people who freak out after a week of not losing weight. bodies need time to adjust and plateaus are real!

yeah that seems like a really large amount of oil just to sautee. thus, you should definitely count it. it's on your food, so it's in your mouth. LOL

one week isn't enough to denote a trend. i wouldn't change anything based on one week! You just had 4 awesome weeks before this one! if you change now, then you won't know what works and what doesn't. who knows, you could be down a pound or two tomorrow.

Yes, because many diets (like this cabbage soup one) do not teach you a thing about maintenance!
-
True, thanks for looking out. All it did for me was help me lose some water weight that came right back in two weeks!

wow you look amazing! Love those punk jeans they rock!

recently lost 8-9 lbs and i notice my clothes fitting more properly (not sausage-tight) and my face seems a touch thinner.

My 45 year old cousin recently lost 75lbs. I asked her how, she said HGH. Then she said she eats a VLCD. So, it's not the HGH. :/ I've never heard that HGH does anything just on its own. Still must eat right and exercise!

Also, once you reach your goal, your lower calorie days increase by double the cals for "maintenance" so that makes it seem like yes, i can do it forever! I seriously want to!

I tried IF 16/8, but I found that I was still not able to lose any weight. 16/8 was pretty much my normal pattern anyway so I just maintained my weight by doing this. I have heard that works for a LOT of people though, so that's awesome that you're encouraged!! I know a married couple doing IF and low carb and they're both…

I have a lot of friends who FEAR hunger. Hunger is natural. It's human. It's okay. It's healthy! It's about the only thing that tells you you're not overeating all of the time! Measure- see with your eyes what nourishment and calories you're going to get out of food. Know the serving sizes! Be real, even if it sucks right…

yeah i don't know how much "danger" there is in this diet if done for a week or two. however, it teaches nothing about keeping the weight off long term. my mom and I did this diet probably 20 years ago and we both lost weight and gained it all back. after yo-yo-ing up and down 40lbs off and on for 25 years, i can say that…

I'm in too. CW: 190 GW: 155 Got 2 walks in today for breaks at work :) good luck everyone! Any focus on health and wellness is good focus. Be patient with yourselves and think about what you can do today to improve!

I'd drop the cheat day topic entirely and ask him what he means by "Don't let my wife go too crazy on her diet". There's something underlying that comment that is more important than anything debated in this thread and open communication about THAT is the only way forward. What are his true concerns?

i ended up finding good reviews for the Moving Comfort Maia: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001B1KUS4/ref=oh_details_o03_s01_i00 wore it tonight for the first time in karate and jumping jacks and kicks were a breeze! felt nice not to feel all of that bounce during my jumping jacks and kicks! i would recommend it - and…

You're not alone! I've been working SUPER hard, have worked out 20 of the last 22 days, and lost some weight in week one, but haven't lost much at all in weeks 2 or 3 (so far) and no inches. i do however know i FEEL better, and have SO much more energy already! perhaps this is taking a while to translate into RESULTS, but…

your hunch is right. running is good at burning calories and strengthening your cardiovascular system as well as lowering your resting heart rate. however running does NOT tone. i know lots of runners who don't do any weight/resistance training and while they are all awesome at running, they are flabby. resistance training…
