Okay! I am in!

As for jeans...sometimes I will stop in at the gym just because I have an extra 15 or 20 minutes and will get on the treadmill. It is better than sitting in the car listening to the radio while waiting for a kid to get out of school or an appointment. My goal isn't to get sweaty or substitute my real workout but just to…

Not really my business and you don't know me, but they are right. This is serious. You are not the "problem", he is. Please, get some help. My prayers!!! D (from freezing pipes, Buffalo, NY)

You ladies are amazing!! I cannot believe the number of posts already!! What an active thread!! I see I have missed a few things...like... My real name is Donna and I almost always sign "D". From Orchard Park, NY a suburb of Buffalo. My goals for March: Increase my fledgling weight lifting to 30 minutes, 4 times per week.…

Thank you for the many welcomes! I am so impressed with how much weight you ladies have lost and kept off!! It will take me a bit to get to know all of you, so forgive me for not replying individually. I will read and cheer you on! Feel free to send me friend requests so that you can see pics and read my stuff. I seldom…

Hi everyone! I turn 50 in June and so I was wondering if I could join your wonderfully supportive group? I am a long timer on MFP and have lose, then injure something and gain, lose, the injure something and gain but never gain it all back. Not proud of that and working really hard right now but the weight is coming off at…

I agree to go with the 4% type and go name brand. It really does taste better. Also, I was recently surprised to realize that cottage cheese had the same calories, more protein, and fewer carbs than the protein powder that I was using. So, no more protein powder for me unless I need if for convenience. D

May I ask what your thoughts are concerning food addictions? I personally find that if I eat a brownie that I cannot stop at one...it starts a whole downward cycle. I have to NEVER eat a brownie to be OK. There are certain foods that are triggers for me and start up a really bad cycle. So, I am honestly asking ( no…

Great post!! Thank you! D

Hi all, I have been around for a long time. I lost the weight. I reached my goal. But then I had nothing to obsess over and I didn't know what to do. Then I broke my foot and later needed breast surgery for what turned out to be a benign papilloma. Bottom line of all that... I thought that when I was skinny, active, and…

The Geneen Roth books have helped me more than any thing else. Also, look up OA. Consider joining. Free and lots of support. D
-
I am just reading it now and wish I had read it years ago. Maybe I am more ready to receive it now and wouldn't have before. How did things go for you? D
-
OP: How is it going? Any better?? I have found that I am also very compulsive...to a fault. I am currently reading a book titled, Women, food, and God by Genine Roth. It is really helping. Hope you find your answer! D

You are amazing!!!

Did you do it??? I just discovered all of this just this past week. I am only on chapter one but thinking of doing her online retreat. I would love to know your experience. D
-
OP: Just catching up on things. I see that you were/are anemic. Once you get that under control you will feel so much better and will nail this again!! Great job!! D

It is so hard to re-focus again. The second (and third or fourth or....) time around you KNOW the hard work that it takes to get it off and instead of focusing on today...all you can see is the next 6 months of "drudgery" and hard work. So, being in the exact same place as you (just a lot older), here is the advice I am…

Great thread!

Congratulations!!! So happy you ran in NYC instead of Boston! I am so dismayed over the news!! D
-
did you do run this?? I was in NYC and my hotel was right near Central Park, so on Sunday morning when the weather was so gorgeous, I decided to go for my morning work out in the Park...and there was this massive half marathon happening! It was amazingly exciting. So, did you go? I might have seen you! D
-
This is exactly what I would say!!!

Praying!!! A prayer request that hits close to home as I am having a lumpectomy next Thursday the 18th! D

The advantage of sending it in is if you swim with it. When you send all of it in, they replace both batteries and re-check it to be sure that it is safe to use in water. For the OP: Fitbit is not accurate for all exercise. I LOVE mine, but I know it is not always accurate. D

'We have tons of allergies and celiac's in our family. Every holiday will find a variety of foods, in fact, you will find two or more versions of the same food on the table that cater to everyone's issues. For example, this Easter we had 3 baked bean different baked bean dishes. It was no problem here at home. For a…

Almost midnight and I have 13444 steps today. Good day! So impressed with the numbers that I am seeing from everyone! D
-
4/1 was terrible. Spent most of the day in bed recovering from Easter! GAH!!! 4/2 It is 5:45 and I have taken two walks. I am over my 10,000 steps and will hopefully get in a bit more. D
-
I use a fitbit that monitors steps taken! I would love to join! D

Nothing smells better than a bush full of lilacs or roses. I love tulips and daffodils when they make their appearance because it means spring is finally here . Daisy's mean summer and that is even better! But my all time favorite is... Black eyed Susans!!! D

Not a chemist, not a nutritionist...just a woman who would like to share her personal experience. I am 48 and for the past 20+ years I have struggled with the negative effects of consuming processed sugars. When I do I get light headed, dizzy, and if I continue eating them over a period of a few days I get irritable as…

Some good resources that I have found are Apologia Science and Teaching Textbooks for Math. I like Easy Grammer with the Daily Gram books. We also love everything with the Critical Thinking Co. Another favorite is WriteatHome. Consider some online virtual classroom type things as they get older. For our older kids they…
