  • Hi there!! I will be doing week 6 day 2 a little later today and I am really enjoying the program. I have found the continued running is so much easier for me than the stop and start intervals. Once I get past that first 5 minutes and into a groove I can keep going much easier than the on and off again. This week I started…
  • Hello everyone!!! I am on week 6 day 2 and LOVING the program. I was never a runner before at any point in my life but this program has changed all of that. Now I actually look forward to running. Crazy!! I thought the first few weeks of the program were the hardest as I got acclimated to running. Somewhere around the end…
  • I just bring my phone and some earphones. I did just buy a collapsible water bottle that clips on and holds a small amount so I can take it with me on the longer runs on the really hot/high humidity days but I haven't had to bring it yet.
  • I know how you feel! Since starting this program (well, not since starting ... maybe since week 4 or so lol) I have had so much energy and wish I could run every day! So far I've been just doing light walking with the kids on my days off (to the farm stand down the road or around the block) but I think now that I am going…
  • Hi all! I started taking it right before Memorial day after seeing that a friend of mine had lost 45 pound in a few months on it. I was skeptical but since I knew her personally and could see the results myself I decided I'd give it a try. I don't take the recommended two pills a day most days which helps to stretch how…
  • I actually did a diet plan with a similar philosophy awhile back called the Spike diet. Same idea where you can have one "cheat" day to keep your metabolism running and make it easier to stay good the rest of the week if you know you have that day to look forward too. My falling off the wagon with the diet on the weekends…
  • Ha! Sounds like we had similar weekends. I was reasonably good Saturday (even with a date night out) and then blew it Sunday. The weekends are so hard. I can stick with this so easily 5-6 days a week. I'm staying in Phase 1 until I've lost about 10 pounds no matter how long that is and then I'll go into phase 2. I am SO…
  • I'm jealous! I'd be done with Phase one Sunday if I hadn't had that three day disaster last weekend. Totally not worth it (except maybe the pizza, that was good, lol). Now I'm back on track. Day 4 and down 4 pounds. My husband and I are determined to stick it out the full 14 days this time and are going to be good this…
  • My husband and I are both doing it and loving it. It is definitely something I can stick with long term. I'm doing the DASH Diet weight loss solution plan with the two phases and am on the 4th day (down 4 pounds so far). I actually started last week but fell off the wagon for a three day weekend and had to start over. Now…
  • I totally agree...I didn't really expect this to be something people would get snarky over. It's definitely not a fad diet or magic pill. I'm still trying to get healthier and not fall back to old habits and this seems like a positive start.
  • Well, it went great the first 5 days. Then day 6 my hubby and I fell off the wagon. We had family in from out of town and made some bad food and drink choices and then wound up being off track all weekend. Oops. I felt bloated and sluggish from it too. No good. So Tuesday we woke up and decided to reapply ourselves and…
  • Thanks Ken! Good luck to you too!! And I'm a Jersey native myself... Burlington County area. Relocated to Lancaster County, PA but I'll always be a Jersey girl at heart. :)
  • It is only for two weeks that they suggest you eliminate a few food groups ... the rest of your life you include them. Fruit definitely is a healthy and important part of a regular diet. No argument there.. :) But, I do disagree there are no healthy vs. unhealthy foods. There are definitely unhealthy foods. You can fit…
  • True! I think this particular "diet" is less diet and more teaching you how to eat healthy and is something you can continue for life.
  • Sorry! I forgot to check back!! It's not a fad diet or some crazy weight loss scheme. It is more a healthy lifestyle and how we should be eating. Lean meats, veggies, lowfat dairy, etc. The National Institute of Health and American Heart Association both recommend the plan. It was originally designed to lower blood…
  • Nobody else is doing this yet? So far I'm on day 4 and it has been great. It has greatly reduced my cravings, I feel better, my stomach is starting to shrink, and I'm down 1.2 pounds (at least because I didn't weight myself until on it for a full day), and my hubby is down almost 4 pounds. It has been much easier and more…
  • Hi everyone! I just ordered the book because my husband and I decided we are going to start this plan. We both want to lose some weight and he has heart disease so it's a great diet for us. I think the first two weeks with no bread, fruit, etc will be tough but it's only two weeks and if I get the results they promise (and…
  • This. I was definitely one of those people for the longest time. When I lost the 18 pounds I lost last year on here I was logging, exercising, and drinking. I would eat very little so I could fit the drinks. No healthy at all. Sure it fit but dieting all day so I could have 500 calories of booze at night wasn't my…
  • I am doing Insanity and chose it because of the shorter duration (60 days vs. 90) and because you don't need any equipment. I absolutely LOVE it! It is fun, goes by so fast, and I feel great after (not so much during..lol). I'm doing it with my husband and we are keeping each other motivated. I just started it Tuesday and…
  • I started logging again too. I hate it but it it helps. And when I get back into exercising like I have been now I am encouraged by earning the extra calories and it helps me both keep up the exercise and the logging. I'm wearing a fitbit so the more steps the more I can eat... :) And it's funny because without the booze…
  • Congratulations to you!! I started this journey a few weeks back and stumbled a couple times but every time I did I found that it just wasn't worth it so it's getting easier and easier. The thing that has helped me most of all is that my husband and I started to do Insanity after the kids are in bed. This removed for me…
  • I totally believe that. If I look back to the times in my life where I easily lost weight or wasn't at all overweight those were the times that I wasn't drinking (back before college and then my three pregnancies). Every time I went back to it my weight goes up. Besides the empty calories it also weakens my willpower and…
  • I just stop, grab water, catch my breath, whatever...and then jump right back in. I figure the extremely fit people on the screen do this from time to time (or Shaun tells them to take a break) so it is no wonder I need to. :)
  • My husband and I just started last night. I had started it before but only made it to day 10. My husband never tried it before and I don't think he was fully prepared for how hard it works you. Looking forward to night two tonight after the kids are in bed. I'm glad we are doing it together so we can motivate each other to…
  • As for my own progress....I just need to keep reading the book. I have slipped a couple times (weekends get me) but each time I did I enjoyed it less while I was doing it and was angrier at myself the next day. I haven't had anything since Sunday and I'm hopefull I can continue on from here and stay on the right path. What…
  • Good luck to you!! Feel free to add me as a friend if you want some support!
  • Thank you so much for the book recommendations and the website. I'll definitely check them out. I actually read Drinking a love story many years back and LOVED it. Great book. It didn't make me stop drinking at that time but it definitely is powerful.
  • I totally agree...I read the eating one after the drinking one and hated it. Some stuff he said made sense but a lot of it was the drinking book rehashed and didn't ring true to me when applied to food. Especially the meat part...I love meat. :)
  • Hi there! I just accepted your friend request! This isn't a formal group although I have to say I am blown away by the support I've found through this post and by how many of us are in the same boat. It really helps to know you aren't alone and to have others with you. And yes...starting out reading the book I wasn't sold…
  • Hey! I'm right there with you!! I'm not sure this is forever either but I do know that I need to take a good long break and get away from the cycle I was in and get this weight off me. I know if I have a drink anytime soon I'll fall right back into that pattern and I'm not willing to let that happen. And it's definitely…
