  • Hi there! I'm 27, also from MA, and my highest weight was 197. :-) I'm at 168 now, aiming for 150! Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • I just re-started Couch 2 5k this week! (I had done it once before, but got hurt in an unrelated way in the middle and couldn't finish.) I'm aiming for a 5k near Memorial Day weekend, so I'm on a bit faster timeline than you. ;-) You could definitely do one in October following the program.
  • Height: 5'6 Current weight: 168 BMI: 27.1 (smack in the middle of the "overweight" category) Current size: ALL over the map. Anywhere from 10 to 14 (though pretty much all my 14s are baggy now, yay!) I really just want to be solidly into the "regular" sizes, a solid 10 would be lovely!
  • My favorite work lunch is a faux taco salad... black bean veggie burger over lettuce using salsa and/or guacamole as dressing. Yum. (Not sure about the gluten factor in veggie burgers, but I would assume there are GF options or you could make your own at home.) I also bring lots of soups. I either make a big batch on the…
  • I take a PNV and am definitely not PG, but my doctor suggested them for any woman of child bearing age as well as for sure taking them for 6-12 months before you try to get pregnant, so it's not always related. :-) I agree with watching sodium. I have low blood pressure too, but my doc has never been concerned with upping…
  • How old were you when you got engaged? 21, MH was 23 How long had you been together before getting engaged? About a year and 9 months, and we had known each other for 2 years prior to that How old were you when you got married? 23, MH was 25 Are you still together? (If so, for how long?) Married for a bit more than 4 years…
  • Yes and no, at least for me. I've always been able to lose weight, but have always had trouble maintaining, mainly because I didn't spend the time losing learning anything about how to eat. I ate a lot of frozen meals and prepacked stuff (100 cal packs), so everything was preportioned for me and I didn't have to figure it…
  • I love this! But yeah, I would remind yourself that you ended it for a reason. Onward and upward!
  • The Bubba burgers in the freezer. Tasty and convenient, but holy fat content, Batman!
  • I'll notice my pants cutting into my belly in a way they didn't the time before, and my hands get really puffy and my rings look and feel tight. No fun at all.
  • Bumping for future reference!
  • I can't take the pills, either, they make me sick to my stomach. Even taking them at night didn't help. I switched to gummy vitamins and I've done much better with those... I just make sure I track them since they are a bit sugary. :-)
  • This one time, at band camp... Seriously, I met MH at band camp for our college marching band. I was in the color guard, he played the sousaphone (the big tuba). We literally ran into each other during a break in rehearsal. We were friends for a few years and then started dating... and the rest is bank-geeky history. :-)
  • I drink regular coffee with one packet of sweetner (stevia at home, Splenda or Equal if I'm getting it out somewhere) and a small amount of skim milk (about a tablespoon) but I like my coffee pretty coffee flavored. :-) One of my friends swears by almond milk, either vanilla or coconut flavored.
  • I alternate between two weekday morning meals: Egg whites (1/4cup from a carton or 2 eggwhites) in the microwave for a minute and a half, topped with LF cheese on a sandwich thin. I usually mix a little Sriracha or seasoned salt in with the eggs. Oatmeal made with 1/3c quick cooking oats, 1/2 a scoop of vanilla protein…
  • I'm a social worker. I oversee/train/manage using a particular type of therapy in a bunch of different residential and community housing programs for adults and adolescents with serious mental illess, as well as doing individual trauma therapy.
  • Hawaii, the Big Island for 5 days and Oahu for 3. Aside from the VERY long flight from the east coast, it was amazing. We got to visit Pearl Harbor on Veterans Day, it was awesome.
  • There seem to be two different ideas in your post... Enjoy in moderation but also "torture" yourself by having little flexibility. I stick to my plan, and my plan includes things I really enjoy eating (chocolate!), just in moderate amounts that fit into my overall nutritional profile. On some level, we all know what we…
