Happy Birthday! I went over by 500 cals today and its NOT my birthday....lol. I only have serious stress to blame it on and that's not really a good excuse. It takes what like 3500 calories to gain a pound in a week? I'd say be careful for the rest of the week and be aware you may not see any weight come off for another…

My husband is in the Air Force and before we got married, he lived in the dorms. He would get something from the chow hall like chicken for the main course. Then he kept fruit and stuff in his dorm room that he would finish the meal with. Like if they were serving chicken and potatoes for the day, he would just grab the…

I don't think it matters so much WHEN you sleep as HOW MUCH sleep you are getting. I am also a night person and usually don't go to bed till at least 2 or 3am, but I sleep till at least 10 or 11am. I just tend to be more active and get more done at night, so I just go with the flow (but I have the privledge of being a…

Depends on what your problem area is....if its your tummy, get something with a tummy panel in a one piece....if its your thighs, look for the boy short look. Go try on a few swimsuits and see what makes you look the best. I always find dark colors make me look better....or at least feel less self concious. Don't be too…

I tried one from Avon and one from the store that I just cannot remember the name of after I had my son (since I have pretty bad ones on my stomach). Frankly, they just do not work. It was a waste of about $40. The marks never really go away but can become lighter over time.

I'd get some light weights. I have some five pounders that I use to do some arm curls and stuff like that. You can google stuff like how to lift weights or exercise with weights to get some ideas.

That looks almost to the point of sickness....like physcially sick. I wouldn't want to look like that, even if I could. She has no muscles!

"(Also just an FYI, in the 1950's a meal size at McDonalds was a kids happy meal - cheesburger, small fries and a soda (590 cals) Not the huge portions we have now......) [/quote]" Isn't that insane? The military clinic here always gives me info about portion sizes....the one that really got me was the difference in…

Crystal Light is really good. They have a ton of flavors. If you don't like their teas, try their lemonades or fruit punches.

I'm not sure if they are any good or not. I usually just order movies for my son and they run around the 15 dollar range. I like some of the classics myself.

Thanks for that post. I try really hard to make sure my son eats right. Of course, he loves sweets, but we limit them. He only gets one sweet thing a day and very very rarely ever gets soda. I grew up poor and my mom was one of those that was always "you better eat everything on your plate". That did so much more harm than…

I forgot about applesauce....I think I'll go raid my son's stash...lol. Thanks for the input. I'm making a list to send hubby to the store later.

Literally. I have been really sick with whatever this bug is that is going around and I have been eating less than 500 calories a day (yes, I know it's not healthy). All I have been able to eat is soup and jello. Anyone have any recommendations for something other than those two, that is a fairly light food (meaning not…

Ewww  How could people eat that?!

In my opinion, go see a doctor. It sounds like it might be something internal. I'm not an expert, that's why you should probably see someone who is.

Making sure your body is hydrated is essential; otherwise you mistake thrist for hunger and your body will want to hang on to excess. I'm sure there are other reasons, but that's what my doc told me a few weeks ago.

That's awesome. Kids are so much more preceptive than we give them credit for.

I LOVE that site. Granted it takes a little longer on shipping (but shipping is free), but I have never had a problem with them. I order DVD's from them probably once every other month.

I was going to say the same thing as Dave. My husband wanted to try that and he asked his doctor about it and was told it is nothing but really caffine and it *can* do more harm than good to your body (if you have problems with caffine like I do). General rule of thumb- beware of anything that claims to make you lose…

Depends on each individual really. Also, someone who has 100 pounds to lose will see results a lot quicker than someone who only needs to lose say 10 pounds.

My doc said to warm aches and to ice swelling. So since it's sore, I would try maybe a heating pad for 10 to 15 mins at a time.
-
You should definately try it. The worst that could happen is that you do not like it. Then you could always try to find something else, but at least you can say you tried.

Do you stretch out first? I have a really bad knee and if I don't stretch I usually end up in pain at the end.

I read an article that said something to the effect that this is a new trend. Parents are feeding their kids crap basically....lots of processed foods and whatnot. This probably co-exists with the new trend in child diabetes. It's scary to think so many kids are so overweight at such a young age.

I don't know about frozen grapes, but frozen bananas are awesome. You can cut bananas in half, wrap them in wax paper, put them in a freezer bag, and they can be kept in the freezer for a couple of weeks. Makes me feel like I'm having a nice dessert.

What are you snacking on? I do that same thing, but I try to eat things like air popped popcorn or sliced apples, something along that line. For me, it's a really hard habit to break...lol.
