It doesn't taste like pure avocado.Tastes like avocado mixed with lemon juice.
-
Salted butter. Margarine is gross.

At a restaurant I used to work at we used to make roasted vegetable wraps with pesto Mayo... They were so good. Veggies included squash, peppers, onions, mushrooms... Whatever was around
-
I just added olive oil to mine with a heap of red onions and green peppers (diced), salt and pepper, and Mrs. Dash. Put it in a sundried tomato tortilla.

Yummy!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've decided on: half the steak (because I can't afford to buy it too much) with an egg to replace the other half, garlic and herb roasted (with butter) baby potatoes and steamed mixed veggies.
-
tonight it will be a greek-style omelette with green onions, mushrooms, kalamata olives, and feta with baby colourful potatoes. Yum!

I was put on it to help with weight loss because I have a hormonal imbalance that makes it difficult. I find that when taken in conjunction with healthy eating I do lose more (because with the imbalance I can gain even eating 1000-1100 calories per day). That being said, I never found it to affect my appetite.
-
I looooove my Nutribullet. It's worth the 100$ price tag, IMO.
-
I never said you need to eat 5 times a day. I said that is what *I* eat. And what I want to call them is snack!
-
Thanks for all of the ideas everyone! :)
-
By "snack" I am referring to two meals out of the 5 I eat per day. MFP calls them snack, so I do too. They are actually meals, but I ones I don't want to do much preparation or cooking for.
-
That was not what I was hoping to hear. :( But better to be safe than sorry--I will have to try to be more careful next time. Thanks!
-
Good point! They do sell individual CANNED hummus here--and those are on the pantry shelf. These aren't canned, but in the little plastic containers. I am hoping they are still good because they cost me 6$ and it was a silly mistake. They were cold when I bought them...

I once did a program where I did not count a single calorie for any: lean meats, fat-free dairy products, most grains, all fruits and vegetables, one serving of potatoes or pasta or rice (the whole grain kind), eggs (clearly in moderation), beans and legumes, and two servings of oil. I lost 100 pounds in less than a year…

Really? Well, I for one love Subway (including the smell...the smell!!!!)
-
I don't think anyone was saying that. What the point was is that you can't blame Jared when you aren't listening to him to begin with. Clearly there is something wrong with OP's sub...I get light mayo and cheese (sometimes extra cheese) and mine never goes over 500 cals.
-
Yes, that's very true- Jared never got the cheese. He probably also didn't eat the chipotle sauce which is full of calories! If you want a low-cal sauce go for the mustard or honey mustard. Fyi, the honey mustard sauce looks creamy and high-cal, but it really is a low-cal option. (I forget exactly but like 5-10 calories…
-
What kind of meat are you putting on the sub? Mine (according to the website) really is less than 450 calories. Edit: Also it is a good idea to double check for things like this because different countries often have different calorie amounts. I find that when it comes to fast food places like this, Canadian places tend to…

Wow! Thanks for all of the suggestions! Yeah, I am thinking tacos might be a good idea after all, and I love quesadillas too. They might be a hit with her as well. We'll be going out a couple times, and with the make-your-own-pizza night I'm doing, I am far less panicked now about feeding this girl--Now that I have all…

I don`t like iced too much. My favourite hot tea is king cole orange pekoe.

I think it is always good to have vegetables and protein at a meal. Not necessarily no carbs--I actually eat quite a few carbs. But to JUST eat cereal and milk for dinner on a regular basis just sounds terribly unbalanced. There are some people here who just focus on quantity of calories, and it is absolutely true that…
-
I would steer clear of fat-free. I use 1%, and it is great. A 1/2 cup is only 100 calories and there are 15 grams of protein in it (in my brand anyway). It is really versatile as well. A lot of people eat it sweetened with fruit. I prefer to add it to savoury dishes. Tonight I am putting it in with my enchilada filling.
-
Never tried seitan before...might have to check that out. She doesn't know how to cook yet, so that is all on my shouldars for now.
-
Oh yeah, might give the tacos a try too. Only thing is, I am not a huge fan of fake meat...I found it has a weird taste and texture, and nasty after taste, but I can do some veggie burgers, so maybe I'll make my own ground meat with veggie burgers I like.
-
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! (And I am open to more too, if anyone has them). She is 14, btw, but with very child-like, non-adventurous tastes. Like I said, she won't eat a bean, so that greatly restricts my options, but that veggie cheesy mac-and-cheese looks wonderful! Also I might try to make a soup too because…

I use the Nutribullet which I just bought from Walmart a few weeks ago for 98$ (probably cheaper in the USA because everything else seems to be). It is single serving, but comes with 3 cups (2 are smaller than the main one) and it is very powerful. I use it everyday, and I looooove it!

Lunch today was a tilapia filet on top of brown rice with a side of grape tomatoes (and catalina dressing on the tomatoes).
