  • I am taking back my ability to make time to exercise.
  • I brought in grapes and a snack size bag of pretzals.
  • Did my first 20 minute run with no rest W5D3. Went super slow but made it thru and felt great! I guess all of my worrying was for nothing
  • I was like that when I first started but it seems to have loosened up as I went thru the program. I don't really stretch before I run, I know I should I just don't. How often are you running? Maybe try a different surface? If you run on the road try a track for a day or two see if it helps. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  • Mine is from old injuries and arthritis also.
  • I am in Amherst now but grew up in Avon Lake
  • Hi everyone my name is Kim. I am turning 40 tomorrow and I really started on MFP about 3 months ago. I was skinny when I was younger until I was in a car accident that did damage to my back and hip. I put on 100lbs over 10 years and decided enough was enough. I am mom to a very active 9yr old boy my turning point was when…
  • Anything I want in a size 8. Jeans, bra and panty sets, cute tops, sun dresses, shorts, everything!
  • I am up at 5am, Breakfast is oatmeal at 5:30 (usually eaten in the car on the way to work). A snack of a piece of fruit or a granola bar at 10:30ish. Lunch is at 1:45pm and is my biggest meal around 700 calories. Dinner is around 7pm when I get home from work if DS doesn't have any sports stuff going on. Bed is around 10pm.
  • I did W3D2 yesterday and really struggled with it, did W3D3 today and it felt so much easier! We all have our off days and just need to push thru it, tomorrow will be easier. Now I get a rest, no running until Saturday then off on W4D1.
  • I am in also! I started doing the C25K and am on week 3 so this will be a great motivator to keep me going. I have about 50 pounds left to lose and I would love to surprise my family with a skinnier me for Christmas. I did the math and it is about 26 weeks from today until Christmas so a 40lb loss would work out to 1.4lbs…
  • 3 black cats Coco Bean, Dukey and Midnight plus a blue maine coon cross Bear and a snowshow siamese Misha, all rescues. Throw in a Beagle and we have a full house.
  • I was just diagnosed ( at age 40) with exercise induced asthma and I am doing the couch to 5k. I have an inhaler that I use before I start each run and I run slower then I want to. It definitly helps and I do 1 interval at a faster speed if I can with out being totally out of breathe.
  • I was born in the 70's, both parents worked to make ends meet. Dad was a Type 1 diabetic so no sweets were in the house, if he couldn't eat it no one could (not his rule just the way it was). My Mom would make alot of pasta dishes, she was first generation italian american, lots of red sauce very little cream sauce. We…
  • Completed w2d1 today. Started out a little slower then picked up the pace after the first interval. I was tired when I was done but not totally exhausted and a few hours later I was ready to go out again. How crazy is that!?! I never thought I would have this much energy this soon. If you complete the weekly schedule is it…
  • I completed week 1 day 3 this morning and I feel great! I am ready to go out for another run right now. I was struggling through my run and went a little slower because I was having a hard time catching my breath but I think it is because I skipped my inhaler yesterday and woke up a little congested. I can't wait to do…
  • Completed week 1 day 2 this morning and I feel great! I am sure later my hips and ankles will be hurting later but right now it was worth it. I wasn't jogging as fast as I was on day 1 when I started but I was able to speed up as my intervals went along. Can't wait for day 3 I think Tues or Weds. I would like to get up to…
  • Also try local farmers markets for inexpensive fresh fruits and veggies. Local farm stands to if you have any in your area. I never have a problem finding inexpensive produce and I live in a metropolitan area.
  • I will join in. I am doing week 2 day 2 tomorrow morning.
  • Yes I eat whatever I want just different versions of it that make sense. For example, if I want McDonalds, instead of a large sized big mac meal I get a hambuger happy meal with pickles, lettuce and mac sauce on the side. If I want a chicken sandwich then no mayo on it and no fries, I get a salad instead. It also means I…
  • Started today with week 1 day 1. Felt really good running again and was able to keep a faster pace then previous attempts. Will do day 2 on Sunday.
  • I am also starting this week. I have tried it before and I love to run but prior injuries made me stop. I am trying again but plan to take it slower and find someplace softer to run other then pavement.
  • Height 5'5" Age 39 (turning 40 in 30 days) Starting weight 212 Current weight 186.4 Goal weight 135 Calorie goal 1400 Started about 2 months ago.
  • Italian tilapia (tilapia baked with canned italian tomaoes, red peppers and onion) and sauteed yellow squash and zuccini with a touch of garlic.
  • I tried it and it didn't work for me, I got mean and cranky but I did lose the weight. Hubby is on it and it works well for him since he is a big meat/protein eater. I have made chicken stuffed with spinich and ricotta that works for both of us. Also made spagetti squash with red peppers and onions that was super easy.
  • I have made a chicken salad with olive oil mayo, plain greek yogurt, taragon, salt and pepper. I don't know if there is egg in olive oil mayo sorry. It is very lemoney and light.
  • I have breakfast at 5am and am not a morning person so oatmeal is about all I can handle. Sometimes it is a piece of whole grainbread with a spoon of peanut butter and a piece of fruit if I am feeling more awake then usual. I try to keep it around 150-250 calories. I don't eat lunch until 1:45 so that is my biggest meal…
  • My favorite is to roast it in the oven after I split it in half. After it is tender I remove the seeds and shred. Then I dice up some red bell peppers and onions and saute it in a tsp of olive oil adding half of the squash. My family loves it.
