Mmm bacon. Speaking of bacon, Ireland's bacon is different. When I went there I'd heard it would be different but didn't know how. Turned out to be like our Canadian (peameal) bacon. Which is fine...but I didn't realize how much I loved our "normal" bacon until it was gone... also can't help but feel like everyone there…

Just the username gameofthrone is enough for me to say yes :) edit for typo.

It's right below my ribs, right in the centre of my stomach, so upper abdomen. One of the times I had one of these "stomach aches" I had a lot of upper back pain but I don't know if it was from it or not, I remember wondering why my back hurt thinking maybe because it was my TOM even though I never experience back pain…

Wow so many with similar stories, and occasionally different problems but similar symptoms, thanks everyone who has shared! It gives me something to think about for sure, and if it turns out to not be the gall bladder I'm glad some people have shared with similar stories with different issues that I can always look into.…

Oh right, also do measurements! I can't stress this enough, whenever the scale stops moving for a while, usually my measurements still go down so absolutely do this :)
-
It's really hard to say what the reason is as I don't know if you're logging completely accurately (I found when I started using a scale I was like wow okay, I was eating more than I thought!) so that's a possibility. You may just also need to give it more time, you won't lose the same amount each week, some weeks there…

Welcome! Don't worry you can do this, we actually have pretty similar stats. I'm 5'7" as well, started 276 (yikes) and currently down 22lbs in about 2months, started off quick and has slowed to a good rate. Now 253.8lbs. Goal weight is first 160 but I think ultimately 140-150ish would be ideal for me. It takes some time to…

haha, knowing it's bread, I think I could...

I saw Frozen twice, loved it. Before that I saw Catching Fire three times. In my defense I really like going to the movies and always go multiple times with different people, a lot of the time my friend will want to see something I already have so if it's good I'll go again :)

My one cat likes to sit/lay in front of my when I do Zumba, I think he must want me to accidentally step on him... The other sometimes will lay on the floor beside me and roll around, so she must think it's time to play, it almost seems like she's trying to participate in the workout. It's cute.

Well, I got some blood work done and have an ultrasound booked for next Friday so we'll see what happens. Until then the doctor recommended to try to lower my fat intake. Some of your stories sound very familiar though... I've noticed an increase in heartburn in this past year, I normally never used to get it and do…

Wow, sorry you've all had to deal with this! I'm heading to the doctors soon but thanks all for sharing, it's definitely helpful and mine doesn't sound as sever as some but does sound similar, we shall see what the doctor thinks.

Hello my fellow Canadians! London, Ontario here :) Feel free to add me!

I know what you mean, for me I've found pants a few places, old navy was pretty good, sometimes it's good to invest in something a bit more pricey but so worth it, but sucks when you're losing weight because you don't want to spend a lot if it won't fit for too long! I'm about 5'7" so close to your height, I find I can get…

Thanks so much everyone! I'm hoping it's nothing serious but as much as it would suck, I guess gall bladder could be one of the not as terrible things it could be, I mean there are always worse things. Yeah my mom and brother had the surgery and from what I remember recovery was quick and minimal scarring so at least if I…

What should you do? Post about it on mfp of course!

Sure would looks like we've got lots in common and similar goals! Eta, posted at same time! But yes to both ladies :)

I think it depends on how much you have to lose. If you had 30lbs, you'd easily see that 11lbs lost, but when like me you're trying to lose 100+, I'm down 22lbs and can't really tell yet. But my clothes fit differently, take your measurements as well because it helps when you can't visually see a differences, I also…

I love tattoos, I have four and intend to get many more over the years once I've lost weight. Don't care though if someone does or doesn't like them/have them, but I'm always glad to have new friends on here for support :)

Awesome! You look great and that's an amazing accomplishment!

Wow! Everyone looks amazing! This is super inspirational, I can't believe how different everyone looks!

Honestly I've been finding that almost anytime I eat out I've had an upset stomach, and usually feel nauseous with a bad stomach ache through the night it's horrible. I used to eat out all the time and now if I do or just eat less healthy foods I feel sick. I think your body gets used to not having it then sort of rejects…

Wow lots in here listed that I don't like either, but lots that I do so that's at least good. Off the top of my head: Olives, hummus, sweet potatoes (I want to like them but just..no), celery, cauliflower (though for cauliflower I can eat it if it's mixed with broccoli and cheese, or half and half mash with potato),…

I go to both, love tims iced cappuccinos and usually would go there if I were hungry as I prefer most of their food options (Starbucks has some tasty snacks though), I love me some Starbucks as well, but try to limit it as it's so expensive. The one thing I really like about Starbucks though is the options for drinks, you…

Welcome! I'm 22, 100+ to lose, and I'm pretty active on here and supportive :)

Way to go! And welcome to the forums, there's a lot of interesting stuff in here and it's a great way to get advice, make friends and learn :) Congrats on your success so far :)

I think one thing that may be helpful is to see a dietitian and go over the foods you do like and create a meal plan based on them. I also like the hidden veggies idea, try to incorporate them with other foods cut up small so you don't notice them so much. Maybe try something new every week and try to prepare it in…

I think it's great you're taking this into consideration, as someone who grew up with un-diagnosed ADHD, I always had unhealthy snacks easily accessible to me and not well-monitored. There is certainly that impulsive side that makes it hard especially when you're young. I think as he's young you have the ability to control…

Hey, I was actually talking about this yesterday, I'm sure I have SAD, I notice a huge difference for me especially from January to March when it's cold, snowy and grey I'm generally down, feel more stressed, want to stay inside and hibernate but can't...but I also know getting out and seeing people makes me feel better,…

I lost my dad Sept. 2012 to kidney cancer. He was diagnosed November 2011, so died less than a year later. I was 20 when he died, my younger brother was 14 and it was hard on us and the rest of our family. It was a rough time for sure. I'm very sorry for everyone else's losses here as well, feel free to add me or message…
