  • I wish people would stop posting this kind of thing... Every heard of IIFYM? If it fits your macros?
  • Be consistent. This is a marathon not a sprint.
  • Not much can beat a good ribeye. (Unless you add bacon)
  • You can also use turnips instead of potatoes. Very low cals and carbs (compared to potatoes) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZj3BmqUtQo
  • There is a lot of the amino acid glutamine in meats. Glutamine helps lower sugar/carb cravings while dieting and the protein will also help keep you full longer. Can't go wrong with eating more protein.
  • Oatmeal, nut butters, whole milk, ground beef, chicken, avocados, bacon (MMM bacon) Eat more calorie dense food so you can eat less (saves money) and still get the calories you need.
  • Yup. Just counting calories and exercise. Losing weight is nothing more than calories vs calories out. I have eaten better now I admit. Knowing how many calories is in something that I used to eat every day is shocking sometimes. I still enjoy myself every now and then, just make sure it fits in for the day. I was 350…
  • 2100. I do not eat back exercise calories. It's easier to just stay consistent with my calories, that way I can make adjustments if I stop losing weight. That, and all the exercise calculators can really over estimate how many cals you burned.
  • I'd rather eat my calories than drink them. Even if I order prime rib and mashed potatoes or the like, it's a diet soda for me. I haven't had a regular soda in 3 years. Well, I had 1 at Christmas and it was like drinking syrup. Can't believe I used to drink that stuff by the 2 liter. Props on only eating half. I could…
  • 1-2 pounds a week is a healthy rate to lose. Plus the faster you lose the more loose skin you could have at the end. Slow and steady.
  • Only if the cows eat farm-ripened organic food too. No grass or grains. The grains will transfer their carbs to me through the poop and into my juicer!
  • When she is so weak from starving herself and she binges, perhaps then she will listen to you.
  • All true. That being said some days I only eat in a 4 hour window, skip lunch, and other days I don't. Staying in a deficit is the important thing. I do find that if I eat breakfast, it makes me hungrier all day and I am more likely to cheat, so I never eat breakfast. Weird but true.
  • Do greek yogurt instead of cottage cheese. You can also eat eggs and bacon, protein shakes.. honestly the only time I eat breakfast is on the weekends for this reason. Ain't nobody got time for that.
  • No you won't, unless you eat too many calories. Dietary fat is essential for health. Just eat regular cheese.
  • Wouldn't know. I've never measured my sugar intake, just total carbs.

  • Carbs give you teh diabeetus too. STAY AWAY FROM THE CARBS!!!! ;)
  • Just count overall carbs. I always have cottage cheese with strawberries, blueberries and other things every night before bed. (check my diary if you want) Sometimes I will even eat cereal for desert. Still lost a ton of weight and I have never counted sugar. Stay within your calorie goal (calories in vs calories out) =…
  • I'm sure it will anger some people here but... this whole "drink 8 glasses a day" myth and the "it can only be pure water" myth is just silly. http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp Drinking more water will not help you lose weight. (It does help you feel full, however and get through some cravings) It's simply…
  • If it helps you in the gym, go for it. I don't like feeling full when working out so I don't usually eat before working out and have a big meal afterwards. It's personal preference, nothing more.
  • Yes. You will lose a ton of muscle mass doing it that way. Right now you could probably lose weight at 2500 a day. I am 6' 220, and cut at 2200. There's no need to starve yourself. The faster you lose weight, the more loose skin you will have also.
  • I hate fish, so have fun with that! :P Just keep fish that are high in mercury to a minimum and you should be fine.
  • One thing to make sure you are doing is getting enough dietary fat. Vitamin D is fat soluble so you MUST have enough fat in your diet order to absorb it properly. My wife struggled with anorexia and bulimia as well and had a basic fear of fat (thinking that fat makes you fat) and never ate anything with fat in it. Now she…
  • Absolutely. Sometimes buying a smaller shirt or pair of pants and trying them on every so often, can give you a better idea of your progress than a scale can.
  • As long as your lifts in the gym aren't going down, everything is fine. If you notice that you are struggling with lifts you used to have no problem with, up the calories closer to TDEE.
  • I find that if I eat breakfast, I am hungrier all day long, so I try to avoid it. As long as you hit your calorie and macro goals, meal timing and frequency are irrelevant. Do what works for you!
  • ^This 100% Diets don't work. It needs to be a lifestyle change. You would be better off eating a Snickers and a protein shake than drinking a slim fast. They're junk IMHO. Count calories, burn more calories than you consume, eat a balanced diet with lots of protein and healthy fats, fill the rest of your calorie allotment…
  • If you eat more, you will have more food in your body, you will weigh more. Also, if you are eating more carbs than before, you are probably holding more water too. No worries.
  • I like adding canned pumpkin (not the pumpkin pie mix) to cottage cheese and adding a little splenda, allspice and cinnamon. Tastes great and more protein than yogurt.
  • Why the fat phobia? Eating fat doesn't make you fat. Just stay away from trans fats as they are a non-natural fat. If anything, I would say you're not eating enough fat. Fat regulates hormones, is essential for vitamin A,E,D and K absorption, helps increase testosterone production (Which helps build muscle and gives you…
