you can certainly work out 6 days a week, but alternate HIIT with something else...resistance training or long walks or something else.
-
I also heard from many sources (including my dear friend who is a PhD in exercise physiology) that you should only do HIIT every other day max! 6 times a week? I don't know how you even can move haha.

One time, I tracked every single thing I ate at a potluck dinner party where i was trying to watch not to take big portions of any one thing. It ended up being 2500 calories worth of stuff! Then I thought of all the potlucks I've been to - I'm sure I almost always eat at least that at a potluck. The next day I only ate a…

Hahah! Cereal serving sizes have always messed with me. Sometimes they're as low as 2/3 of a cup! Seriously, who puts that into a bowl and goes "yup that's all i want".

Congrats OP, those inches count for even more than weight loss for improved health and looks!

Facts: Breakfast studies done in America were sponsored by General Mills (cereal company). The importance of breakfast in cognitive development of children has also been studied, NOT for weight loss for ADULTS. "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is largely a myth, and is very American. Many peoples outside…

i can't help but wonder if some "clean" eaters just profess to us all online that they eat that way but secretly eat candy or pizza or chips and don't tell! not all...but some? hahah just be honest with yourself, we are humans and not machines! not accusing anyone, i just get suspect of the ol' high horse routine.

NICE RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:)

Awesome. I just got new earrings, little dragons, they make me happy haha. And big yes to concert tickets!!!

if you use apps, try Happy Scale - shows your weight loss as a trend instead of each individual point, then you know if you're heading in the right direction.

i know it sucks to hear, but KEEP at it. two weeks is NOTHING in terms of plateau world. Plus, you did lose weight! I hear you're only at a plateau if you lose NOTHING for 3 months! So, keep it the good work OP!

Nights are the worst for so many of us. Here's what I do at night now that helps: 1) Peppermint tea - it's an appetite suppressant and the mint makes other food not taste or sound as good 2) Huge glass of water - sometimes I was simply thirsty at night because I stop carrying my water bottle around after dinner 3) 100 cal…

ALL FOODS FIT! :) Just have to balance that calorie/macro budget for your day or week (i do a weekly budget so i have really low cal days to balance out the days where I eat a ton of sushi or a cheesy quesadilla and 2 margaritas). This is the only way I don't yo-yo.

Nice! I'm trying to lose 40 by around the same time, so I know you can do it. Feel free to add me!

Hey all you lovely people from all around the world! Glad to meet you. I'm from the mile high city of Denver...happy day to ya!

I LOVE this post! I'm a big believer in self-rewards when you're working on your goals! Here are some things I have done: - Got a massage - Got a facial - Got a pedi - Bought a new article of clothing - Did a super leisurely drawn out workout instead of being hard on myself in the gym (weird reward but for me it's like -…

i suggest calorie cycling. for your size and activity level, i would guess under 2000 cal/day seems low, and your body will hold on to fat stores stubbornly. shaking it up a bit with your typical lower calorie day mixed in with some higher calorie days on the days you work out could just get the scale to budge. looks up…

I am an aerospace engineer by day, lean six sigma consultant when time allows, karaoke host, and heavy metal musician ( i play in 3 bands right now, i'm crazy).
-
OP - I have a similar situation! My partner is a lean guy, comes from a family of small/thin people whereas my whole family is short and stocky and in many cases obese. Genes do have a lot to do with it - meaning more effort if you're inclined to hold on to fat, but of course not impossible to lose weight if you are…

i do ADF too, feel free to add me or start a group!

That's awesome, and I agree, having the weekly perspective really helps me to understand my calorie budget better, daily is just too daunting for me. Would you switch to every other day because 5/2 isn't getting you the results you're after? I know people who do 5/2 to maintain (two of them are food critics so it's easy to…

How long have you been doing this? Has it been successful for you ? Thanks for sharing.
-
Some people do fast on those days, but per the Every Other Day diet book, I'm just low calorie every other day.
-
Yes, I use myfitnesspal every day. What I have ended up doing so far is eating really light most of the day on my free days, and then having one indulgent meal if I choose. I definitely don't pig out all day- i start with a sandwich on sprouted grain bread or high fiber cereal for meal 1. I find myself craving healthful…

Thanks, it sounds like our experiences are quite similar. I am still logging as well because I know that a 3000 cal day can undo the lower day efforts. It is nice to know that someone out there is doing this even though in this community, it's not very prevalent. Thank you so much for sharing, it brightened my day. I too…

In my experience, yes you'll gain 1-5 pounds any given day holding onto food and fluids so this is likely "the problem"!

I am a statistician for my living so i do want people to take into account what constitutes a trend or what is just a week or two of your body playing catch-up. You're crushing it so far. Seems like you can well afford an afternoon snack in terms of calories, too. Congratulations! And yes, always weigh yourself first thing…

Egg white omelette (1 cup liquid egg whites) in a tiny bit of oil with ham and low fat cheese topped with salsa. I feel very satisfied for under 400 cal!
