  • My 21 yr old skinny skinny cousin ate there daily- sometimes twice a day. He almost died one day when his body went into major diabetic shock. No one knew he became diabetic because he was so skinny no one thought to check. It was from the terribly unhealthy diet. He was driving when it happened also, so it was twice the…
  • Depends on what you're eating. I had to eat Mc Donald's last week in the morning so I ordered an oatmeal. But I assume you're referencing burgers and such. I would say try to avoid it only because that kind of food usually makes you want more. But if you can just have it once and not crave it all the time go for it (in…
  • If you are doing heavy lifting than this is to be expected. Your body is balancing out from building muscle and burning fat- especially since you are working out so hard 5-6 days a week. That's a lot of stress on your body, it will take time for it to adjust. However, I can understand how the number on the scale can be…
  • I felt like a fish biting onto bait when I read that title... I came right to it! lol This sounds so good.
  • To me, that is strange and certainly not normal. I personally could not handle the burden of a friend like that. To me a friend is someone who wants good things for you- and most definitely NOT sabotaging your progress. For me this "journey" is hard enough as it is, let alone having someone intentionally trying to slow me…
  • what a great feeling!!! I just experienced a similar situation last weekend. It's def. rewarding :) Great job
  • I still exercise my regular routine... It starts off uncomfortable but by the end I feel WAY better. But if it's making you sick do something light like yoga or stretching, it eases cramps believe it or not.
  • That actually sounds exactly right for an hour of working out. There could be so many reasons why you're not losing weight, what do you eat? how much do you eat? Water intake, strength training, etc. Getting an HRM is a good step though! :)
  • Totally missed it, now I regret it!!
  • I always wondered the same thing. . . I don't run on a trail so I don't pass other runners. I'd say hi once- by round 3-4 I'm trying to keep my head up and legs moving.
  • no you're not. I'm almost afraid to open posts now... the pictures plus the nasty commentary sometimes. Ridiculous.
  • I like that idea. Anything else could get so awkward. I would also throw in, I think my daughter let your daughter borrow it a few weeks ago and they just "forgot" about it... And honestly, I would hesitate to trust someone again after that. Esp. at that age I wouldn't want my daughter to think that type of friendship is…
  • I wish. I'd be super thin. Easy.
  • This could be true for ALL processed foods, not just diet soda. Again, it comes down to moderation. Food and soda is not what MAKES you fat. YOU make you fat.
  • Up until I tried it I thought I was in pretty good shape considering the extra pounds. Once I did it I couldn't bring myself to do it again. The moves aren't hard- it's the speed and intensity. I think this is best for ppl with great stamina. I'd like to give it another try once I have the strength and willpower to make…
  • That is EXACTLY how I felt about myself when I began running... i still do but I dont hide the way I used to. I wonder if people "really" think that way about "fat" girls/guys. I hope so! lol Edit: looking @ the comments... I'm SO glad I'm not the only one holding back tears!! I thought it was just me.
  • Salad, cucumbers, peanut butter, yogurt and almonds.
  • I think it depends on the shape of your face more than your body. Pixie cuts don't look good on all thin women either.
  • Nope. Success is success. Anyone who is willing to share what worked for them is generous. Nothing works for everyone, but before I take any advice I research the hell out of it.
  • While "dieting" you should have at least 1 day a week where you eat something you "want". I have chocolate everyday.. granted it is a teeny tiny piece, but it calms the craving... this way when you encounter bad foods, you dont feel the need to go crazy. Also, you are doing this for YOU... others shouldn't be bothered by…
  • Use the HRM. First, Zumba is more intense than aerobics. Second, the calorie burn that MFP gives you is an "average." It's usually way off. Once you start putting in your personal numbers and creating your own exercises MFP will calculate your personal average which will be a lot closer to the real number. Have fun with…
  • The only thing that will prevent you from reaching your goal is you. We've gotten so used to being the way we are and "accepting" it. Buying more "forgiving" clothes and ignoring the labels on our food. It took us a long time to get this way physically and mentally... it will also take a good amount of time to "un-do" it.…
  • Yes! and the TERRIBLE excuse for food they had... Where I grew up there was only one roller rink and it smelled like melting gym socks when you walked in. Lovely, fond memories :) lol I cant think of any song in particular but they always played great songs and then cut them short!!!!
  • I've noticed most ppl aren't very kind nor do they put a lot of thought into their commentaries. Hey, at least they notice! MY fam. doesnt say anything... and if it is brought up it gets degraded to, "Well, yeah- she's dieting". As if its SO easy. That's why they're all fat lol
  • Thanks for all the feedback! I did talk with him yesterday and he "wants" to be more supportive and not eat crap around me all the time. What a relief!
  • bay area!!
  • my exercise buddy is my ipod. lol
  • I've tried that, not much luck :ohwell:
