  • That is EXACTLY how I feel! It's like you say, obsessing with my body, what goes into it, what I do with it, how it changes... It's made self-conscious in a whole new way! I absolutely feel more insecure now than 35 lbs ago. It's very nice to know I'm not alone in having these conflicting thoughts and feelings…
  • LOL yeah, even at 5'2.5''-5'3'' like me, they look just ridiculous. My friend who is my height and only 110 lbs tried one yesterday and had the same problem! Although I really wish I could wear them, they look so comfortable!
  • Lol, that last part right there is definitely my nightmare!
  • I know all too well what it's like dressing a bigger chest. Not until recently have I finally gone down in the chest area. Before I did, I would just feel grotesque in a lot of clothes. I agree on knowing about to dress your body type. I'm short and my torso is basically a narrow waist, then all boobs and narrow shoulders.…
  • At first I felt great in the smaller clothes, but then I started thinking that maybe I shouldn't? I agree with you on wobbly bits though, and I keep my own under wraps. I'm always wearing tights or even tap pantyhose, almost always with a control top to flatten my wobbly tummy. I also always keep my arms and shoulders…
  • I've stopped trusting my reflection so I almost always take a picture  I've mostly been shopping at H&M and those type of stores. While I don't think I dress too young (I'm 27 and still a student), I feel like society over here in Europe (Norway) is very unforgiving of overweight and obesity.
  • I'm not an expert at this or anything, but I would recommend getting an appointment with a trainer, and ask them for some advice. I did that with strength training to rebuild muscle mass lost while dieting, and I found it gave me a new outlook on working out. I just had one appointment where I told the trainer what I was…
  • Great progress!! There's a very noticeable difference in the pics. Keep up the good work
  • Binges are very destructive for my weight loss too. I've been looking over my weekly calorie intake lately and I can see that while I do well on most days, my binges are so bad that they ruin my weekly average! This is the very first time I've been able to fight off a binge like that, my last one was just this past Monday!…
  • Hahaha, thank you so much for this! I can't wait to see if I ever get rid of chub rub! It's been in my life for as long as I can remember, and as someone who wears mostly dresses and skirts, it has NOT been easy! Thank heaven for tan pantyhose...
  • That's so great! I can't believe you've come this far in such a short time, without even counting calories! You look great :)
  • I had to quit 30DS after 2-3 days the first time I tried it, I too was in incredible pain! I couldn't walk, stand, sit... It was horrible. I decided to do Jillian Michael's 6 week 6 pack instead for at-home workouts, in addition to walking 2-3 miles almost everyday. I think you're right to ease into it. 30 DS is hard…
  • Bump. I had some trouble with my Wahoo Fitness HRM and am curious to see what problems can cause faulty readings on HRMs.
  • I don't see how a gym that caters to overweight people is different than a gym for women only or a gym for boxers or bodybuilders. I don't think it's discrimination to exclude a certain part of the population, I don't feel discriminated if I don't fit the requirements for something. I do wonder about how they set the…
  • Wow, you look great! Those 40 lbs took 10 years off your face!
  • Dishwshing soap can usually break down oil
  • I make a basic hummus with a can of chickpeas, garlic, parsley, cumin and lemon juice. My favourite things to add are some feta (the kind in oil and herbs) or sundried tomatoes. I had to stop making the one with sundried tomatoes cause I would just eat the whole batch in one day!
  • Awww, this is so nice! Thank you so much. You've been a great support too, and I truly believe that support from friends - either IRL or on MFP is crucial to successful weight loss! Not only do they help hold you accountable, but sometimes you just need to vent, and only someone who's going through a similar thing can…
  • First of all, I want to thank everyone for the awesome and encouraging words. I know I would never have gotten this far without MFP - especially the pal part of the name  I've never a big fan of exercise, and I'm still not. I've been doing mostly cardio (mainly on the elliptical at the gym or going for walks/hikes),…
  • Weight loss is mostly nutrition but working out does make a huge difference! On your health, on your body and also on the scales
  • Thanks a lot everyone! It feels absolutely great to see the difference in the pictures, and having other people confirm it too! One can easily get hung up on the numbers on the scales, like I have a habit of doing... That's when pictures and measurements make all the difference! If anyone needs another pal, feel free to…
  • Amazing transformation and an AMAZING story!
  • Thanks for all the kind words! Again, if anyone is looking to get and give a bit more support on MFP, feel free to add me - just drop me a line with the request
  • It is motivating! I've already switched things up a lot in the past couple months. Started a proper strength training program, started going on more hikes/walks instead of relying on the elliptical. I even gave C25K a try but I suffer from horrible shin splints despite having good running shoes. When it comes to tracking…
  • Thanks a bucket, everyone! It's hard to keep up the motivation when I've been stuck at the same weight for 3 months, hence the negativity. Some days are harder than others, but most of the time, I still know I'm doing the right thing and more importantly - doing it the right way. Weight would slide off of me when I was on…
  • I forgot to add: I'm an avid user of MFP, and if any one feels like giving and getting a bit more support, you're welcome to add me as a friend, just drop me a line with the request :)
  • Thank you!!! And hahah yeah, the difference in the chest department is quite noticeable! Despite only having gone done one size... but let's just say there's still plenty to go around!
  • Thank you so much everyone!!! The support from people on MFP never ceases to amaze me
  • I'm definitely a slow loser... At first weight would just slide off of me, but I've been at it for a little over 7 months, and I've only lost weight for 3 of those. I've been stuck at a plateau since February, and while I do get discouraged sometimes... I still would not go back to the way I used to live. I had a couple of…
  • Hi! I'm 27 and have lost about 30 lbs with MFP but I still have abour 50 lbs to go. I like getting new friends on here, mutual support makes all the difference in weight loss! I'll send you an add :)
