Stop feeding the trolls. Have you noticed 9 of 10 respondents supporting this drug in this threat have less than 5 total posts. It is the likely the same person with several different USERIDs pimping this drug.

You have a few options. Only the Polar H7 chest strap works with iPhone (and only 4S or 5 models). It uses the new low energy bluetooth standard (BTLE or Bluetooth 4.0). Other straps will not work with iPhone. Retails for $80 but can find it on Amazon for $56. I don't really see the need for one integrated app (and the…

Ditto everything said above with one extra piece of advice: I had a similar issue. I purchased tennis elbow strap (not sure what it's really called). It's a nylon/velcro strap with a small integral air bladder. You tighten it around your upper forearm just below the elbow. I used it during pulling exercises. I found the…

To be clear, no exercise in and of itself will cause you to lose weight. Weight loss results from a calorie deficit (consuming fewer calories than you burn from daily life support and activity). Exercise, of any sort, will raise the calories you burn, but you can always out-eat your exercise program. That being said,…

In the order asked: Yes, currently. No short answer for 2nd question. Highly recommended for certain individuals, with certain goals, at certain times. Not recommended for casual MFP user trying to drop weight. PM me for specifics. I did my homework first. I can shoot you a few links. Experience has been very positive. PM…

Modify...use both feet, like a bunny.

^This. With me I learned I had been running incorrectly all my life. When I strike with my heel, with my feet forward of my hips, and my legs almost straight, it can lead to shin splints and knee pain. I have recently changed to striking mid foot, in a vertical line with my hips, knees slightly bent, and getting my heels…

It's been less than a week. You have neither gained nor lost enough FAT in that time to be noticeable. Water weight may come and go...who cares. This is about FAT loss. That being said, fat loss is about diet. Exercise helps, but you cannot outrun your fork. One donut will completely erase a 30 minute jog (and then some).…

I use resistance bands. Nothing I had tried before improved my pull-up strength as quickly as the bands. I do pull-ups without bands to failure, then use the bands to complete the set. In a relatively short time period, I went from not being able to do a wide grip pull-up to doing 8 unassisted on my first set. Second set I…

A reasonable average burn rate for running is 100 cal/mile. If you run an 8 min mile, that's 350 calories in 30 minutes. This can be erased (and then some) by a single donut. Or think of it this way...you have to run 100 yards to burn off a single M&M candy. You can't outrun your fork.

I was trying to figure out why beer belly guy was using wrist straps for "bench press."

I second the resistance bands. Been using them recently and my pull-up numbers have increased nicely. Now I go to failure without the bands, then use the bands to finish off the set. Yesterday I did my first full set of wide grip pull-ups (8 reps) without the bands (didn't need them until 7th rep of 2nd set). Eventually I…

Goal weight = current lean body mass divided by (1 - goal BF%) (Assuming your goal is to maintain current lean body mass). Using your numbers (218 lb and 35.5%) your current lean mass is 140 lb. That seems a little high, which might indicate actual BF% is higher than 35.5%, but not knowing your height, etc, who knows? For…

None of the programs mentioned thus far would be classified as strength training. For the most part, strength training = weights. Insanity, etc. are cardio/conditioning programs.

I don't think you and Mr. Venuto disagree in the least. He is simply saying to lose weight, calories out must exceed calories in. If what worked in the past is no longer working, the equation has rebalanced. He provided several reasons why this might happen. He didn't get into age related or hormonal reasons, but I don't…

Savor the soreness. Pain is weakness leaving the body!

Between sets of curls in the squat rack I like to flex in the mirror and creep on the female clientele. When benching my spotter gets a few bonus sets of barbell rows helping me get the bar off my chest.

The subtle sarcasm of your posts never ceases to bring a smile to my face (as well as the responses from those who bite hook, line, and sinker).

Hard work beats good genes when those with good genes do not also work hard.

^This. Nor will you bulk while eating at a deficit.

This possibility came up during my web browsing. While I have no prior history, I read heavy squatting can cause hemorrhoids (which are just swollen blood vessels). However, because there is no irritation, if that is the issue, it is likely internal vice external. The creme, as I understand it, is for external only. And…

I used all of the above, but the thing that helped me the most was those large Crossfit rubber bands. I don't do Crossfit. The brand I purchased was called Rubberbandits. You can get them online. They are inexpensive and come in varying strengths. You simply loop one or more over the bar and put your feet in stirrup-style.…

Thread reminds me of a joke I heard... How do you know if someone does Crossfit? Don't worry, they'll tell you.
