I've focused so much on the scale... I forget to appreciate my NSVs.. So here are mine. Last week I happened to be at a retail store and decided to just try on some boots to see if they would zip up. Guess what??!!! THEY DID!!!!! I have NEVER been able to wear boots that weren't for plus size women! I was able to do 10…

I use the word "journey" because it HAS been a journey... It's taken me 5 years of ups and downs to lose 102lbs. I will continue to "journey" for the rest of my life, even when I hit my goal weight. Journey to me simply means following a path. I will have to stay on this path to weight loss, health, higher level of fitness…

I LOVE that I can now do 10 regular pushups!!!

I'm 44 and have lost 104lbs to date. It's taken me 5 years to do it though. I didn't consistently "diet" through that time which is why it's taken so long, but I'm ok with that. It was baby steps. In 2007, after 20yrs of marriage, my then husband decided it was too much work to be married and walked out. To cope with the…

For me, that's a jog! I'm 5'4" and have such a short stride that I can't walk comfortably at that speed. What else I've found though is that jogging at that pace gets my heart rate up! Since I have a desire to begin running more, I've decided that I would much rather build up distance first and then move on to speed!

I don't have a specific "cheat" day. For ME, that would be a slippery slope! I don't deprive myself, if I want something, I make sure for one, that it fits into my calories for the day, but something else that I'm finding about myself is that I don't WANT to eat those things I use to crave anymore. It's not worth how I…

#35 - Because my inner child wanted to play, and hike, and run, and and and, but there was no way my outer body could do it...

When I joined our Y 4 years ago, I was 260lbs. I'm 5'4". I felt the same way you do. But one day I finally decided that I really could care less what anyone else thought of the fat girl on the treadmill. I was there to get healthy and while I may not have cared before about my weight, I did at that moment and I was doing…

The ability to run 3.2 miles! I've been attempting to get back into running again over the past few weeks. Decided on Friday that it was time to really push myself. Ran, and yes I use the word run loosely, because my pace is slow, the entire distance, not stopping and definitely not winded whatsoever. I thought maybe it…

It DOES get easier. The one thing that you CAN do is constantly reassure your son that you aren't going anywhere. That no matter what you will always be there for him. That you will never leave. My youngest daughter was 12 when her dad and I divorced and that was always her fear. That if her daddy could leave, then what…

You look fantastic!!! Congrats on the hard work and for not giving up!!!

Yep! Bingeing was my M.O. for the majority of my life. I started doing it as a way to cope as a child and after swinging the other way as a teen and not eating, I began binge eating again after the birth of my oldest daughter when I was 18 and continued with it until about a year ago. My first wake up was the day that I…

Oh goodness Jennfrye I'm in the same boat as you! I was married for 20yrs, met my ex when I was 15, so really have NO experience in the dating world!!! I get the fear and the becoming tongue tied! Since I'm in the same boat as you, I'll just say good luck!!!!!

Congrats!!!! Isn't it wonderful when you see numbers again that you haven't seen in forever??!!!! I've recently entered into "one" derland! First time in 17 years that I've not seen a 2 as the first number on the scale!
-
Like someone else mentioned, its my stomach looking like a Shar Pei! The alternative is to gain all the weight back, but THAT'S not going to happen! I'd rather be healthy!

Congrats!!!!!!!
