Up until 3 weeks ago I used to eat 1100-1200 cal/day and weigh every Sunday morning. Since upping my calories I have not weighed myself and now eat 1700-2000 cal/day depending on my work out (Ive substituted some of my spinning classes for weights). I am currently in week 4 and have not measured or weighed myself yet (I…

Walnuts and almonds are great (raw not salted or roasted). Easy to snack on and put in oatmeal, yogurt, etc. I keep almonds in the car at all times for snacking on the way to the gym or whenever I need to. 23 almonds = 1 oz. 14 Walnuts = 190 calories. Both have healthy fats too. Pistachios are great too 30 = 100 calories.…

Some great sources of protein (other than chicken and other low fat meats) is cottage cheese, GREEK yogurt, endamame, and nuts, nuts nuts ! Nuts are high in clories but great sources of protein and healthy fats. The best are almonds and walnuts. Just dont overdo it.

Actually, I respectfully disagree :) I do Pump about 2x a week as well and it can be an intense weight class if YOU are willing to increase your weight. You should be gasping at the end of each set (because the choreography makes it a cardio workout as well). If your heart rate is not up from the squats and clean &…

Have you lost any inches?

That's great! You aren't eating your exercise calories too?
-
That's funny because I have increased my calories from 1200 to 1700 -1800 about 2 weeks ago, and I have felt like i could sleep at my desk every day. Is this typical because of the increased food? Im assuming this will taper off.....

NUTS, NUTS, NUTS! Great source of protein and healthy fats. Almonds, walnuts and pistachios are your best choices. I also love non-fat greek yogurt. 15-18 g protein per 2/3 cup.

I have ran in several races including half and full marathons. Make sure your shoes are not worn or more than 6 mths old. Take the week off. Ice them after every run. Stretch them and find exercises on the web you can do. also, massage them. It will hurt but it works

31prv, Thanks for your advice. I have been eating 1200 cal, doing weights and spinning 5-6 x a week, and I eat SO clean it makes my friends sick  I plan to up my calories starting tomorrow - all due to this blog ! Im worried to gain weight but I know it's part of it. How much will I gain before I lose? Im 37, 5'5"…

That's great EbayMommy! Im hoping you have your PB this marathon! So, to be clear, when you upped your calories, you gained a bit at first? I shouldn't be too worried when I weigh myself next weekend and the scale is up? Maybe I should eat more than 1500 cal? Maybe aim for 1600 or 1700...

Hi Ladies, I just cant believe the success stories while eating 1500 - 2000 + calories! It baffles me. I have never eaten that much in my life. I am 5' 5" and 150lbs, 37 yrs old. I have been eating 1200 calories for a few years and exercise religiously 5-6 x a week doing spinning or heavy weights. I have also ran 3…

Dear Bushidomama, Were you eating 1400 cal and then just jumped to 1800? I hear that doing that, not gradually, can cause weight gain. Im a currently eating 1200 cal/day, exercise hard 5-6 x a week. No weight loss. I am going to up my calories to about 1500/day next week but Im nervous. Thoughts? Thanks :)
-
Thanks Tabinmaine. How many calories would you suggest? Im 5'5", 37 years old and weigh 150lbs. I exercise 5x a week at least. Im thinking around 1500? Thanks

I am eating 1200 calories, work out hard 5x a week, and cannot fathom eating 1800 calories a day!! I just dont see how eating that much can help me lose weight??? Im scared to try because I dont want to gain any weight (although I havent lost any either) in a long time. [I do heavy weights, cardio and spinning classes]

There is a great product found at running stores called GLIDE. You can use it anywhere on your body, including feet. It's about $10

lmonds are one of the best snacks to eat. Healthy fats!! Just do not over indulge - 12 - 15 almonds are plenty.

How many calories were you eating? Exercise?
-
Just a question: have you guys been eating your 1200 calories/day AND eating your exercise calories? It seems that no one has the answer.....
-
So I guess the next question is: how many calories (if not the 1200 that MFP recommends) does she have to eat? 1500?
