Welcome. I'm new as well, and from SC. Upstate area, although I don't live there now. All my family is still there though, 'cept for a couple scattered around. Congrats on your graduation!

Amen to that! I have been CRAVING cheese puffs all day, and thanks to this data base, found out I can snack on a few and it won't blow my cals out of the water. :drinker:

Please feel free to read my very first blog entry. Back pain is scary. I ended up on my back and on a catheter last year because of two ruptured discs and a dislocated hip. I now have a very real, and very violent fear of pain. And I got those looks from my boss as well. I was out of work for a month and a half. I still…

Thanks ladies. I want to put the effort into it, because it's costing me more money than I wanted to spend, but darn it, I'm worth it! I also know that if I push through it and actually work out, then while I may hurt at first, the more I do it, the better I will feel. ( I hope!)

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 50 mins each class. For someone who goes from no activity to this kind of activity, what kind of aches and pains can I look forward to? :noway: I'm not complaining, but I want to be prepared if I need ice packs, heating pads and arnica rub lol

What everyone else said. :flowerforyou: I'm new here, but no one deserves to go through that kind of abuse.

Dear Fat, This is the 15th letter I've written. Please go away. Stop following me. It's not fun anymore, and you kinda scare me. I'm going to break bad on your *kitten* now. Signed, Me

Anyone do this? I think with my back injury, this would be ideal for me. Two days a week, 40 min. classes. My local college offers the courses, and I'm thinking of signing up tomorrow.

Mount Diablo is 15 - 20 mins east of San Francisco in Concord, CA. It's beautiful. Hubbs and I loved to visit there when we lived there. You can hike the mountain or ride a trail horse. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=517

Sure it's exercising!! Another good video game to play and exercise with is Dance Dance Revolution on the Playstation 2. It's a fun game and you work up a sweat without even noticing that you're working out!

I was the same with Dr Pepper and Diet Dr Pepper. I've cut down to half a diet dr pepper at lunch and half a reg or diet dr pepper with dinner. Eventually I will wean off of soda completely until I feel that I can have it in moderation without hurting myself (i.e. Caffeine withdrawal headaches.)

I've done some research on Zumba. It's like a high energy latin/salsa workout. I'd love to go to a class but none in my area.

Thanks for this topic, I've been wondering myself!

I'm new as well, but wanted to say Welcome! I'm not from your area, but I would start by looking at local gyms, parks, or even schools.

I'm new as well, but wanted to say Welcome! and just a note (because I hate exercise too) loosing weight through dieting alone is great, but to really tone that flab back up, exercise will work best. That way, you won't have saggy skin!

I'm new as well, but wanted to say Welcome and Congrats on the upcoming wedding!
