And losing inches is the best thing, since nobody sees your scale weight. And I don't want people to think I'm gloating, I just want people that are on the fence about upping their calories to know this does work. I likely lost mostly water, and I have no problem with that and hope fat comes off also in the long run.

The likely answer is your fitbit is not correct then.

You hit a plateau because over time your body adjusts its metabolism to live off the reduced calorie intake that you are providing it. And yes you can up your calories once per week as tim ferriss says, or you can up your metabolism 7 days a week by eating at a smaller deficit which gets your body really burning calories.…

I agree with everyone just don't worry about it. I used to do the spike diet which consisted of once a week eating double my bmr. And I still lost for sometime. So yes one binge is not going to kill you and there are tons of people that have a large meal once per week or a large day once per week and still lose weight.…

If it matters for those interested the bodymedia fit link version can show real time info on your smartphone. That's real important to me so I would suggest it if you like that option. If you go to the bodymedia websight you can compare all the models together including non bodymedia devices. It shows everything and makes…

I know when I go somewhere like that I walk a ton, I mean like twice or more then usual. So I wouldn't worry to much about it. I bet you will burn quit a bit just walking around the park and everything else. ps-I can usually just eyebal food and get a pretty good guess on the calories after logging food on here for the…

Your bmr and TDEE will never be the same unless you sit comatose in bed all day.
-
Is that 5 foot and one half inch or 5 foot 6inch(ie the 1/2)?
-
How would someone answer your question with only that info?
-
actually when your close to starving to death I hear you lose your hunger pains. I know after a few days of not eating you do. So no I wouldn't and the thought of that happening to me or someone else is pretty horrible lol.
-
Well what would you want to do on your non workout days? Your TDEE-15% is an estimate and not exact so some days you will burn more then what you estimated your TDEE and others you wont burn as much. But unless you have a device which tells you how much you actually burn you should just go by your calculation. As far as…

Thats how most people do it, but myself I like to tailor it a little. What I do is eat tdee-15% tomorow of what I burned today. That way if I have a low burn day today I make up for it tomorrow. You don't have to do it this way obviously, but that's the way alot of people I know in the bodybuilding world do it when they…

Well that helps, you are not eating enough imo. I usually burn around 3300 according to bmf and eat that minus 500. Which is pretty close to the tdee-15%. If you are burning so much and only eating 2300 calories your deficit is too large considering you are close to goal weight. If you had 100lbs to lose you could probably…

If you are really eating below your TDEE you really should not keep gaining weight for very long. Once your body adjusts to the increased carbs and water you should level out. That should not equal fat gain, but glycogen and water weight. You have to remember you are not gaining fat if you are eating less then you burn.…

Your body is doing what every body does it adjusts it's metabolism downward to survive off the low calories you're supplying it. The longer you do this the worse it gets. It's a common mistake that most (including myself) make in our weight loss journey, eating way to little to sustain healthy loss for the long term. The…

well just an example, I ate double my normal limit yesterday so about 5000 mg. today I am half a pound lighter then yesterday, hence no water weight gain. I also ran yesterday so I could of sweated out the extra if I had any extra. Not saying sodium is not important to keep down, but that most people get more excited about…

I have the same issue. When I workout early I am pretty much hungry all day. I think this means i'm burning more throughout the day, which is good.
-
I think polar has a one for around that range. Do not go for one of the cheap brands you might as well not get one if you buy a cheap brand. Polar is pretty respected and I would go for that in that price range.

Im no expert but from what ive read and heard from knowledgable people is that sodium in and off itself is not going to cause water weight. It's a sudden increase that does this. So basically if you eat alot of sodium(not saying this is healthy) your body is used to it and it should not contribute to massive water weight.…

One thing you may consider also is if you are in great shape as it sounds, you wont burn as many calories as someone not in great shape doing the same exercise. I beleive as long as you are eating enough you can workout/exercise as much as you wish. Just make sure to put rest days in there as your body needs rest…

I have the opposite problem, I always think it under estimates lol
-
that is good fat
-
there are others like the fitbit and nike band and few other companies make em, they are basically pedometers and they wont be as accurate as bmf.
-
ya for me it has to be fresh, I hate it when it's watery and I like the smallest curds. try it, it's great snack.
-
Yes i do, it may sound weird but bbq chips and cottage cheese is great! I'm not a huge cottage cheese eater, but doing that makes it so much better.
-
Thanks for the response. I have been reading about this idea of eating <500 calorie deficit (or your goal weight TDEE) for awhile and it has always made alot of sense but I just couldn't bring myself to increase my calories so much. At my worst I was getting a 1500 to 2000 calorie deficit or more on some high cardio days…

was hoping to hear from you guys, what you think?
-
Whether or not you can build muscle or not during a cut I am not sure about, what I am sure of is you can get stronger while losing weight if you maintain enough protein and other macros. Another reason I normally hear is that you will keep more muscle during weight loss if you are working it, hence the body thinks you…

Ya i originally was going to do that, but my workout and burn has changed pretty drastically the last week or so with me cutting back on my massive cardio that I had been doing. I just started c25k yesterday and I plan on doing weight training for 3 days a week also. So my bmf estimate for the last month would be off.…
