you're not the only one! when i eat at a deficit my strength goes in the toilet. but, i'm actually in the process of getting my thyroid tested, also.

i could've written this. i've been going through the same thing. i've been more strict about weighing and measuring food and it's helped a lot. i'm pretty sure i've been underestimating how much i eat.

i just found this group also. its totally awesome.

yeah. i'm already looking at vit D and iron supplements as we speak. do you have a brand that you could recommend? i'm looking at doctor's best for vitamin D. I've already pretty much gone gluten-free. i've been doing the paleo/primal way of eating for a few months and my stomach is much happier for it.

Vitamin D: 21.7 LOW Vitamin B12: 543 normal Ferritin: 44 normal Iron: 55 low end of normal thanks for the info. i'll definitely look into the supplements you suggested!!

it helped me carry 2 five-gallon bottles of water up 3 flights of stairs to my friend's house b/c they ran out of water. when i walked in the door, my mom and my friend's family all stared at me like "how did you carry all that...?". my response...."you know how you guys ask all the time why i work out as hard as i do, and…

5'3" 137lbs - i try to hit a weekly average of 1700-1800. some days as little as 1400 other days, as much as 2000. all depends on how my body feels and how much i'm working out.

Thanks for sharing this!! Love the pictures you posted! Pictures are definitely worth a thousand words. GREAT WORK!!!!

i completely agree. i've gradually reduced my rice intake over the last few months, which was really difficult at first being Korean. I am finally in a place I think I'm ready to and will be able to cut grains out of my diet completely. That's the hardest part for me since my only real sugar intake is coffee (not a sweets…

I totally hear you. I decided to go strict paleo just last week, and only had a few solid days of Paleo eating before Sandy hit. I was doing OK in my apartment but once I started staying w/ friends, I graciously ate what I was provided. Once life is someone back to normal (just got news our power finally came back on this…

i started primal eating a week or so ago....thinking i'll join you in the whole30 challenge for nov! :)
-
what she said. i started SL while at TDEE and it was great. when i started to cut, i saw a clear decrease in strength. i'm not lifting as much weight, but still getting great workouts. oh and i just started eating primally, also.
-
DAYUMMM GIRL!!! bench 135? BAD *kitten* CHICK!!!
-
all depends on how big your deficit is. cutting 500+ cals from TDEE made my lifts really weak. keep your deficit around 250 and you'll still be able to make gains in strength while still being able to cut. if you want to have a larger deficit, then you just won't be able to lift as heavy. all depends on what's important to…
