You don't need an expensive one. Get digital, they are all good, but none are exact to the mg. You just need it to track progress, right? Don't spend too much.

Most people should limit their salt intake. I have to eat salt, because I work out heavy and often. I sweat a lot and I drink about 1.5-2 gallons of water a day. Without adequate salt, I would lose all of my electrolytes. Your doc is the best evaluator for your suggested salt intake!

Twice a day will help keep your metabolism up. I didn't read all of the replies, so I don't know if someone already told you. You need to be careful not to overtrain, causing injury. I have tried many types of protein. Hands down best tasting protein is Elite Gourmet by Dymatize. I have chocolate peanut butter, but all of the flavors are great. It is a mix of whey and casein, so you get the benefit of a slow and a rapid digesting protein, leaving you satisfied longer. Also low fat and cal.
