Definitely listen to the people who are posting for the first time ever and not from the long-time veterans who have been doing this for months and years and have had long term success. Seems legit.
-
Sure. That doesn't sound judgmental at all. Lol.
-
I'm probably more inclined to think, "I bet I can make a serving of that fit in my day if I wanted to," instead of judging someone else's food like that. ... But that's me.

This thread is amazing. Thank you to all the ladies who have contributed pictures to it. I aim to do the same when I have some time.

To the bolded--yes. I lived with my vegan, "clean eating" sister for about 8 months. When I started living with her, I weighed about 165; when I moved out, I weighed 185. You absolutely can get to be overweight (or even more overweight) eating a so-called "clean" diet. Granted, part of the problem was thinking, "It's GOOD…

For real, I would revisit it. Being miserable doesn't burn extra calories, you know? And I understand that dog walking and kayaking don't really feel like workouts, but it's definitely still a good chunk of activity that burns more calories than just sitting there! As a former =<1200 calorie gal (and at 5'3"), I found I…

Unless you are very sedentary, you can probably eat more than that and still lose weight. I'm guessing when you signed up, you picked MyFitnessPal's most aggressive weightloss option (losing 2 pounds/week). I know it feels like you've got a lot to lose, but you can spare your mental health a great deal by losing weight…

Early on in my logging days (2020 day streak over here) I read, "Even if you're not keeping track, your body still is." Sadly, I forget who on here said it. ... But it's so true!
-
So... When you eat dessert, do you not log it? I dont understand why it's a difficult concept that people log the food they eat--and sometimes they eat dessert... and log it.
-
Congratulations on your success so far and your healthy mental perspective on food! Like you said, it's a work in progress:)

Same. :( The second you tell me I can't have XYZ, I must--and in spades. Then the wallowing and the guilt, followed by a renewed sense of diligence/unkindness towards myself. "This time... this restrictive, wrong-headed 'diet' will work for me. This time. It's my fault this bologna mentality around food isn't working for…

If I limited myself to 1100 calories/day of "clean" food, I would have a mental breakdown... ... I know because I did. Good times. Now I eat what I want, log it, and meet my macro and calorie targets as best as I can. I logged the scotch I drank last night, too.
-
You don't have to eschew sweets to lose weight. As someone who doesn't log a lot of produce (because I don't eat much of it) but does log a lot of sweets (because I eat a lot of those), I do want dessert daily. Sometimes multiple times, daily, in fact. (And before anyone gets all... weird... I have excellent health markers…

So... You're just admitting you don't understand how forums work? It's already been pointed out that you've not said anything "new," and that others with your same point of view have been debated to the point of tedium. But we should all drop everything and debate you on the merits of your "viewpoint," even though it's…

An ongoing debate topic that was started... quite some time ago. There's plenty of time between the first post and now that you certainly could have read through and contributed meaningfully to the discussion. Congratulations on contributing instead in a "meaningful, educated, and insightful" fashion. Everyone here thanks…

Get out of here with your logic. It has no place here.

Well, we can try, at least! As long as we don't spill too much--which, of course, is alcohol abuse.

You know why you can never get a woman to pick what or where to eat? ... The last time they decided, they doomed humanity.

No. I said scotch. I mean scotch. Not that I don't like a nice rye, bourbon, or blended whiskey from time to time, too, of course. Not all whiskies are scotch, but all scotches are whisky.
-
Scotch.

Well, they should... Since they're packed with sugar...

Lord. I thought you were done hijacking this post. Didn't you just say that you were leaving? **checks** If asking you to stop derailing someone else's thread is not "very nice," then consider me a huge jerk. I, personally, consider hijacking someone else's thread not "very nice" and pretty "discouraging." So I guess now…

Is this advice for the OP...? I mean, cool story, bro, but how is this relevant to the current discussion?
-
I eat what I want. I make room for the foods I love in my day, every day, and I don't feel even a little bad about it. What kind of diet doesn't allow for booze, ice cream, pizza, etc? No diet of mine, that's what.
-
Same person. But we can all agree. Sort of. Except for when those of us who agree clearly do not. Man, the English language is hard to grasp.
-
Bravo!

Unacceptable, you two. Low carbing is the one true way to lose weight. Fall in line or else!
