  • I think, as with everything, you can find as many articles that say things are bad for you as there as many that say something is good for you. http://authoritynutrition.com/why-is-coffee-good-for-you/ http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/features/coffee-new-health-food I personally only drink decaff as caffeine makes me…
  • yep recommend the app. I use this when I travel as I don't want to cart weights with me
  • I suppose it depends what your frame size is as mine is tiny and I'm carrying waaaay too much. If your frame is bigger a lower weight will just make you look emaciated!! Also really want to hang onto as much muscle as possible so we'll see how it turns out
  • I'm heading for 124 & 18%. I think when I get closer though it will start bouncing around a bit juggling weight with BF till it settles where I'm happy
  • I've used it for the last 2 months and had a break of about 2 weeks for holiday as had no access and didn't want to get fined!! If you choose a lower amount of day its just any of those out of the 7. For example I do 6 out of 7, I log everyday but on Sunday I made a booboo and forgot to split out my food over 3 meals and…
  • I came back from hols 2 weeks ago, I was away for about 10 days, I forgot my fitbit charger had no internet access and so couldn't log with MFP, all self control went out the window especially as my husband threw caution to the wind as we weren't logging. I went up 5 pounds eek!! came home went back to what I was…
  • I do IIFYM and my diary's always open, happy to friend anyone
  • West Dorset
  • This actually made me spit the water I was drinking at my screen..lol:laugh:
  • I downloaded iBody yesterday for my husband to use, just checked and it seems to sync with any HRM but you'll have to double check. You choose what activity you're doing and works everything else out for you, but it also has GPS and covers your runs/walking etc. Hopefully its some use to you?
  • I use IIFYM and sometimes after dinner I have a big deficit left I have a protein shake, cheese, ham or stick a spoon of PB in my protein shake and find out these give me that extra boost if there's too much of a shortfall. Diary open if you want to have a look. I sometimes don't mind having a small shortfall but if, like…
  • I don't think its included in my MFP numbers as I have MFP set at sedentary, so if I don't do the work, I don't get to eat it back if that makes sense. Also the 4-450 calories is all the activity, not just the walking. I also don't record activity using MFP as I don't trust the numbers, it's always way higher that Fitbit…
  • Oh yes! I learnt the hard way about the tape measure (lol) I weigh in once a week now, and every 3-4 weeks get attacked with a tape measure as well  I must admit with what I've been recording it has been pretty steady and other than the bumpy start with the lifting (lovely retained water) it's been fine since.…
  • To be honest I'd only use the HRM for the rowing & strength training not the walking bit as that's tracked through my FitBit. I know my BMR, so are you suggesting I just divide that by 24 to find out my hourly rate? (that works out at 70 an hour also taking fat % play) I didn't realise that it's no good for strength…
  • HRM monitor arrives today!! I thought that may be the only way to definitively find out. And yes this also includes my 2 hour walk.
  • I do about 30 minutes rowing, and I started 5x5 stronglifts a few weeks back so for example I'm up to squatting with 60lbs.
  • I have MFP set at sedentary and negative calories from FitBit, so each morning I start off in a negative. At the end of the day I'll have an extra 2-300 over my sedentary calories through all the walking I've done and any other manually recorded exercise. Therefore if I have a day where I don't even get off my bum I'll…
  • I'm in the Uk and I get biltong & the zero calorie sauces (Walden farm) from Musclefood online. They've loads of stuff available.
  • Another vote for this pub!

  • I use Fitbit alongside MFP also, I have it set also towards negative calories to they are really in sync & have it set at sedentary. I record all activity on Fitbit and that in turn feeds back to MFP. This means calories allowed changes dynamically through the week dependant on activity for each particular day, as long as…
  • So true! And this is why MY red wine comes by the case :drinker:
  • You and me both!! I'm taking this with a large pinch of salt and I'm going to carry regardless, Unless a health professional tells me otherwise it's staying the same. Also come to think of it then is there anybody in mainland Europe not an alcoholic by these rules?? I watched on TV this week that the French/italian/Greece…
  • Well before I moved into finance I ran pubs in the UK for 12 years just over 100 in total. I agree with you in some aspects, the ones that do drink REALLY know how to put it away and to make matters worse there have been a few times where keys have been confiscated. However; now I don't work in that arena I'm beginning to…
  • Buy a tape measure!! Don't need batteries, you don't need a level floor, it fits in your pocket and usually will show more movement than the scale. THIS will keep you motivated, keep a chart of various different body parts, one week you may not lose anthing on your waist (or some other bit) but then you find out you've…
  • I personally feel that this is too much, as it works out to be about 30lbs over 8 weeks which is some going!! I would say you'll drop a bit of a chunk in the first week but depending on how much you have to lose (if over 75lbs for example) you should aim to lose about 2lb a week. Less to lose, aim for a 1lb a week. How…
  • Apology accepted  I do agree though in certain circles it does have a tendancy to go on more than we think. When I worked in the city it was usually who isn't!! Good for you sticking by your own rules, when it seems all around you there are bad influences.
  • Really? Most? Tad of a sweeping generalisation?? :noway:
  • Can't believe I'm sat at my desk trying this out at work!! Please don't let anybody catch me :noway:
  • Today ran out of holes on my belt!! My hubby had to make a new one with a nail & hammer!!
