My ex-husband used to call me a b!tch, tell me how awful I was...etc. After 10 years of that, I believed him. If you allow him to talk to you like that without addressing it with him, you will believe it in yourself. Speak to him about what he said, how you feel about it and how it has affected you. Don't allow him to talk…

Doesn't look too much to me. I am 50 years old and work out 6 days a week...at least an hour a day and then take the dogs for a half hour walk. I do boxing, weight lifting, cardio and swimming as well as a couple of classes at my gym so I mix up my exercise a lot.

Bed at 10..wake up at 5 and at the gym by 6

Love your attitude! Counseling may help. This is all a big change for you

The doctor would have given you the 9 st loss as a target. The fact that you are only 3 lbs off is amazing and you should be proud of what you have done. As you lose weight, you will become more critical of your body than you were at you heaviest. I don't know why this happens, but it is so normal. Each lump and bump that…

I lost 89 lbs in 2009 thanks to MFP. I strayed and gained back about 50. This past week I have been back great guns. I have goals set ( we are doing a lot of traveling and I want to be comfortable doing it) I have found when I cut out the ice cream at night and the wine and the chips and the chocolate, I actually feel so…

Make mini goals...the big picture can be overwhelming

I'm 50...and wish I was cool. I lost 89 lbs in 2009 thanks to MFP and then got too cocky. I gained about 50 back and am now trying to refind the mindset I had then. My husband is doing this with me as well. My son is a trained chef and he also wants to lose weight so we are working on this together. I miss red wine....lots…

I love wine too. Unfortunately, it isn't good to drink every night. I have cut it out unless there is a social occaision with friends. I found I could open a bottle and polish it off no problem. Instead, I will put bubbly water in a wine glass and drink that or have some herbal tea. Both are good substitutions and you…

My name is Vicky but lots of people hear Becky when I say my name ... didn't think I had a speech impediment

The gym I go to has some very fit people in it. There are triathletes, and professional fitness people. I went in weighing over 300 lbs. If they judge me, that is their problem. I do know that I kick my own butt in the gym. I kick it to a point that I was told I was an athlete ( sure don't look it) and I have had lots of…

Get the sweets out of the house. Use fruit or veggies like sweet potatoes to gix yourself that fix. After about a week of not eating sweets, you won't have that craving anymore. This is coming from someone who had to have ice cream or cookies every night

I struggle with this too as my friends and I all enjoy a glass or few of wine. You can try by alternating a large glass of water with each glass of wine. ( or so I have been told)

I looked at your food diary and see quite a few days of eating out and drinking wine...both are killers for losing weight. Restauarnat and processed foods are generally higher in sodium. Wine plays havoc with my weight

No excuses... At my gym, there is a blind woman who works out who comes in with a friend. She is at the gym often. I was doing some lane swimming on the weekend and a man came in on crutches. He got into the water and proceeded to swim lanes as well. and finally...if you need real inspiration...check out fitnessunarmed.com…

Exercise doesn't have to be done in a gym. Do you like playing volleyball? basketball? Do you like dancing? Do you like hiking? I was on a dragon boat team and loved it. There was a great team spirit and what an awesome workout each week! Personally I love going to the gym. I go early in the morning when there is only a…

My husband and I lived apart when we were dating, then engaged and 2 months into our marriage.... a total of a year and 9 months. He lived near Atlanta and I lived near Toronto. There was always time and effort made (by both of us) for a quick call, text or email. I do think it is important for couples to keep up with even…

Tanks for this thread...it reminds me that I do have it in me

I have to agree with the morning thing. I have a million excuses after work why I can't exercise. But if I get up and do it, it's done for the day

Want a Canadian story?? This was actually in the news. How much more Canadian can you get? Moose injures Mountie in clash of Canadian icons A B.C. Mountie is tending to a bruised shoulder after going toe-to-hoof with a fellow icon of Canadian culture Thursday morning. The Prince George RCMP officer was typing a report in…

It sounds like your first date was a bit of a dud....why do you want a second one? Usually people are on best behaviour on a first date ..but if she was watching the TV and not participating in the conversation too much...why would you want to be with her? I can use the platitude about being like a bus ...there is one…

My son used to get bullied in high school. One day he had enough and bounced the bully's head off of a desk. Needless to say he was suspended for a couple of days, but the bully was suspended for longer, had to write a letter of apology and never bothered my son again. Sometimes, you just have to show that you aren't going…

My kids were 10 and 8 when we split up. Unfortunately my ex did the same kind of things. Badmouthing me to the kids when they wentt o visit him. He put me down for years. They would come home and question me and I would say,"You live with me, you know how I am." I never , ever put him down. I would encourage them to spend…

This morning after my work out, I had a left over turkey burger patty...no bun...no nothing else. It kept me full until lunch. Not what I normally would have had...but it worked
