Good point.

I like people who are deeply weird.

Wow. It's a slow day when this is a hot topic of conversation. That being said, I feel rage, I say, rage when there's no use of the directional.

Garbage in, garbage out. Some people enter bogus/incomplete nutritional info when creating a new item. But I find that to be pretty rare. I've tried several calorie counters and this one's the best. It's not perfect but I find it to be quite comprehensive. And why bother trying to add something like "scrambled eggs" when…

I am a freelance writer at the moment and work from home. I never sit down for starters. I stand most of the day, working at a counter tall enough for me to type comfortably. This takes some getting used to but--trust me--this really makes a huge difference. I have an elliptical machine at home, which helps motivate me.…

I have no comment other than pure admiration for the Domo Kun usage. :)

DO NOT buy the Polar FT4. Mine would fluctuate wildly and then died after one year. And the battery is a pain to change.

I have the EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale. Love it. Recommend it highly. It's $25.00 on Amazon and worth every penny. http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Digital-Kitchen-Silver/dp/B001N07KUE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1361464123&sr=8-1&keywords=EatSmart+Precision+Pro+Digital+Kitchen+Scale

Don't worry. You're probably gaining some muscle, which weighs more than fat. If you stick with it--and you should--you'll start to get toner and your clothes will start to fit better. Then the scale will start giving you the lovely feedback for which you are working so hard. Making exercise fun is very smart. Being on MFP…

I agree with many of the comments posted. I suffered for years with an undiagnosed thyroid issue. Not all doctors can properly diagnose thyroid problems like hashimoto, which can absolutely impact your ability to lose weight. Check out this site. http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ Find a doctor who might help you make…

Please feel free to add me. (That goes for anyone here.) :)

I have those moments too. But don't give up. Keep pushing forward. Your efforts will pay off. Give it your personal best! :)

Ha! Love this!

An entire bunch of kale with olive oil, garlic, and cumin. Baked at 350 degrees. This is so addictive!

They have brussel sprouts still on the stalk! They are much fresher! (And I used to hate brussel sprouts.)

My thoughts exactly. Taking care of yourself is sexy. But if your partner wants to bail because you gained some weight, the relationship probably isn't all that fantastic. (That being said, I suppose it also depends on your definition of "letting yourself go." Good hygiene is a must.)

The MapMyFitness App (which I mostly love) allows you to upload your data. I too have a Polar HRM and it's recently died after just over a year of use. I'd never buy one again. Do you like yours? (A little off topic, I know. But I'm curious.)

Yes, alternative desserts are the best for this kind of situation. But it would also be helpful for your BF to be more supportive. He could bring his snacks to work and perhaps cut down on the junk food in the house. It also helps if you do the shopping. :)

Find a friend to go to the gym with you. Or go for a walk, run, anything to get you moving. Once you start up again, keep going. I joined an online fitness challenge on MapMyFitness. This was truly quite motivational. I committed to a goal and this kept me exercising even when I didn't feel like it. (And I have many days…

Hi--I've been logging in for about 60 days now in a row. I think the tool is very useful. Everyone please feel free to add me as a friend. :)

Hi--I used to have those days a lot but that gets better as you start to lose. I set my goal weight as what I actually wanted it to be. I'm about half way to my goal and the scale seems to be stuck. It's frustrating but I keep going. A mini goal might feel more satisfying. You can celebrate your victories along the way. My…

This sounds like a very healthy way to view yourself. I like it.

I've had this problem myself. For me, it's because I've normally been a size 4 until about 5 years ago, when I ballooned up a few sizes more. Nearly back down there to my "normal" weight but in my mind I've been a size 4 the whole time. Of course in my mind I also think I'm 5'10". (I'm 5'-3"!)

I can't help you with uploading the photos but congrats on your weight loss. I've lost 21 lbs so far and it feels great. It helps to share with others and hear from others so one can stay motivated on this lifelong journey. Again, congratulations to you on your success.
