupling it with Jillian Michael's 30 day shred at the moment. I run and do the shred on the same day, tues, thurs and…

THAT is hilarious!!!! Thank you so much for this thread; for the giggling behind my desk, and also because now I know I'm not the only one!! The top bit has gone down since I've been doing 30DS, and the bottom (I call it my pooch lol) is reducing, but very very slowly. I haven't lost any inches off my waist (i've always…

My knees started hurting when I started 30DS too, so I took more rest days and wore a knee brace (£15 from a pharmacy) for about 2 weeks and it really helped. Im on level 3 of 30DS now, and unfortunately as you go on, the impact gets higher. In level 3 there are a lot of jumping exercises, and even the adapted moves have…

Wow I am so sorry to hear that, did you ever find out the cause? was it weight-related? sorry for you loss x

so true!! I posted to get opinions, so thanks for all the replies. I'm definitely not advocating staying overweight and using this as an excuse to do so, though maybe the thread title was a bit inflammatory

I say this to my boyfriend all the time  doesn't work very often though! I think the worst thing to do while in an argument is say nothing at all!! It's infuriating!!

Ah thank you BerryH, I hadn't seen your post before. Apologies for cross-posting. I wasn't suggesting that study should be used to tell people it's ok not to lose weight, obviously if you weight is causing health problems it needs to change! I think it is a nice reminder, however, that even if your weight isn't moving,…

First of all 18lbs is a great loss, congrats! Also, try not to compare yourself to other peoples' losses. Your body is unique to you and your weight loss will be too! I don't know what your goal weight is, but if you want to lose a lot, it is going to take time and patience! Slow and steady definitely wins the…

Hi, I'm on level 3 at the moment, I started off doing it every day but once i started combining running too I decided to just workout every other day, so I go for a run and do the shred 3 times a week. I actually saw more results in body weight and inches lost once I chilled on the exercising a little bit! Rest days are as…

I had someone yell at me the very first day I went out jogging, just as I set out, only about 5 yards from my front door!! It was so demoralising but spurred me on to be honest, made me even more determined. As others have said, you're bettering your own life, we can change our weight, they can't change their…

Hi, I am going through a pretty stressful time at the moment too, and I often wonder whether to give myself a break from mpf and focus on myself. My dad was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent surgery 3 weeks ago to remove it. This was upsetting enough really. Then this week his uncle, who lives about an…

I'm on day 6 of level 2 - I found that by day 10 of level 1 I wasn't so sore anymore, but just as you think you've cracked it, you move up to level 2 and it gets hard again!! I guess this is the point, as you really start to push yourself and it does get results. I found the levels getting easier a few days in, so I…

I've recently just upped my cals (about 2 weeks ago) based on your road map! It makes total sense to me, so thanks a lot for clearing up all my number confusion :) I'm still waiting for some results but slow and steady wins the race!

That's a great result! well done. I'm on about 1700 as well, what kind of work outs did you do? and what time scale are those photos?

Hi, I bought my Grandma a digital photo frame for Christmas a couple of years ago and she absolutely loves it! She has a lot of photos of the family around her house but it's a bungalow so not that large - the digital photo frame lets her see all the photos she enjoys without having to clutter up the house. You don't have…

Thanks, I'm in the UK too so i'll check out those suppliers. I'll definitely give half soy milk/half water a go! Very helpful, thanks :)

Thanks for that link, it gives me a 15% cut as 2095!! I think I need to eat more :blushing: What protein shakes do you use? Do you have to drink them mixed with milk? I'm just not a fan of milk and living with my partner's dairy allergy I pretty much have a no dairy diet so adding that much milk might upset my stomach a…

Hi, I'm 167lbs and been stuck for about 6 weeks now! I'm 5'7 and I would like to reach 140-145lbs, so got about 20-25lbs to lose. I started at 175lbs at the beginning of June, lost 6lbs in the first 4 weeks and been creeping down slowly ever since! that's nearly 8 weeks now, having only lost 2 lbs over the whole time :(…

From what you've said this mole seems to be important to you! I am quite a freckly/moley person and I had a mole removed from my back about 4 years ago; the scar is at least 5 times the size of the original mole, will never tan and so will always stand out. (It's on my back so it doesn't bother me, I don't have to see it!…

I think you are mixing up two separate calculations here - you need to know BMR (basal metabolic rate) and TDEE (total daily energy expenditure). BMR is what your body needs to fuel its basic metabolic function - heart beat, breathing etc if you do NO activity whatsoever that day. TDEE is your BMR PLUS any calories your…
