I think you need to meal plan very carefully and make the best of things that are on offer, but only if they are going to be used and offer a lot for the price! You may well have to make more things from scratch to make your budget stretch further. Also think about bulk buying some things if you have space to store it…

Flaxseed is mostly called linseed in the UK. You should be able to find it in the supermarket near the nuts and raisins etc. Health food shops may work out cheaper if you want larger amounts to grind for your breakfast!
