  • I'm not a body builder...just a regular person..so I have protein bars for convenience and as a decent snack. I'm sure there are more healthful choices out there but my favorites for taste/decent protein are Zone Cashew & Pretzel bars and also enjoy the Target brand bars..double dark chocolate I think.
  • Ok, I'm in your ballpark. I started this thing at 136, same height. I've lost 19 lbs so I'm at 117. Of course I'm 42 and not in college so I had definite metabolism issues to overcome. I started out with 1200 calories and walking 45 min on the treadmill every day. The weight started coming off...then I plateaued at around…
  • Weird I'll have to look for that because I've definitely had days that I was under, just not a trend. Those of you that are consistently going under, think about having a protein drink or something throughout the day just to give yourself decent calories.
  • Oh, I forgot to go back and check this one. I'm sorry. Ways that I add protein...let's see...hard boiled eggs are 70 calories, my husband takes the yolk out but I don't. Protein bars I like: Zone cashew and pretzel is my current favorite, love the zone strawberry and yogurt, target actually has a good line of protein bars…
  • Actually, none of those (for me) are lies. Just meant that I state my real reasons for losing those "vanity pounds"...of course I just want to look better too but people tend to take the health reasons much better.
  • There is a starvation warning?? Well, I've never gotten that. Weird.
  • Firstly, people are rude and should keep their comments to themselves unless they are positive. I've found the following comebacks to be very effective in shutting people up. 1--Diabetes runs in my family so I don't want to overdo it on the sugar. 2--My rheumatologist says keeping to the lower end of the normal range on…
  • It's the caffeine. This probably won't be a popular answer...but drink a diet coke each day.
  • Drink lots of water and see if you can find a chelated magnesium supplement...helps my husband with the carb stuff.
  • I agree. "This is working so far, but I'll remember that if I hit a plateau and need to shake things up." I have the friend telling me she'd love to lose weight like I am but she doesn't have time to exercise. Um, I work 2 jobs, husband and daughter, household to run...she's single. You do what works for you and take the…
  • Actually, I disagree on the adding starch to your dinner. I can't tell by looking at your diary when you are having all these snacks...but it is very apparent that you eat bigger meals (or more calories) with your breakfast and lunch than you do at dinner. How do you really structure your calories throughout the day? It's…
  • Honestly, I've had that little pooch my whole life....and I truly believe it's related to diet. I've increased protein and do ab exercises every day...and it's almost gone.
  • We have all kinds of issues in our household of three...myself, husband and daughter. My husband is doing a low-carb thing with no rice, potatoes, bread, pasta. My daughter is vegetarian. I'm doing the "everything in moderation" approach. So what I do...is make some kind of lean meat for myself and my husband, vegetarian…
  • So here are my thoughts, for what they are worth. I adore wine...was at the point of drinking 2-3 glasses a night, using my exercise calories. I enjoy the taste, very relaxing, over the course of several hours not hammered just relaxed and sleepy when time for bed. I got to a point in my weight loss where I'd been on a…
  • Giggle...sweep the leg...that's good. I THOUGHT I was exhausted when they were babies, then they learned to walk and I realized what exhaustion was.
  • Fat free greek yogurt (strawberry) and a zone perfect cashew and pretzel bar....still excited about that breakfast...YUM. Maybe next time I'll dunk the bar IN the yogurt...Holy cow!
  • Amen. Beautifully written. I don't think I could say it better myself.
  • Oh honey....she will walk when she's good and ready and you need to enjoy the time NOW. Once they walk....you get NO rest.
  • For those commenting on it being too expensive, I just signed up for one that's sooner (March 17) but it was only $35. It's in Pocahontas State Park which is beautiful. It's called the Instant Classic Marathon Trail Run. There is a full marathon and a half marathon.
  • I truly believe in recycling of all forms. We have freecycle here and I get a lot of stuff that way. We also go to goodwill and salvation army. My daughter is all excited to get these name brand jeans etc. and wants to brag about how cheap she gets them and i have to tell her not to tell her friends etc. She's like "why…
  • It seems like you haven't "emotionally" caught up with your weight loss. I had a friend that lost over 100 lbs and said she was frustrated because she still walked like a fat girl even though she wasn't fat. You've got to find a way to wrap your brain around the hot creature that you are...and you are deserving of a hot…
  • OMG these are such mature responses to all of these quotes. Kudos...now, take this outpouring of support and rock it. You can do it...you already have.
  • All i can say is...look at the picture on the right. You have an amazingly hot body that you should be proud of...yes, you have to work for it...and you have to decide if that's worth it. This is about determining your lifestyle and if keeping that body doesn't fit in with the lifestyle you want to have...you need to…
  • I hate when people say "no offense" because you know that means they are saying something offensive.
  • I like the generic "great burn" or something on my exercise when it was the worst workout in weeks and I struggled with it. My friends haven't been like that too much but I've seen it on others. Seriously...great burn cleaning the house? Didn't you do that before?
  • GW: 115 CW: 121 SW: 136 Height: 5'2 Age: 42 Sex: Female Would think it's cute to have a "twin" but I like all friends too.
  • My name is Stephanie Evers and I married my husband on 12/27/03 so I became Steph Evers on 12 27 :)
  • IT Teacher in a high school and adjunct faculty at community college teaching Cisco Networking.
  • Not sure, but since I'm on synthroid I couldn't take this...right? I remember Jillian Michaels had a supplement out and my husband and I tried it. I felt fantastic...lots of energy etc., but then they changed the formula and it wasn't as good. Wonder if it's similar.
  • Yay! That was a nice compliment! Haha, my husband said I looked good naked the other day...i'll take it!
