Congratulations! I love the photos of you lifting - I feel like I should make a lil home gym of my own :)

I'm 5'4" 165 lbs (more or less) and my thighs are about 25" When I was 135 lbs my thighs were about 21-22" Sorry, I don't have any pictures :/

I concur. 26.

I drink tons of tea, I grew up as a child drinking tea. It's just part of my routine, I don't do it for any benefit, if there is any...

Congratulations! What an amazing story!!

I LOVE the tupperware suggestions! I think my tupperware are way too big. I only have a couple of them, and they're like double the portion sizes I'm used to eating now. I love the photo of those small tupperware that Lifting4lis posted. I need those!

Yes, I think that's my issue too. I feel that getting to the bottom of something means satisfaction, so if I only SEE a small portion then i'll only eat a small portion!
-
Yes - I have to learn to do that. I think cooking 3 servings exactly would help us both out greatly.

Oh man, my boyfriend would get so peeved if I just cooked one portion of anything. He'd think I was ready to kick him out of the house. Ha. Gotta feed the man belly. He's an excellent cook too, so he cooks often and cooks a big pot of whatever which gets eaten way too quickly!! I've had to tell him I'm not eating his food,…

I really can't fit beer into my calories. I can drink tequila or gin though :disappointed_relieved: When I do hit my goal, I will start incorporating beer as I increase my calories to maintenance though.

Congrats! I"m the same height as you. You're an inspiration!

I'm 5'4" and (almost) 32 years old SW: 175 CW: 164 GW: 125 I don't know if I'll ever get as low as 125, but in the ballpark of 125-133 would be totally reasonable. My calorie range is 900-1400 calories a day until I get to a lower weight, then I'm going to up my calories and increase my running miles accordingly.
-
The pictures of myself at my highest weight. The fact that the jeans I wear every day are size 12. I'm reminded every day and so totally ashamed that I let myself get like this, and that's my only motivation.
-
No, I never do.

I'm the same way. I can't not eat at night. I can't sleep if my stomach isn't good n full. I don't eat breakfast. I don't eat until 1pm or so, and then I have a reasonably sized lunch around then. Then, when I get home from work around 6-9pm I basically can eat whatever I want and still be under my calorie goal for the day.

I'd tell all of my friends and family unanimously: DO NOT buy me clothes for gifts. Music, books, scarf, winter hat...candle holders...ANYTHING but clothing. Nobody has to buy you clothes except yourself!

Me too. You don't need to cook. I've been buying salads at Trader Joes. I look at the calorie count on the package, and I don't go over 1400 for the day. Usually I can have two salads a day, a hard boiled egg and some fruit.

YES! I am also a runner. I was on high school track and I ran division 1 track in college. I have hip bursitis and I cannot run the same way I did before. That's what happens when we put so many miles on us that young. Usually rest will take care of things like this, and most likely a doctor will tell you if it doesn't go…

Yes, times a million. MFP way is exactly like a crash diet for me in the way that I could never, ever stay on MFP every day of my life for the rest of my life. I couldn't even follow logging/weighing foods for the majority of this year because of life. Different things work for different people, no diet, nor MFP is a "one…

I don't eat breakfast. I don't eat before 1pm or so. I have black coffee most days. For lunch I usually have oatmeal with a banana and hot tea. Sometimes I'll bring the previous days leftovers to work, but it's never a lot of food (usually 100-200 calories) I work out after work (usually running 3-5 miles) When I get home…

I definitely do it because I really enjoy it and it has helped me lose and maintain weight in the past (when I was in my mid-20s, I'm now 32) It's not that I don't think I'm running enough, it just makes me feel really good, and the better shape I get into the faster/longer I want to run for. I want to start running races…
-
Yeah, it feels that way at least, but I'm just not sure if I'm running enough. When I used to run regularly I'd do 70-100 miles a month. I feel that if I work up to 70-100 miles a month and I'm running 7-8 minute miles I'm still 35-40 lbs overweight, the weight probably isn't an issue at all and I should just start…

thank you for this. i'm where you used to be. I have started running and would LOVE to complete a marathon some day. you're an inspiration!

Yes. I have big thighs, even when I'm at a lower weight. Nothing makes my thighs smaller, lifting weights would only make them bigger. This is genetic. My cousin is 110-115 lbs and she has thick thighs, calves etc and people comment on it but she is healthy, does yoga, runs and is a beautiful young woman! That being said,…

That's pretty strange to think about, considering NONE of my great grandparents had left their home countries in 1814. My family (both sides) didn't make it to the US until the 1920s-1930s... And even then they settled in the Northeast which was completely settled and where I guess I probably would be a nurse like I am now.

Dang I'm trying to save money by *not* buying amazing things at Trader Joes but....

Don't feel bad! I started this weight loss journey January 2014 (this year) and I am now only ~5-7 lbs less than my highest weight. The most I lost was about 12, but I gained a bunch of it back and I don't even know why. It is difficult, you'll get off track a million times, but just try to be as consistent as possible and…
