Hey I actually work on food labels for a living! If you're really interested in the rules we have to follow, go to the FDA's website and search for the CFR. It's a really long and complicated set of rules (chapters and chapters) for how to legally label foods in the USA, but if you're really interested it's the place to…

Chocolate! It will give me cravings for days, it's better if I just stay away from it.

I like designer whey, it tastes better. Whey isolate is a good choice if you find one you like.

I make healthy versions of whatever I'm craving.

That is not enough calories, your body is holding on to anything it can because it doesn't think it's getting enough. Try eating closer to 1500-1600. And when you don't eat healthy foods, you tend not to like them. Try adding a veggie with every meal for 2 or 3 weeks and you'll start to crave them, I promise. Your tummy…

If calories in is less than calories out, you will lose weight according to the Dietetics Association. Personally, I just don't feel as well or energetic eating ice cream every day instead of fruits and other whole foods. And when I do eat sweets or "junk foods", even though they're in my caloric range, I notice a…

Have you tried body pump? It's intense. And it's definitely strength training, but there's also cardio moves involved.

Actually I wasn't referencing actual weight gain as in fat, but you do see the scale go up as you gain muscle since fat loss from an increased metabolism generally happens after that, and muscle itself is very dense. Additionally, when muscle is repairing it holds water more readily. You know, that stuff lol.

Hey! Great to see helpful people on here! Ok here it goes.. I've been lifting weights (Body Pump 2x/wk, personal trainer 1/2 hr once/week) and doing cardio either running 1 mile after lifting (sometimes before on PT days) and doing elliptical intervals for 1/2 hour once or twice a week. I also did a Zumba class after body…

Take a probiotic - I recommend Garden of Life, or Vitamin Shoppe brand (not just acidophilus, get the kind with many different ones). I personally don't like products like Activia because, even though they have probiotics you can get a much higher dose using an actual supplement without all of the chemical additives in the…

I went vegan recently, and I really find that cutting out the meat substitutes (you know - the artificial burgers and stuff) helped me achieve my protein goals much easier, along with other nutrients by leaving room for more nutrient-dense foods. As for greens lol, I LOVE sautéed kale with a little salt and pepper. Load up…

Try out eatcleandiet.com, I LOVE the recipes there, and Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet Cookbook. Even if you're not eating clean, the recipes are AWESOME and the meals are mostly low in calories and fat. I love the oatmeal pumpkin muffins :)

I have celiac disease, tested positive, and was aggressively getting sicker before I went gluten free. Allergies and autoimmmunities are no joke. They're finding the prevalence of celiacs and gluten intolerance more often because it's one of the most commonly misdiagnosed things around. I don't think more people have it…

I run 5ks and lift weights every week, and nothing was coming off. I changed my calories from ~1500 to ~1800, and now I'm shedding. You need to eat more since you're exercising so much, or else your body will hang on to the excess fat and lose muscle. Also, check out eatcleandiet.com start eating clean, it WORKS.

I would try 6 meals a day with about 400 calories each. Use a complex carb, like fruits and veggies and whole grains, and a lean protein like eggs, chicken or tofu with every meal. Check out eatcleandiet.com for some awesome healthy recipes. I use a combination of myfitnesspal and that, and get awesome results!

I'm starting tonight! Add me, I definitely need to motivation to stick to it. I need to get over the, "I'm too tired from work" excuse, but I'm totally motivated right now to start after reading all of your posts!
