I'm 5'1 so a little shorter and currently around 97 or 98 pounds but a year and a half ago I was able to maintain around 90 pounds and I've always been petite so it's not unhealthy for me. I'd like to aim for 95 or lower, just to lose a little body fat and regain some muscle. Measurements are 32-24-32 so I'm not really…

I read the article--very interesting! It's crazy how we're always told to eat less, move more to lose weight but that going too far with that can lead to weight gain. I'm hoping that my body's just telling me to listen to it more, instead of being hyper-focused on eating clean and working out as much as possible every day.

I'm only 5'1 and the same weight as you and when I posted about wanting to lose weight, I was told I need to gain some so you certainly do being 5 inches taller than me! I've struggled with an eating disorder for 5 years and yes, it is hard to accept that you need to gain weight to be your healthiest, but it's so much…

I like working out daily just to stay active and it improves my mood, but I'm wondering if taking a rest day weekly would improve my fitness or at least help me lose a little body fat. I do a mix of strength training, cardio and yoga so I don't get burned out and I always hear the benefits of taking rest days but I always…

Thanks, but I already do yoga 1-2x per week as I think I mentioned in my OP and I also said I've eliminated all simple sugars and get all my sugars from fruit and veggies. I'm just wondering if there's any possible way I can build muscle/lose a few pounds of fat doing at home strength training and cardio workouts. I only…

I should have clarified that I'm not as concerned with the number on the scale as I used to be, I was just upset that I've gained 5 pounds since May and I'm unsure if it is muscle or not, since I've never had my body fat measured. I would actually love to have more muscle and shed some body fat to have a more lean look! I…

My thighs have always been something I've never really loved. I'm learning to appreciate them, and I like that they're pretty muscular, but the shape of them bothers me for whatever reason, and I'm still trying to get over the fact that my thighs aren't meant to be 16 inches around like they were when I was struggling with…

I am still a vegan, and have been for the past 2 years. Since then, I've cleaned up my diet a LOT and no longer eat soy, faux meat/dairy products or gluten. I honestly feel a lot healthier eating this way and I don't have any intention of eating animal products anytime soon. I tried eggs a few months ago, which I haven't…

I'm glad someone who's also struggled with anorexia posted here, because I feel like there's more of a sense of understanding. I have to agree with you about the doctor situation. I've been seeing my current doctor since 2012 and she has not had the most helpful of comments when I've had appointments with her. She's said…

Do you chew gum? When I chewed sugar-free gum on a regular basis, it would often give me headaches. Possibly from the chewing motion, or the bad stuff in sugar-free gum. Now I chew a more natural sugar-free gum less often, and I don't have as many headaches.

Thanks for all the answers! I'm going to my doctor in 2 weeks and I will be bringing up these lingering ED thoughts with her then. What I'm confused about in this post is how I could be gaining at 1500 calories. I do measure my food, but I don't weigh because I don't have a scale, so I know my measurements may be a bit…

I think 1200 is more suitable when you have less weight to lose, and it's better in the long run to lose weight in a slow, healthy manner. If you can eat 1800 calories and still lose weight, do that because it will make transitioning into a maintenance diet easier.

Bumping because I'd really like some kind of answer on this! My eating history is complicated but it's confusing as to why I'm now gaining weight when nothing has changed--if anything, I've cleaned up my eating and am working out more than ever. Maybe I need to change things up so my body doesn't get used to my current…

If you struggle with binge eating, it's probably best NOT to eat 1200 calories. If you eat too few calories for what you're burning through exercise and other daily activity, your body will be crying out for more food, which can lead to binges. Since you have experience eating more calories and losing weight, and that…

I'm 5'1, 90 ish pounds and I wear a 00 to 0 in juniors sizes. I'm only 20, so I tend to still shop in juniors stores, but I know adult sizes vary a lot between stores, and a lot of them seem like they'd be big on me! I've always felt like I wear a large size in proportion to my weight since a lot of women my height who…

5'1 90 ish pounds Not sure about BF 17-17.5 inch thighs 10.5 inch calves I know the measurements themselves may seem small, but I'm a petite person so I feel like my thighs are HUGE! My calves are a decent size, I just wish I could slim down my thighs a bit. Even lifting and doing squats hasn't helped, if anything they've…
