Gail, it is a thrill to go clothes shopping now! I am still so surprised when I try things on and they look so good. I bought two dresses last week and I am still amazed! I have been really maintaining. No gains and no losses in over two weeks. Maybe I am getting the hang of this. The one thing I am accepting is that…

If you know that you are not eating refined sugars then track something different like fiber. You can change your settings to not include the sugar. D

How very kind of you to be concerned with what the other person might be thinking. Some people just go through rough times but do come back!! I delete people if it has been several months though. If I feel like I built a rapport with someone I keep them a bit longer. I delete creepy people or don't even friend them to…

Macmadame, I really wish I knew what my body fat % was. Everyone says that the scales and hand held are inaccurate as are other methods except immersion and the other expensive ones. At this point in out lives, I just cannot rationalize the expense. But the curiosity level is overwhelming!!!

Barbie, good for you!!! I think recognizing that one can be too thin is a real sign of wisdom. We only have one body and we need to care for it. It is possible to abuse our bodies just as much by being underweight as it is being overweight. I really do think that I have found a comfortable pattern for maintenance. My…

I have a rebounder, too and love it! We used to have a trampoline until a wind storm took it out. I also use the rebounder to do the Wii runs. Running/jogging on the rebounder has really helped me. My knees and joints are always an issue for me so the low impact makes a big difference.:flowerforyou: The only problem…

If I thought that by eating more food I would eventually plateau then I would be happy with the higher weight. But this has been such a slow journey for me. It took over 5 years to lose those 63 pounds so my maintenance and my weight loss calories are not very different.

It probably means that I am not doing it right but I only pause about 10 seconds in between reps so I don't get off. There are others who are sitting doing nothing for a lot longer than that. I have a limited amount of time so I get to as many machines as I can in the 30-35 minutes allotted. Also, although I don't use it,…

Hi all, Welcome Rebecca, I joined in when I was really close as well. Yo-yo-ing is what we all fear! For the past month, I have been doing something different and I think it might be working. I am allowing myself some splurge days here and there and simply watching on the other days. I have also taken to fasting for short…

Welcome! I am sure you can do this!

enjoying this thread!:flowerforyou: Listen to your body. Some days you can bring it on hard and some days you just cannot but always give your body a chance. Some days, I think, "oh, I just can't do this today" but by the time I warm up with a quick walk for 10 minutes, I am ready and so happy that I didn't give in.

That last comparison (trying to use your scales to measure grams) was the very best I have ever heard!!

Robin, Oh, how I wish it were higher!! I keep trying to make it higher but then I end up gaining. I am 46 years old, 5 ft. 1 and 1/2 inches tall and currently weigh 121-122. I am a homeschooling mom which means that really I spend a lot of my day sitting or standing while teaching them. I exercise almost every day. I tried…

I really need to set better goals as well. I like the food type goals! I did so well when I was setting minutes of exercise goals. Right now, I have a limited time membership for the YMCA, so I am taking advantage of that as much as possible. How accurate are the hand held body fat monitors? They have one at the Y.…

My CNM once told me that for every 10 pounds we lose, our bodies need to re-adjust, and that includes the endocrine system. I have never researched this personally, but admittedly it is what I experienced. D

First, I am very sorry about your husband and happy to see that you are in a new relationship. What a huge loss especially while in the midst of a residency. My thoughts are sensitive...if it is too much, please just disregard. As you already well know, all of those sex hormones are fat soluble. Without the fat, they just…

Welcome Maxine and dmoses! We seem to go in spurts on this thread. We all seem to be active for a time and then it sits for a couple of days, but when we write it is so positive and supportive. People do not realize how difficult this phase is. Just today, I was complaining to my son that I really thought that after I lost…

I read once that by doing a short (10 minute) warm up that you decrease your risk of injury as it helps increase synovial fluid into your joints. Is this true???? I work out really early in the morning and I am barely awake. I need the 10 minute walk and some stretching before I hit the weight machines. D

Actually, I would have expected Louisiana before AZ. D

I changed my mind about my goal weight over and over!!! I started saying 115 because after having babies, I would get down to 102-110, so it seemed reasonable. Then when I was looking at my weight-loss trend, which was really slow, I raised it to 122. (my wedding day weight). Then when I hit 122 I started to gain again.…

Hi all, Sorry to have been out of the loop a bit. Just super busy. Do you ever find you have to choose between catching up or exercising? This week I picked exercising. Today I am catching up. I hear you on the not wanting to tell people that maintenance is so hard! But the truth is, I am just as confused and…

I would be really ticked off as well. We have a lot of food issues in our family and giving your child something she knew you didn't want him to have indicates to me that something deeper is going on. Is she jealous of your weight loss? or your lifestyle? Does she think that because you do it differently that you are…

I think increasing is a good idea. When I was in my 20's I was having a hard time conceiving after my first child...I had gotten too thin. I worked on gaining and conceived. Then we wanted another baby and I was down to 102. After a year of trying, I finally decided to focus on gaining some weight back. I was eating really…

That is good to hear. Maybe working on toning for a bit longer and then seeing what I look like! Redistributing would be great!

What an incredible inspiration!! You really look amazing! What an accomplishment! Congratulations!!

sorry, I have never heard about it before but by responding it will bump the post so that someone else might see it and know. Spirulina rocks!! D

There are a lot of American's on here but personally I have "friends" from Canada, Australia, and the UK.:drinker: It doesn't matter where you are from. We all have the same goals and this provides a great opportunity me to meet other people whose lives are just like mine and yet also different. My husband is from the…

Why do max heart rate calculations not take into account male or female? D
