• Two dinners from this week! Turkey pumpkin chili meatloaf with dijon and maple syrup, served with leftover green bean casserole that was frozen after Thanksgiving and honey cinnamon roasted sweet potatoes. 438 calories, 49g carbs, 13g fat, 29g protein Big Mac Casserole over a bed of shredded lettuce and tomatoes (I know…
•
Looks really good! What's the recipe?
Here is the base waffle recipe (I recently adjusted it a bit because its just a little too much and overflows out of my waffle maker): 1/4 cup cottage cheese 8g sugar free jello mix (you can use any flavor, I typically go with vanilla) 2 Tbsp milk of your choice 6…
• Not sure if you are looking to bring something super healthy or not, but these are a few things that tend to go over well at parties....at least with my friends/family: Stuffed Mushrooms Buffalo Chicken Dip Texas Trash Dip Not sure on the name....but water chestnuts wrapped in bacon with a brown sugar sauce Veggie Tray…
• Today's post workout meal was a cookies 'n cream protein waffle topped with PB Crave Cookie Nookie and Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup! 387 calories; 30g Carbs, 12g Fat, 42g Protein
• I would agree with the other posters. Simple solution....make your own food! Its a pain in the butt but you can prep all your meals on Sunday's. I worked 50 hrs a week and was in graduate school and still managed to prep all my meals. I'm sure your wife would be thrilled. I'm sure it can be frustration for your wife to…
• Was feeling a little German Flair! :-) Baked pork schnitzel, crockpot sauerkraut, apples, and onions, and spaghetti squash au gratin. Cals: 436, Carbs: 48g, Fat: 15g, Protein: 30g
• I am a big fan of Optimum Nutrition Whey, but it might be one of the more expensive brands. I believe its 120 calories per serving and 23 grams of protein or so. You can get it for decent prices online. There isn't a flavor I tried that I didn't like. If you like coffee, Mocha Cappuccino is really good. Or if you just want…
• Google "freezer breakfast burritos" or "freezer breakfast sandwiches." I usually make a batch every few months or so and grab one if I'm running late. You just pop it in the microwave and its ready to go. I make them by the dozen and it goes pretty quick to prepare them.
• I was going to second freezer burritos and breakfast sandwiches. You can take a hour or so to put together a dozen or so and then freeze them to eat when you don't have a lot of time in the morning. Just pop one in the microwave and its ready to go!
• The recipe does say to store in the freezer and eat it within 10-15 mins or it will turn gooey again.
• Yup, that's the one!
• I roasted a pumpkin the other day and am trying a recipe out this weekend for pumpkin ravioli which happens to be meatless! It says to use wonton wrappers, but I decided to attempt making whole wheat pasta from scratch. Doesn't look too difficult.....we shall see! http://www.tastebook.com/recipes/1088594-Pumpkin-Ravioli
• They probably do a little. But I am used to the flavor as well now. Seemed like there was a lot of protein powder in the recipe. My biggest concern is that I am worried I will eat it all in one sitting! Good luck with your double batch. :-)
• You will love it! It was kind of a pain to cut, but with a little patience sooooo worth it! Enjoy. :-)
• I followed this method: --> http://www.elanaspantry.com/how-to-roast-a-pumpkin-in-10-steps/ And you can definitely freeze any extra you have but I find it gets kind of watery after thawing so I like to use it up immediately. I supposed you could strain it through cheesecloth or something. Make sure you get a pie pumpkin!…
• I'm in the same boat..... I've tried countless recipes and so far this is my fave! I've probably been through about 4 lbs so far! I made it with ginger broccoli black rice on the side instead of the noodles. http://juliasalbum.com/2013/04/asian-salmon-and-noodles-recipe/ Broccoli Rice Recipe -->…
• I was recently working with a nutritionist, and she told me alcohol is fine but you must track it as part or your caloric intake. So I kind of try to regulate my drinking. I've cut back though since I prefer food calories over liquid ones from alcohol. I usually will have vodka with water and lemon/lime or put some Mio in…
• I use Blue Diamond brand almond milk and it says on the container "do not freeze." I make protein ice cream and use soy milk which seems to freeze well.
• I average about $100/week....just for myself! I try to buy meats when they are on sale and freeze them and also try to use in season vegetables. But sometimes I find a recipes that I really want to make that require "out of season" produce which is more costly.
• I absolutely LOVE breakfast....so here are 2 of this week's recipes. 1) Cauliflower Corned Beef Hash: 328 cals, 23g Carbs, 14g Fats, and 28g Protein 2) Today I made salted "caramel" apple protein pancakes! The caramel sauce is made from dates, nuts and a few other ingredients. I think its probably better than a bunch of…
• I tend to mix up cuisines if I see something I'm interested in making.... tonight's feature was tomato basil chicken with crockpot red lentil curry!
• I would say try to plan your eating ahead of time, either the night before or in the morning so you keep on track. I've also learned that losing weight is all a mind game. How bad do you want it? If you are not committed then you will just keep spinning your wheels. Planning definitely helps me keep from falling off the…
• Lifting heavy and I started supplementing with BCAAs. I'm currently in a calorie deficit and training for a half marathon. My trainer had me start BCAAs since allegedly they help spare muscle tissue.
• Ingredients Juice of 1/2 lemon 1/2 shallot, chopped 1 teaspoon honey 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes 2 bunches kale, stems removed, leaves shredded or finely chopped 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 1/3 cup sliced almonds 8 dates, pitted and chopped 2 1/2 ounces Parmesan, shaved with a peeler…
• Yum! Can I get the recipe? That looks amazing!
• This might be high in sodium....but I'm making it tomorrow! I just bought the lower sodium gravy mix. I My friend made it and said it was delicious! http://www.mommyskitchen.net/2008/08/no-peek-beef-tips.html
• I like New Rules of Lifting for Women. I just recently started it. I have been working out for years, but never did things like bar squats.... I stuck mostly to machines or dumbbells. So I'm liking the change. However, the first 16 workouts are pretty much the same so if you were bored with your previous program this may…
• Oatmeal cookie smoothie: 1/2 - 1 cup milk (might need to add more or add some water to get desired consistency) 1/4 cup oatmeal 1/2 banana 1 Tbsp raisins 1 scoop protein powder (I use vanilla) 1 tsp cinnamon dash of cardamom (totally optional) Ice
• Wow! Good for you! Great inspiration.
• What specifically about your progress are you not happy about? Is your weight not decreasing or you are not progressing in your lifts as much as you'd like? I have only read NROL4W and to me it doesn't seem like a weight loss plan per se.....you need to do that through diet. I am debating starting it and curious to know…
