Dulse - it's dried red seaweed with a taste of salt, dead leaves and dead fish. Deer burger - tasted like the meat was doused with perfume :frown:

My favourite "lazy Sunday" breakfast is bacon, eggs and oatmeal. First I fry the bacon in the pan until it's crisp, then fry the eggs in the bacon fat. It's super-unhealthy ... but YUMM!

My cat does the same thing! I wonder why some cats are so attracted to plastic. Do you think it's the equivalent to humans who secretly enjoy smelling artificial scents like permanent markers? My cats love to stand directly in front of the computer monitor where they block 75% of the computer screen. I keep an old bedspead…

I've done this :blushing: Usually it's because I forgot to bring my sweatpants but didn't want to drive all the way back home. I saw one guy chatting away on his cell phone in the hot tub. I was just waiting for the "SPLASH-BZZT". Another guy was reading a large novel, holding it about two inches above the water and…

Stuff I smuggle in: light microwave popcorn "fun" cereal in a ziplock bag baby carrots apples nuts or seeds granola bars cup of herbal tea chewing gum mini bottle of wine and a can of beer (only done this once, I was in another city watching the Met opera streaming, and visited the liquor store down the street because…

Quark orange juice fat-free yogurt Low-sodium ketchup Broiled or steamed fish Vinagrette dressings, especially berry-flavoured ones Cooked veggies, especially bell peppers - something about the slimy/crunchy combination grosses me out:noway:

Jim Cuddy - he'll always have a gorgeous smile and an amazing voice :flowerforyou:

I sympathize; I've been doing 12-hour night shifts and it's tough to plan for sleep, let alone meal planning. Unfortunately, late-night calories still count :ohwell: It's really up to you how you want to record your days. I usually consider one day as being from midnight to midnight, but you might find something that works…

It depends on what you enjoy. Personally I don't enjoy team sports, so roller hockey would be anything but fun for me. Some of my "fun" workouts are: Ice-or roller-skating outdoors, provided there's a nice smooth surface hiking and taking lots of pictures kayaking and taking lots of pictures mountain biking on…

Give it a try first. If you enjoy it, than you can decide whether to keep buying it. Personally I like their bread and buy it regularly, but everybody's taste is different. I like the nutty texture and taste. There's no magic food of course, but Ezekiel has pretty good nutritional numbers.

Was it "Wonderful Tonight"? That song is incredibly annoying and you were right to ban it! The only song that could possibly be worse than that is "Layla", which is about Clapton pining for another man's wife!

Tacky, money-seeking "games" will leave a bad taste in a guest's mouth. "Goldfish insurance" had to be the worst thing I've ever seen. I went to an engagement party/fundraiser with my sister. In addition to a silent auction and various paid dances, the tackiest element was something called "goldfish insurance". Someone…

I'm pretty boring. All I have is 2 piercings in each ear.

I've never seen either of those shows, and never claimed to be a savant. What were you saying about stereotypes?

That's a horrible thing to say to say to ANY child. That poor little boy. I know what you mean about sensing kids' future orientation. My sister is a teacher and gets that different vibe from a few students. One day she asked the 6-7 year-olds to call out words beginning with "G". After some kids had listed Ghost,…

Your vital signs fluctuate throughout the day, so a single measurement of these things doesn't tell you much. You and your GP can get a better picture by taking many measurements and averaging them over time. Your heart rate of 64 is within normal limits. You should definitely keep an eye on your blood pressure. One…

My "never-eats" (well very seldom anyways :blushing:) include the following: Calorie-laden drinks including juice, pop, smoothies, milkshakes, syrupy coffee drinks, and alcopops Processed foods with ridiculous amounts of salt (One Mcdonalds bagel sandwich has over 1000mg of sodium :noway:) Candy, milk chocolate, and white…

They usually mention it at some point, and confirm my secret first impression. If they don't mention it, then it's not my business and I stay quiet.

I can't stomach "diet" foods with Sucralose. They cause instant nausea. I also dislike heavy, creamy sauces, especially anything mayonaisse-based

Agree with this^^ You might not feel motivated to work out afterwards, so I'd do it before. If you do decide to work out after a donation, wait a few hours and avoid very intense, heavy exercise. Choose a lighter workout that day and stop if you feel light-headed.

From your post, I gather that one hour and ten minutes passed between your witnessing K's husband leaving with one guy and 3 girls and your witnessing the girls going home alone. My gut feeling is that if K's husband is the chivalrous type, he may well be telling the truth. It takes time to negotiate oneself out of an…

Swimming is good exercise, but it shouldn't be your only exersise. I would vary the workouts a bit, to provide more of a challenge. Doing the same thing every day is only going to lead to limited improvement. Different exercises tire out different muscle groups. (I find that swimming tires out my hands long before my legs…

I asked the same question, and the dentist said gold would actually be mixed into a (harder) alloy. Apparently the real problem is the remaining natural tooth underneath, and the contach with the upper tooth. Fillings and natural teeth can both crack under too much pressure. I will definitely do some research and get a…

For me it was ice skates (in winter) and roller blades (in summer). They made exercise a fun outing instead of a boring chore. I would say invest in anything fitness-related that you really look forward to using. Or, you could try out some different kinds of exercises: dance classes, kayaking, rock climbing - whatever…

I've experienced the same thing at times of very high stress and/or a big change in routine. (My BMI is in the overweight range) Often it's your body re-adjusting to stress, and it's very true that everybody is different and reacts differently. If you're otherwise healthy, I wouldn't worry about it.
