  • @Megan91384 Have you been tracking your migraines and possible triggers? I've been on bc (orthotricylen lo, tri-nessa lo, and some other similar one) since I was 19 (now 34). I started having migraines this past summer with a visual aura. Everyone was stumped, doc did an MRI (even had an aura while in the MRI) and it came…
  • @jessiferrrb the reason why the gentle question of "why do you feel you have to eliminate everything" is met with defensiveness is that to someone who is already defensive about their "fitness choices" (and suspects that you may not approve of them) or someone who is just plain hungry because they're basically starving…
  • Nope. No need to re-do it. I checked the list and can confirm that we received your application. We're still setting up things at the castle but owls should start to fly sometime next week.
  • Depending on how bad your addiction is and your level of "need" for cookies. You can call your local Girl Scout office and ask if there are any troops in the area having a booth sale or they may be able to put you in contact with a local scout. (As in the Scout comes to you. Local offices never give out kid's information)
  • I can shed some light on this. I grew up a Girl Scout and my Mom was our troop leader and sometimes the "Cookie Mom" or my Dad was the "Cookie Dad" (fun fact, he had to join Girl Scouts to do this, so my Dad is a Girl Scout :) .) They sell them at this time of year because Girl Scouts of America (the national organization)…
  • I was looking a while back and checked out consumer reports. The polar series is generally considered the most accurate on the market so that's what they use as a baseline. I didn't want the chest strap so I went with the fitbit charge hr which came in pretty close on accuracy if worn correctly (1-3" above the wrist bone).
  • I've been in the challenge for 5 terms now and I can attest to the awesomeness. There's always something going on and there's a lot of support. I always enjoy the food challenges.
  • Go here and apply: https://yumesoraki.typeform.com/to/B6N87l It's a Hogwarts based weight loss challenge here on MFP.
  • Gryffindor here, the challenges are fun, the environment is very supportive, and it's Harry Potter themed....what's not to like?
  • I'm in the same group mostly, I think 32 years old 5' 9" tall SW 210 CW 202.8 GW 160 I don't go to the gym a lot but try to get exercise on my own outside. No kids. No pets at the moment (used to have 2 dogs and I miss them every day) I live in Wisconsin where it's finally starting to get warm. I've been on MFP for a while…
  • Here's a question, hopefully you won't think it impertinent: If we don't get in this round (been wait-listed myself), is there a way we can still participate in the really fun sounding challenges on our own?
  • Hope I get in! Fingers crossed! If I don't get in, I might have to go home and watch all 8 Harry Potter movies while riding the Exercycle just to my HP fix.
  • Sorry, forgot you were vegetarian for a minute....ignore the first half of pizza tip #2 I assume the fact that you're eating pizza means you aren't vegan, so tip #5 is still valid, correct?
  • Is there a Papa Murphy's nearby and would your family be willing to do that instead? You have to bake it yourself but they are still tasty and less of a calorie/fat load depending on what kind you get. We really like the Veggie deLite. Otherwise, here's some tips that help me: 1. Go for the thin/cracker crust --> fewer…
  • I'll give it a shot. I too am a serial attempter. (I know that's not a word but oh well) I have tried and not followed through several times before, I think because I tried to rely on myself to be motivated too much. I'm just so tired when I get home from work (even though my job involves sitting most of the day) that I…
  • We usually go with Walmart's Great Value brand lactose free milk. It's less expensive than the Lactaid brand. We occasionally buy Pure Almond's Vanilla flavor but I can't imagine having that on cereal for more than a few days in a row.
  • Lady Dorothy Sheridan Debrew
  • I borrowed one from a co-worker for a while. I liked it. I think the key to doing this is to make sure that you're getting the right size ball for your desk. The one I borrowed was too small for my desk so I ended up getting cramps in my trapezius because I was scrunching up my shoulders all the time to use my computer.…
  • Wow! Great job! I hope I can stick to it like you have.
  • 1- Orange, Blue Potatoes, folk, partly sunny, fall, 4th of July, Model T, Batteries Not Included, Brugge 2- Australia 3- Both though I'm allergic to most cats 4- Louise 5- Is having your wisdom teeth removed major? 6- Band (yes, I'm a band geek) 7- halfway inbetween? 8- David and the Gnomes, Simon's Cat (online you tube…
  • Running outside is more work than a treadmill (even if you aren't going as fast) because there are slight changes in terrain, incline, etc that your body is taking into account and compensating for. You might not be able to see them but unless you are running outside on a regulation track they are there.
  • I'm actually more interested in the fact that her parents deciding to join the party has upped the count from 8 to 15....gain of (carry the 2).....7. I knew it, you were the true story behind the sitcom "My Three Dads"! Can I have your autograph? Oooh, little cooking tip...give your finger a little slice while you're…
  • Bacon, nutella, and banana sandwich....on wheat bread even.
  • Do you have any broth based soups in the house? Eating broth soups is a really great way to satisfy your hunger but not load on the calories. They can be high in sodium but you can work on buying healthier soups later. The first few days can be tough. I would say not to stress out about the crystal light tea. If you want…
  • There are a handful of little things you can do. Sitting on an exercise ball is one. You can also do some arm lifts. Or the washington post has a nice little article. You might be able to adapt some of them to actually get work done at the same time. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/health/workout-at-work/
  • I'm back to work, but I can't complain too much, 4.5 days off, now 3 days on and then another 4 days off. The worst part for me is going to be the loooooong haul to Memorial day...YIKES!
  • I picked my goal weight based on a healthy BMI for my height (5'9"). Turns out I should weight what I weighed in high school which was 175lbs, so voila! Goal weight!
  • We both belong to a Kayaking and canoeing club. Became friends and 3 years later we're now dating.
