@Stoshew71 - I did try singing while I was running Saturday, and boy was that a sight since I can't carry a tune. I will continue trying to use this to keep a slow enough pace. @Elise4270 - I am sure most of it is mental. Each time I need to repeat something it seems to be harder then the first time I did it. Almost like I…

@MobyCarp and @PastorVincent - Thank you for the feedback. When I run on a treadmill that is what I concentrate on is pace but I struggle to transition that to regular run. I don't know any other runners around me so I can't find a buddy. I did look into groups runs but my work schedule is very unconventional so I struggle…

Goals for June: 1. To add 4th day to the running week - Going well so far with the only sticky spot being on Thursdays when I have to run before work at 4am. 2. To not puke, pass out or die while adjusting to the heat - Also going well but the month is young and it has not been that hot yet. 3. To stay healthy - So far so…

@angmarie28 - Way to tough it out with the upset stomach @nFoooo - Congrats on the weight loss! Big milestone. @BruinsGal_91 - Congrats on the PR especially after being ill.

Only downside is purchase $$$ will probably come out of my running and race budget since they are both technically entertainment.

@PastorVincent Looks like you guys had a good time. I love target shooting with my DH and we are just getting son into it. I only shoot handguns but I am trying to talk him into getting another AR but in .22 so we aren't lighting as many dollar bills up when we go LOL and the boy will be more comfortable with it.

Congratulations to both of you! Awesome times @midwesterner85 and @cburke8909

Questions for the running gurus: I am working on getting consistent with 4 runs a week. I am trying to get up to 2 short runs of 2-3 miles each, one of them hills or speed work the other just an easy run, 1 run of 4 miles and 1 run of 6 miles. I am planning on running Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun. Does it matter if I do an easy…

I would also be interested.

@MobyCarp - It looks rural to me but I run mostly in suburbia. @9voice9 - awesome job on a surprise race. @juliet3455 - Great job on the PR!!!

I was supposed to do the half but training wasn't going well so I had to pass. I am going to try to go to the expo Friday morning when they open before I have to take J to a scouting camp for hockey.
-
@kgirlhart - It looks like you are handling the distance well. Why not sign up? If the heat is to bad then it becomes a training run and you take your time and meet new people.

Sorry this is long. Goals for Football Hall of Fame 5k (first of a 4 race football themed series) : 1. Stay healthy and injury (don't do anything stupid) 2. Stay relaxed in the crowd (no panic attacks) 3. Have fun (I do this because I enjoy running) My 5k was good. Weather was nice and cool on the drive down to Canton,…

Congrats @Stoshew71. Way to persevere.

@7lenny7 , @MNLittleFinn , @Bakins929 , @MobyCarp Thank you for the help. I am a worrier by nature and tend to overthink. I do have a pair of Smartwool ankle socks that will do the trick and will not seal up my shoes. I will pack extra clothes (did not think about that honestly). Awww @WhatMeRunning you take all the fun…

Question for the more seasoned runners on here: I have a 5K tomorrow, the first of a challenge series, and it is supposed to be thunderstorms all day and mid 60's. The race is an hour and a half away so I am trying to be over prepared. I am good with running in light rain but I have never done it in heavy rain or storms.…

I am working on base building and trying to add a day to my run week, going from 3-4 days per week. I am going to set a conservative goal of 50 miles for May since my runs will be a little shorter until I get used to the extra day then I can add more miles.

@7lenny7 Sorry to hear about your MIL. My thoughts and prayers will be with your family.
