sugar free jello, decaf tea, decaf coffee are what I use when I want some flavor but no cals. But I eat all the way until I go to bed...

welcome Annette.

Very nice.

True. I wasn't picturing the freakish pro physiques in my mind when I wrote this. The modern pro is a look I have no desire to reach. Though I respect the work and dedication it takes to build those physiques.

Last 4 weeks has been insane. I wanted to bring up my chest and someone suggested Smolov Jr routine. That's a 4 day a week chest routine where you progressively increase sets and reduce reps. And then I fit the rest of my body into the rest of the days of the week. So I was working out 7 days a week for 4 weeks. I am…

Interesting data though. I just don't like the emaciated look that results from losing to much LBM from big weight loss with no resistence training.

I've lost 6% BF in 4 months while only losing 5 pounds. I started at 205 and now 200. It's possible. Just takes a very intense diet and routine. I'm beat up from it but I'm basically where I want to be so I'm maintaining now until my joints recover and I can start up with high intensity again in 2 months. I don't pretend…

Two great answers. My LBM is 180. I'm 200#. I lift weights. I need 3500 calories a day just to maintain. If you love food like I do, who woudn't want to lift. You will not end up looking like a bodybuilder unless you want to. I cringed when I see posts that say you will get to big and bulky and look like a BBr. You will…

Your assessor wants to increase LBM. Higher LMB results in higher base rate allowing you to eat more and burn more while doing nothing. It's very sound advice.

Just remember that those are estimates. Not exact. I have been going over my limits by 300 to 700 calories daily and I'm still fighting to stay where I am. I'd say it's the average of where you are holding on the scale and then adjust to go up and down! You'll find the magic combo and get it done.

removed. wrong post.

Yes eating "normal" will bring you back to your pre-diet self. It's a lifestyle change for me. I really don't care about eating normal again. I like me eating the new way. I log like a madman. every morsel is logged.

Yes. I've lost a lot of bf just by counting my carbs. I don't care about calories. I consistently go over my TDEE by 700 calories a day 5 days out of the week and am always over by at least 400 cals and my bf continues to lower.

500 to 15,000 is amazing! Incredible job.

I eat junk on my cheat days. Every 10 days or so. My point is consistently eat junk and you hold shorting yourself. We are talking the same stuff. We will have to disagree on the protein intake. We are all different. I was a good gainer when I was young. I went from 135 to 205 in 4 years and had 10% bf at 205. Last 3.5…

larrodarro, Don't get me wrong. I think powders have their place. I'll use them in a pinch and to push my macros around if I'm light on protein for the day but generally I try not to intake more than 15 to 20% of my protein via powders. Geek, Thanks. Consistency in training to keep lbm and diet to bring out definition. I…

I implied that they are holding themselves back. I did not say they did not have impressive physiques. Please understand I am talking people with low bf. No one I talk to that has a handle on their bf consistently eats junk. It just doesn't happen unless they are young adults. I assure you that a bodybuilder isn't eating…

larrodarro, I know a gentleman that never touched a weight until he was 55. he was 150 pounds as well. He is 67 now and has 8% body fat and probably close to 200 pounds. Incredible physique for any age. He was very well off and had time to train and eat to perfection. Seriously, it gave me a paradigm shift because I've…

Larrodarro, I believe consistency is key. Train at least 9 months out of the year if possible and find the macros that work for you and stick with it. I'm a big believer in wholesome foods as well. Less supplements when possible. Proteins should be eaten and not drank(when possible). I don't have more than 30 grams of…

Oh..I'd better add that I in no way am advocating my diet or macros to anybody. I've gotten blasted on other forums that my protein uptake is to high and my carb intake is to low. I didn't advocate it there or here. Just stating what I do. I hope this clears things up if anyone else wants to criticize the way I eat.

1.5g per pound of lean bodymass is very common in the lifting world. I'm not going to try and validate it. I've done the high junk carb macros and I sit around 15 to 16% bf when I do that. I am doing my diet and I peel off 2% of bf a month with more energy than I've ever had once I've adapted to this. I'm not advocating my…

Hi everyone. I'm off to costco to get my organic foods(mainly my meats from there) in bulk. I find if I am stocked up I eat better. If I run out, trouble begins. My problem is keeping up with my caloric needs at this condition. I will lose pretty quickly if I don't keep up with they calories. Currently I am eating 3300 to…

Lifters typically eat 1.5x their LBM. Maybe you don't agree but it's not uncommon. I've seen people eating 2x I think that is overkill. Whether it helps or not is debatable. It's what my macros call for and I'm not going to fill it with carbs. I don't understand what you mean by adaptation. I've been lifting for last 8…

I eat 260 to 300g of protein a day or else my fat macros go up. My carbs are at 20% so I have to keep the rest manageable. I eat 3300 to 3900 calories a day. Am I delusional that I'm wasting protein at 300g a day? My LBM is about 180 pounds. 1.5 x 180 is 270g. I'm not that much over. I've cut 2% of bf a month doing what…

Hi. I just found this thread. I'll be 50 in 4 months. I've been logging like a madman for the last 4 months. Dropped 6% bf in three months and am close to 10% now. I feel my diet/macros are dialed in for once in my life. I feel great, my mood is elevated from my workouts. I'm eating complete whole food meals at every meal…
