  • 3 meals and a couple of snacks, I do have a very active job so sometimes I am totally starved by mid afternoon and have learned that afternoon snack keeps me from mindless munching while fixing dinner.
  • Fabulous, each and every one of you :flowerforyou:
  • Work in progress, before 240, size 22, current 161, size 14/16, one year between start and now.
  • Ok, couple of things, love the post, you are a funny and brave soul. Two: for whiners there is a reason this section is called chit, chat, fun and games, it is for fluff! Three: We all need a break from the relentless pounding in the serious forums about nutrition and fitness as each pulpit pounding there is only one way…
  • Some people have odd reactions, now me, I've been drinking diet soda for 30 years and trust diet soda had nothing to do with my fat. I also lost 57 lbs while drinking the occassional diet soda, I don't drink it every day and I limit myself to one when I do (but this is due to a very restrictive sodium program from my…
  • Engineer or Necro both rock, I have an 80 necro, great above ground, not as good in a dungeon. Engineer is only 35 so not to sure yet how she will be in a dungeon but she has way more support skills available as well as damage combined with heals. Guardian is awesome if you want to support a team. Ele is great for just…
  • Ok, when I first started I lost a lot of weight relatively quickly and for several months looked like a melting ice cream sculpture. However, as the months have gone by and a lot of exercise as well my "apron" is beginning to at least not hang out past my hips, lol.
  • Lifestyle change, no "diet" here, or I wouldn't still be here after a year!!!!
  • I make oven fries out of the sweet potatoes, slice, spray with a bit of olive oil or olive oil pan spray, sprinkle with seasoning of choice, I use Jamaican Jerk or Mrs Dash Carribean citrus. Bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes, yum.
  • Awesome work and I know how you feel, just a few more to be perfect, lol.
  • Terrific progress and you are looking fabulous!!!
  • One year October 27th. 57 years old and 57 lbs, long story short, healthy eating, and lots of exercise. Had some surgery in the summer so it slowed me down. Started at 238, current 181 and still working toward another 15-20 and lots of toning in the 2nd year.
  • Try the yellow, red, or orange "bell" peppers, I dislike the green ones, but give me one of the other colors and they totally rock!!!
  • Lol, I've been tracking for nearly a year and not missed a day, if I felt I needed to up my calories for awhile I just did, needed more sweets, fine, done, needed a few cheetos, done. It all goes in the log for god and everybody to see, I don't really care about anyone but my opinion and how can I know what works and what…
  • Absolutely, eating healthy and working out, that's all you need. Oh and don't entirely deny yourself your favorite goodies. Restrictive diets just don't work. Moderation, portion size, and sensible food will get the job done.
  • I so felt like this at the beginning, but, I put together a playlist, took my music player, put my earplugs in and just went for it. I am sure a lot of folks were amused or grossed out, I didn't really care. Now 50 lbs later from that decision one of the guys at the gym told me he is incredibly impressed by my progress,…
  • At 4.0 mph and 4% incline I'm doing both, alternating jogging and walking, I have pretty short legs though.
  • One a pound a week when you only have 30 to go is very healthy and respectable. 2 lbs a week is mostly enjoyed by the very obese and only until they get down a ways. You are way more likely to keep it off at a pound a week. Keep your chin up and keep on trucking, it will go, just be patient with your body and yourself.
  • B.S and MSc in Marine biology, background in geology, fire ecology, plant ecology and GIS, lol. guess that qualifies me as a nerd. Also huge SciFi reader, follow the curiousity Rover on Twitter, and give the "sciency" answer when my MFP pals asked a question that needs it, lol. I also work as a biology lab tech prepping…
  • Mines open always has been, I've had a few folks friend me and then leave because as a biologist I sometimes inquire as to the reasoning behind food choices. I too am often surprised by how little some folks eat but often the calorie content is high. Don't really care about comments really, it works for me and I can keep…
  • Well your diary is private so can't help you there. When I started this project I was on the MFP defaults, 50c/ 25F /25 P. Tired a lot, if I didn't structure my food right I was light headed and dizzy after my workouts. Did a ton of research, switched my setting sto 40C/ 30F/ 30P and started eating healthier and making…

  • Lol, we've been married almost 40 years and always eaten differently. I can talk myself blue in the face or just deal and eat my way and let him eat his. Doesn't bother me anymore but I tease him all the time about how he's going to be old and fat and won't be able to run fast enough to get away when he makes one of his…
  • OMG, lol, will giggle all day over that one, my daughter is an editor, had to send it to her immediately :)
  • Lots of label reading and then do your own. There are now low sodium spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, beans, etc. Just read the labels and don't always trust "reduced sodium" as it can still be 300 or better, it's just better than the 700 it usually is. Pick your battles carefully, don't give up the things you love but if you…
  • Yeah, keep doing ab type workouts to keep the muscles getting toned up, it takes awhile for the skin to tighten up. Mine is lots better but it still ain't pretty but a lot better than before I lost 16 inches around the middle.
  • Thanks, getting to that point myself.
  • Well checking your diary some folks may hesitate to comment since you are burning tons of calories and eating under 1200 gross and likely like 500-600 net, so not so good. If you were my friend I would be sending you pm's to find out why you are running so low on calories, perhaps it is a short term goal or something? I…
  • Mostly PC, used to do console a bit, GW2 is my current addiction :glasses:
  • I well continue to log well into maintenance, not sure when I'll stop, might miss a day now and then after I hit my goal if it's a day of food I know by heart, but other than that, yep, logging into maintenance.
