I've never found that 'healthy' (reading as 'entirely home-made, high in nutrients and moderate in calories' as I'm not really sure what it's supposed to mean) food is tasteless or bland. In fact, I tend to crave the 'healthy' food more often - it's very rare that I eat fast food, with the exception of 'skinny' Starbucks…

Absolute nonsense! Only thing it's proven to be good for is taste (if you like it). That said, I did have some success washing my hair with it once. Made it really shiny.

Beware of 'Greek style' yoghurt. Usually thick due to fillers rather than straining and hence the protein content is disappointingly low compared to real Greek yoghurt.

Fat ~ 9kcals per gram. You're doing the gym wrong.

steamed edamame (soybeans): delicious virgin coconut oil: too expensive commercial peanut butters: don't like PB lactose free chocolate milk sweetened with sucralose: I have no need for lactose-free products but I'd probably enjoy it whole kernel corn: never had it farmed salmon: salmon is my favourite lowfat grainfed…

I think you'd have more success if you set small goals and built them up. Rome wasn't built in a day, and all that, and neither is 75lbs. It'll take a lot to overhaul your lifestyle but if you do so step by tiny step, it becomes habit and I think more sustainable. Hope that helps?

I think a lot of people who have plastic surgery are insecure enough to feel that they don't look 'normal', even if they're not deformed.

Let me know!! The protein powder I just ordered is this flavour, I don't have any vanilla on hand. :)

Nike Lunarglide 4+s which probably need replacing by now, but until I see another pair like that so scandalously cheap, I think I'll either have to deal with it or hope that Santa is generous this year.

I disagree that calorie counting is doomed to failure: I think it can become part of one's lifestyle to log calories consistently, it just gets easier and becomes more of a habit over time. I don't think there's a surefire way to lose or maintain without counting unless you're VERY good at eyeballing your portions, etc.…

I love data!! So, no. For me it's satisfying to have pie charts and percentages and masses so I know where I am every day, and I have an image of my progress (it's too easy to slip back into bad habits without data keeping me accountable). It could be nice to be carefree, but I am just not that person.

+1. Run outside and explore, learn to love your workouts and you'll find maintenance much easier when it comes to it because it won't be a chore to keep up with a regular fitness routine (and hell, it lets you eat more - what better motivation could you find?! ). I find cardio in the gym to be extremely boring and…

Really depends how you feel. I find that running can help so I start at a slow pace, close to home. If after 10-15 mins I'm still not feeling good, I'll head back. If it's better, I'll try pacing up.

All my green teas have always been caffeine-free...? Which brand do you use?
-
If it was coca I imagine it'd be a hell of a lot more fun to drink  I agree though. If you wan the coffee effect without the bitter taste or the calories, go for a diet soda. Or even a Pro Plus... I drink my coffee black, sometimes add powdered cinnamon to the grounds if I'm in the mood.

Wow, thank you for all the responses - honestly did not expect so many (and compliments on my food diary, you guys :blushing: )! I have just mentioned to my mother on the phone, albeit briefly, that I've lost some weight recently, that I'd had bloods done & am seeing a doctor on Friday etc. Her response was a very blunt…

Thank you, everyone. I think the main problem is that EDs are such secretive illnesses that in a way they don't quite trust me when I insist that I'm fine. I think I'll broach the matter with my mother first, as it is my grandparents I am really worried about (we're very close and I know that they are the ones prone to…

...or the tall skinny caramel macchiato is only 100kcals, you know...

Bananas! Heavy on the carbs, but I usually justify it by the fact that they're quite nutritious in terms of micronutrients too. So good for sugar cravings.
-
Yes - supplements can help somewhat but I believe that absorption of nutrients can be more effective when they are sourced from food. And macros, as well - your body will need fats, protein etc and I imagine it's hard to meet your goals on that in 800kcals. I think you'll be much better off in the long run at at least…

I wish I had seen someone with a fitness background! However, it was a consistent problem for me since that first time I decided to run through them instead of stopping on a 10k so I think I might have turned shin splints into a stress fracture, increasing the healing time. Standard shin splints heal up more quickly, I…

I had them, or perhaps a stress fracture (was never determined) badly enough to it affect my walking for a few days (was on crutches for one) - my doctor told me 6 weeks off high-impact exercise. I got them straight back after that so waited another EIGHT weeks, and had to use a treadmill for a while after that to get back…

It's less about the fabled 'starvation mode' and more about the nutrients your body is getting! At 800kcals it may well be very difficult to fit in all the nutrition you require. I'd suggest upping your calories and eating on a schedule as you'll get used to it quite quickly - personally I find it deceptive to 'listen to…

I used to have a fitness/recovery tumblr blog (not active at the moment). Made this for it after getting sick of seeing 'detox' posts on my dashboard. edit: if you don't mind ignoring all the personal posts, there are some nice quotes/recipes on here though http://karinalossblog.tumblr.com/

Make pasta sauce with it (usually a tomato-based one with whatever I fancy: borlotti beans, mushroom, pancetta etc). Usually salt and press it for 30 mins or so beforehand to prevent it from soaking up too much oil, though.

Body type typically refers to where on the body one is predisposed to put on fat.

I suppose that's fair enough. I think the urine colour is a really good indicator, though.
