I have cut WAY back on the drinks. Used to have a beer with dinner most nights, now I have water. I drink beer/cocktails at the weekends, and then I limit myself to no more than 3 total drinks. I find I would rather eat my calories than drink them. I like food!

100% agree. Could not respond to OP any better.

I should have said that commercial mayo is ok. She is right, it has the right pH and it is cooked. I make fresh mayo weekly, so that would not be ok. I often forget that other people do not make their own mayo like I do. Duh! :D

I agree with the other posters ... an ice pack - or even a frozen bottle of water - is the way to go! That said, as long as your food is not in extreme temps - super hot or super cold - most foods are ok at room temp for a few hours. Hard boiled eggs, cheeses, hummus, cream cheese, Laughing Cow cheeses (which are often…

^^ This.

You need more bacon.

When you post your story you invite people to judge you. Let's face it, when we post a success story it is because we want the kudos. Some people are jerk-bags and will try to pee in your Cheerios. In a perfect world people would be supportive no matter how much we lose. Sadly, we live in a world where anyone can get on…

I do not FEEL all that different, but all my pants are very loose and I had to buy a smaller belt for my work pants. Also, I measure and I have lost inches. I can see some changes - more muscle definition in my abs and thighs, my bingo wings (upper arms for those of you not from the South) are smaller. I suspect I will…

Here is my recipe: Taco Seasoning Yield enough to season 1 pound of ground meat 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 teaspoon cumin 1 teaspoon coriander 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch 1/4 teaspoon onion powder 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon kosher salt (or 1/2 teaspoon table salt) 1/2 teaspoon black…

I have not cut anything out 100%, I just eat less of the bad stuff. Less bacon, less pizza, fewer cookies. I still eat what fits my cals and macros, just not as much and not as often. So far it has worked well for me. Not once have I felt deprived or had a 'food sad' because I could not have something I love.

I buy pasture raised, antibiotic free, organic eggs from a local farmer, via our Farmer's Market, for two reasons. First, I prefer to buy eggs from chickens who are allowed to roam on a pasture and do what chickens do. I have been to the farm and seen the conditions and I approve. Cage raised eggs, or even conventional…

I log any time in the car that is over 10 minutes, unless the road is very bumpy. I find that I get a much more accurate picture of my calories this way. If I do not log my drive to and from work it will give me as many as 2000 extra steps, 25 flights of stairs, and lord knows how many calories burned. So, I always log. I…

Yay! I am so glad you liked them!! :D

I was using the MFP settings for three months and lost 20 pounds then I got stuck and did not lose for a month. I switched to TDEE -20% two weeks ago and lost three pounds. TDEE -20% is the way to go!

Today we had a birthday party at the office and someone brought in a cream cheese pie. I had a tiny slice and it was about 200 cals .. but worth each bite! :D I will have a smaller dinner to compensate.

That roller looks intense! I just ordered one on Amazon. I can't wait to try it out!

This is the internet. I think we all know that the answer is no.

Well, I for one am concerned with people who keep their diaries open. What, are you some kind of show off? An exhibitionist? Are you keeping your diary open as a way to show the world that you are better than they are? I worry that these people are keeping their diaries open not for help and support but because they think…

Do you actually weight and measure your food? It is amazing how much people overestimate portion sizes. I recommend you invest in a kitchen scale, if you have not already, and measure what you eat. Also, do you log everything you consume? Drinks, a piece of candy, and such? Some people make the mistake of eating a cookie…

Was the seat warm? Then yes ... yes it is.

I started at 1350 per day and lost for the first two weeks, then I hit a wall and did not lose for three weeks. I upped my calories, based on a metabolic assessment, to 1550 - started wearing a Fitbit, and I eat most of my exercise calories - taking me to around 1800 per day on average - and I have lost a steady 1.5 pounds…

Awesome! You look fantastic! Thank you for sharing!

^^ This ... trust him, he knows! I follow the road map plan and I am losing steady and I am never hungry.

^ This FTW!!

Oh good ... this again. I like them, some don't. Search them on the message boards. Loads of info. Also, loads of snark. Some is pretty awesome.

My friend tried something like this ... she wanted a quick fix. It was pretty much garbage. It may work for some, but I would rather just do the crunches.

I love these noodles! Be sure to rinse then WELL, then I put them in the microwave for 3-4 minutes to get out the excess water. They take on the flavor of what they are cooked with, so be sure to use a flavorful sauce or dressing. They are a life saver for me. On nights when I have a handful of calories I use these noodles…

The 'Holidays' are not an excuse. I'm sorry, but it just isn't. You need to look at why you wanted to lose weight in the first place and decide if that is less important than eating endless cookies, candy, and holiday treats. If it is then we have nothing else to say. If it isn't, then you need to get back on the wagon.…
