Good info! I made myself one at home in my basement. Works pretty good.

LMAO!

I've had injuries running. Mostly my own fault from over training. A C25K (google it) program is a great way to ease into running. Rule of thumb is to not increase your weekly mileage by more than 10%. I also found that having proper running form (not heal to toe) is key for avoiding joint pain. I highly recommend getting…

So, nobody can do a pull-up? LOL!

My theory is to over estimate on food and under estimate on calories burned for best results. You're only cheating yourself otherwise. You're only a failure, when you quit trying.

Yes, I like to workout 6 days a week. 2-3 cardio & 2-3 strength training. Mixing in a "fun" workout I think is key. I run regularly for my cardio, but will play hockey once a week to mix it up. I also like to do circuits when doing strength training rather than concentrating on one muscle group at a time. Good luck!!

My best was 82 this past summer. I was doing P90x & the 100 push-up challenge during that time. Right now only about 60, but I'm working on it. I have a hard time with pull-ups/chin-ups though. I can only do about 8...ugh!

Try mixing a little of your favorite salsa in with it.

I like this...going to steal it.

Beer is my downfall. But I work hard so I can play hard. I'm sure I'd be in better shape if I gave it up, I'm just not willing to give it up 100%. I tend to drink more during the summer months and maybe once a week during winter.

Before lifting if you were doing a lot of cardio, you were probably burning muscle as well as fat. I'm a true believer that you need to have a balance of strength training and cardio. Strength training will help you keep off the weight in the long run as muscle burn more calories when your sedative. I've yo-yo'd up and…

1. To look good naked 2. To be a roll model for my kids and family 3. To have a better quality of life 4. To relieve stress 5. Because I enjoy it!

Yuuup! I average about 15-20 miles a week. I've ran 3 half-marathons this year (and many shorter races) and my next one is in Oct. It's addictive!!

I've been running regularly for a couple years now. I average around 15-20 miles a week. Get the right shoes! Get the right shoes! Get the right shoes! I can't stress this enough. When I started running I had a lot of knee issues. Changing my shoes to a minimalist style shoe forced me to change my running style/stride (New…

I try to prepare as much as possible the night before. I usually run 3-5 days a week in the AM because it's too damn hot out after work this time of year. I save my strength training to afternoons. I will put my workout gear right next to the bed so I can get dressed right away and not have to go searching for something in…

Completed the Detroit Free Press Full Marathon. Signed up 6 months prior with no running experience. Fought thru IT band issues from mile 15 to mile 26.2, but completed it!

I've been a runner for a couple year. I completed my first full marathon last year and this year I'm running 4 halves and numerous shorter runs (10 mile, 10k, & 5k). I've also started P90X this year. I basically use the P90X for the strength training videos only. For cardio I run instead of the cardio videos (yoga,…

I add some vanilla whey protein to the batter. It adds a little to the calories, but gives me a good protein to carb ratio. I also use a sugar free syrup and no butter. Add a couple turkey sausage links and bam! Damn it, now I'm hungry for some.

No specific program. My family started a Biggest Loser competition, where we had weekly weigh-ins. All of us used MFP to track our calories in/out. That helped make me accountable and added some competition. I worked out 6 days a week for min of 30 minutes. Mostly elliptical, heavy punching bag and running. I would…

Thanks for the kind words! I'm excited for the next phase!!

Now I have the 12 week results

I tend not to have a "cheat day" if I want to eat something that's high-calorie I make sure I workout enough to eat that meal. But I also eat the foods that I want, I do not deprive myself of anything. I just use portion control on those items. For example, I still order pizza once a week...but instead of ordering it with…

I ran it last year in MI and will be running again this year. It's a blast. No special training is needed. Unless you want to work on climbing a rope, crawling on the ground, hurdles, etc... I'd like to try the Tough Mudder or a Spartan run this year as well.

Whether it's a 14 minute mile, a 10 minute mile, or a 6 minute mile...it's still a mile. Work on distance and the speed will come. I ran my first half marathon in June 2011 and my full marathon in Oct 2011 (at ~195 lbs). I started running regularly in April 2011. I'm 5'9" and typically run at a 10 minute mile pace for…

Great job! I'd be interested in your plan. I've recently lost 25 lbs. during a 12 week weight loss competition. In a few weeks we are starting a second phase that will be a 12 week body fat percentage competition. Not sure what my current body fat percentage is. My guess is around 22-25% although I'm 5'9" and about 170…
