But if you lose 100lb on low carb, that's all water weight right? ;) I did LC a few years back, lost 40kgs (90-ish lb) and then moved onto low-cal, gained it all back on 800cals/day. PCOS and more recently coeliac diagnosis means this will ALWAYS be it for me, but honestly my body just likes cheese and bacon (and loses on…

Dodgy dream right before I woke up, so I remembered it. Managed to organise a ~$100k deal at work, all on my lonesome Day off tomorrow, so right now (work for today is over) I am officially on leave! Cat has been super-affectionate New low on the scales Why stick to 3? ;)
-
I didn't manage any loss until I combined low-carb (for the pcos) with gluten-free (for the coeliac) but am losing now, if slowly. Feel free to add me!

If you've worn it all day then you've picked up your BMR cals as well as exercise cals, and these are already built into your calorie goal. Definitely don't eat them back, and I would recommend only wearing the HRM for exercise to make figuring out your cals simpler.

(From experience) Less carbs means less immediately available energy. I always feel like where carby people eventually "hit the wall" when they run out of carb energy, low-carbers start at the wall. You get used to that, and then your stamina tends to wind up better :)

I used to get them all of the time, multiple times a month. 6 sessions of acupuncture, and I haven't had one in 12 years!
-
That's great! This is one of my first weight loss goals, lose the double chin :)
-
Good on you for joining up! What's your approach so far, and what are your average daily intake and exercise cals?
-
One of my cats took to jumping up onto my bum then my shoulders for a while.

I figure out which gives me a higher result and then test at that time, odd-smelling breath is normal but I only get odd-smelling sweat if I'm unwell. Perhaps there's something else going on at the same time?

I didn't see the bit that said anything about low-carb diets or how carbs in diet provide better fuel than other foods in diet. Excuse my ignorance, but could you please make the link for me?

Done too. You know how they reckon you can't count diet coke, coffee, tea etc as water intake because they are diuretic? (make you pee and dehydrate you) Today, I have drank perhaps 2.5L of water, peed like crazy, and now have dry lips - will have to use a lip balm. Water is a diuretic.
-
8 Glasses is recommended per day, at least 2 litres. I reckon if I can drink 6 large glasses early in the day I won't be up peeing all night ;)

PMSL (excuse the pun)

I'm in Wellywood

LOL at the above being followed by this: Mixed messages or just sarcasm? ;)

Do you mean that my half a cucumber (sans seeds) under the light of a full moon isn't going to help my weight loss???
-
Depends. Do you find that grainy stuff gives you an upset tummy or makes you listless? I turned out to be coeliac (gluten intolerant/ allergic) and once I stopped eating that stuff, I started to lose weight. But that's something that affects a small proportion of the population.

Bump

Agreed. I'm on one now and have lost 8kgs in about 10 weeks, not as good as the last time but very respectable results! If anyone tells you that it's unhealthy, that all the weight you lose is water weight (I lost 40kgs of water weight last time!!!), that your brain will eat itself due to lack of carbs, etc etc... ask for…

It's totally proportional, and genetic. When I'm big, my boobs are still way bigger in proportion (currently G cup). When I got teensy last time, I was still a DD cup.
-
Me too!
-
I'm low-carbing it too, but with a lot more to lose than you do. Feel free to add me as a friend!
-
I weigh every morning. Because my weight loss is soooo up and down, I'd get too discouraged if I never saw the downs.
-
At home, holding onto our boobs because appropriate sports bras either don't exist, or are too expensive to buy while we're losing weight! Hmmm please don't let that turn you into a peeping tom!

Off-topic, but... I've heard the above for years, while gaining weight on about 800 cals per day and exercising. While it'd be nice to believe the simplistic energy in vs energy out, it just doesn't work for some of us. After gaining 50kg eating less than net calories, I finally was diagnosed with PCOS and coeliac, and by…

Thanks heaps! Bump :)

I've been counting wine and vodka as water, that's ok right? *runs and ducks for cover*

BAHAHAHA brilliant :)

I have two cats, just turned one year old. They are both crazy :) Surfy plays fetch, less so now than when he was a kitten but he also will jump up in the air if you throw a ball over him, and bat it directly back at you. Accurate enough that you can catch it! He also sleeps on his back in the middle of the bed and if you…
