  • Finally back at it. Ran 3.7 miles - trails and pavement. trails were sloppy and slow but a good workout, was able to get a rhythm on the pavement. Angie - I use map my run, only the website though (don't have a device that can use the app). Coolhand, I saw you linked the endomondo and run keeper - what are the…

  • So - only 1 workout in the last week but I finished rebuilding and restoring an outdoor wood playset, completed 90% of spring yard maintenance and cleaned/organized inside. Still working on organizing for a garage sale on saturday and family coming in from out of town tonight so I don't know if I'll get a workout in before…

  • Yes, better to take a break from running than to risk further damage, I hope it heals quickly. *edited to show quote brackets

  • Good job! - I started mid - November on MFP, started with watching food and light workouts, mid december started with heavier workouts. Busy week off work doing home/yard maintenance so I haven't been working out but have been very active, lost more weight this week than any other week so far. I'll start back with checking…

  • Rest day today. It's going to be a busy weekend - I'll fit in workouts but won't be here to post. Have a great weekend everyone. coolhand - I knew you had lost 50 lbs but just realized that you've lost it since January! Excellent!

  • ran 3.5 miles again. i really thought i was going to beat my time from the other night but didn't. I feel like I'm going at a good pace then I see my shadow is going so slow - maybe there's an optical illusion making it look slower (i wish)

  • Interesting, I hadn't thought about joining a club but may think about it after looking at this. Thanks.
  • I've been busy with a DIY project at home and haven't been on the computer much but still fitting in a few workouts and eating well. Last night ran 3.5 miles, plan to bike 45 min tonight.

  • Thanks! I changed my Y membership from individual to family so that I can use their child care, this will likely make bedtimes later but that's bound to happen with more daylight anyway. 40 min on the treadmill with intervals (jogging / running intervals) - on the treadmill I can't mentally keep the same pace for longer…

  • Ugh, another unplanned day off. I need to readjust my schedule so that I can get more workouts in - this thread is helping me stay motivated though and I will find the time this week!

  • 60 minutes on the bike trainer followed by a little bit of core and upper body strength. Made it a very late night but really needed a good sweat.

  • I love chipotle! - except for the calories and price. We don't go as often as we used to but I've always found that their portions easily make 2 meals - even when I overate. So for 2 portions the calories and price aren't too bad (for eating out). I have changed from the burrito to soft tacos so that I'm skipping the rice…
  • 30 min arc trainer w/ intervals, 15 min rowing at the gym then 35 min on the bike trainer and core strength at home.

  • I wear knee braces when I run then ice and take an anti-inflammatory after the run. My knees haven't hurt recently but I'll still continue to do this until I lose more weight. My dr. said that for every pound you weigh it's 3 lbs of pressure on your joints (high impact exercise, of course).
  • i've found some good deals at 6pm.com - it's the discount site for zappos. Things go fast so if you see something you like and don't buy it don't be surprised if it's not in your size the next time you check. Just don't buy the things I want!
  • 4.5 mile walk on Sunday - nothing yesterday. Today is my 2nd day home from work with a sick baby & I was feeling run down yesterday. Feeling OK today so I hope I can get a workout in after kids are in bed tonight. I borrowed the insanity program from a friend so I'm planning to start that as soon as I can.

  • Hi, adrian_indy!
  • Another unplanned rest day yesterday (walk during lunch break) but made up for it today: 45 min arc trainer, 13 min intense rowing and 30 min yoga.

  • Thanks, that first 20 minute run took everything I had. I'm thankful for the C25K program, I certainly would have overtrained and hated running if I had done it on my own.

  • Thanks, everyone. It is sufficiently wet and gets a good reading in the begining. I'll try to wash it as I don't do that often enough and I'll check to see if the starp is too loose (it feels like it fits fine but may be a bit loose for running).
  • Woohoo - jogged 3 miles without any walking breaks! It took me 38 min - excluding time and distance for warm-up/cool-down. I had planned to do C25K wk7d2 but felt pretty good so I just went for the 3 miles. I'm pretty sure that's the furthest I've run without any walking breaks. I know I took walking breaks during my…

  • I know fitting in exercise can be difficult, it's difficult for me with only 2 kids, not 4. At least it used to be difficult to fit it in, after a few months of making it a priority it's easier to find time for it (& I feel so much better). You don't have to start with long or intense workouts - start by taking a short…
