I hate to cook, so I go super-simple. Some of my go-to L&Gs are: 3 scrambled eggs with added 'green' such as - spinach, mushrooms, green peppers, onion. Whatever combo of amounts equals a 'green' for whatever I feel like that day. This makes a full plate of food, especially with more spinach than other items. 7 oz. of…

Don't be so down on yourself! You remind me very much of my mom (and of my aunt, who also had knee replacements, but hasn't managed to lose the weight). The difference is, you are *getting somewhere* with your weight loss. You're super-determined, and it's showing. And just as I valued (and still value) my mom and aunt,…

The only time I feel particularly gassy is when I've had more than one of the crunch bars. It's the sugar alcohols that do it. I don't know about the soy - I think that perhaps some people are simply more sensitive to it. I've eaten soy products all my life, and they don't generally do that to me. (There's one product that…

Yeah, I don't mention it there. It's easier to stick to forum sections specifically for MF. In their defense, on the surface of it, it does sound 'fishy' - if only because it's been so drilled into the common consciousness that a very-low-calorie diet is "dangerous". That riles them up, and they're not prepared to listen…

Yeah, I only soak the soups for a couple of hours, using the hot water from the cooler at work. When I'm ready to eat, I just nuke for 1 minute, and they're fine. I generally like the oatmeals, but then, I like my oatmeal lumpy and glue-y to begin with, ha ha! So I actually probably use LESS water than called for, and only…

Very nice! I agree, Power 90 is a great program. I got sick with bronchitis a few weeks into it the last time I tried (so I didn't see any measurable results, though my weights and endurance increased), but I'm looking forward to starting it up again soon.

If I hadn't seen the before pics, I'd think that you were simply 'naturally skinny' - as in, not 'too thin', just someone who has a frame that's naturally on the thin side. Perhaps a little bit 'bony', but not because you aren't eating, just that it's simply the way you came out of the box! Given that look contrasted with…

Actually, that's a really good idea - sign up for a coach! It sounds like you're the type of person who would really enjoy/benefit from having a coach to help support you on your journey. I do encourage you to be committed to it, though. If you're committed, you'll find that it *does* work. I think you'll be excited to see…

For me, it's been about 3 months, 17 pounds down.....and I haven't changed sizes yet. :-( I have gone from an uncomfortably tight fit on one particular pair of pants, to having them fit quite nicely, even 'loosely'. I've gone from wearing some other pants comfortably, no belt, to *requiring* a belt on them so I'm not…

Good! :-) I see you work in a daycare? My only question would be, how flexible is your schedule, meaning - will you be easily able to eat every 2-3 hours, including the slight prep that most of the MF foods take (unless it's a bar or puffs or something)? Most items need at least mixing, and some need soaking/microwaving.…

I haven't been a regular swimmer in a few years, but I know that I never saw any fat-loss results with it (and when I did swim, it was always seriously, continuously, goal-in-mind kind of swimming). I love swimming, because it makes me feel good, and it's meditative.....but I've never seen any kind of measurable change in…

I think that the MF plan sort of takes that into account. It understands that your calorie *intake* will be in the 900-cal range, and if they're allowing you 30 minutes of not-terribly-strenuous exercise, they understand that you will also be burning calories with that, which puts your net calories likely below 750, at…

It's so interesting to see what everyone looks like at this height, and varying weights. It's so individual. I'm 5'1", and at 131 right now, but I feel like I look about like your 'before' picture. There are other threads floating around about 'squishy fat' - and that's what I'm cursed with. If my weight/fat were more…

She may be taking her cues from either fashion mags (ugh), or friends who may well be close to that weight, either unhealthily, or they're shorter, or they're simply built differently from her - or they're even lying about their weight, you never know. (I see so many teens who do appear to be 'naturally' at this kind of…

11 weeks, 17 pounds, yay! It's finally beginning to start to feel like real 'loss' - 10-11 pounds of 'holiday weight' that I never really felt I owned, so it didn't 'count', and a handful of pounds that weren't far enough below my usual 'set point' weight that I didn't trust them, you know? But I'm seeing a number on the…

I had the pancakes plain for a while, too. :-) I get the 30-calorie, unsweetened Almond Breeze milk - that's 30 cals a CUP, and I only use 1/2 a cup at a time, so that adds 15 calories, and 1 carb. I believe it's considered a 'condiment' on the plan, but I'm not 100% sure, since I don't track my foods strictly within the…

Excellent! thanks so much!

Have you tried the cereal with 1/2 cup of almond milk? I've discovered that I really like that - and I am normally a 'real milk only please' kind of girl. I can now have my daily cereal, yay! That said, the first cereal packet I had, I tried with a 1/2 of the vanilla shake as 'milk'......that was *disgusting*.

That meal is *amazing*. SO good. It does add a bunch of calories and a carb or two, with the egg beaters and the cheese slice though, so do be aware. Everyone's tastes are so different - you *really* can't go by what someone else loves, or hates. For instance, I like the chili just fine, and I eat the chicken noodle soup…

If those are real, God's playing favorites. ;-) That said, there's some great work going on there.

This is a great idea, and I was going to suggest something along those lines. Like - you say you're in the same weight-loss program? Are you (or were you) anywhere close to her current size? Perhaps you can offer her some item from your closet, saying 'hey, I tried this on and it didn't really fit me, but I think it would…

Potassium and magnesium. I used to get them often enough - but I don't think I've had one since pregnancy, over 8 years ago. A couple of quick scares, but rapidly flexing my foot seems to have saved me. I had a *severe* cramp while pregnant once - flexing and rubbing seemed to do nothing for it. I ended up having to sleep…

Is he watching his carb intake, even at the higher calorie levels? Perhaps he can try to keep his carbs under 100, and only add in more protein/fat calories? Also, is he following transition 'properly' - as in, only adding back one thing at a time, and holding it there for a while, before adding the next thing back? (I may…

Ooh, excellent! I will have to try that. I found that I did not like the pomegranate cherry shakes as much as I expected to.
-
......I really hope you meant "seconds" there, not "minutes"! O_O That does sound good, though, I'll have to try it.
-
It sure sounds like it. I will have to try that - by my calculations, when I make hamburgers for my L&G, I end up with two hamburger patties. If I spread those out into two 'meals' each with an oatmeal 'bun', and then had my green either split into two alongside those meals, or completely separately....that might make for…

This - and also all of what Keisha said. Your feet go numb because you have constant pressure on them. It's not particularly dangerous, as far as I know, it's just uncomfortable. So, to alleviate it - relieve the pressure! Sometimes that means going backwards for a bit (the pressure moves to your heel from your toes),…

Oh goodness yes, spaghetti squash! I love it just with butter and salt, but I often add a spoonful of diced stewed tomatoes over it - usually the kind that have basil, garlic and onion added. SO tasty. For lean, if I'm feeling lazy (which is often), I'll just do a couple of MSF grillers, or some other vegetarian 'meat'…

Sounds great, except for #8 - you absorb more nutrients from your salad with the addition of a little bit of healthy fat. http://www.purdue.edu/newsroom/research/2012/120619FerruzziSalad.html

That drives me freaking *insane*. In my mind, if it's an item that you're sharing with the entire database, it should have *exactly* what's written on the label. If it doesn't.....then store it in 'my foods', and use it yourself to your heart's content, without making everyone else swim past your altered entry in the…
