My two low points: One eating so much junk until I felt my stomach "tear" and it hurt for about 1-2 years after that. And the second was a more recent one: 2 medium pizzas in one sitting (yep...I'm pathetic....)

I have a late supper at 2 am due to my work schedule. Mine will be mixed veggies (cauliflower, broccoli, carrot, onions, mushrooms, bean sprouts) served over brown rice with cashews

I'll check out that book! I am thinking of making this a yearly activity, but haven't started it yet. Still trying to get on track with paleo. Trying hard, but not quite there yet.

I've actually never dated anyone before *sigh*. But would consider going 9 years in either direction. I think I would be more compatible with someone younger though because a) I have less experience than the vast majority of people my age and b) I am quite immature in many respects (the no experience, still in school, etc)…

I agree! Leaving it out for two days might be a problem, but two hours?! Nah! Not to mention, I buy mine room temperature on a shelf from the grocery store.

Different things work for different people. I work best splitting up my daily calories into smaller meals throughout the day. I would go nuts with 2 meals. So I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner with snacks in between (more like 5-6 smaller meals a day).

Not sure about a dog--some need more attention than others too--but I work full time and go to school, and I have four cats, 2 gerbils, and a hamster. I love all my pets, and they get lots of love and attention. I think I would be super lonely without them.

I am SO sorry that that made me chuckle. lol :(

And DEFINITELY don't worry if it is from something you caught yourself. That has to be the most unprocessed thing you can possibly eat! I don't know how accurate MFP is, but even if it does have naturally occurring sodium, it wouldn't be bad for you. We all need some sodium. The best way not to go overboard is by avoiding…

Anyone here know what the scientific difference is between long chain fatty acids and medium chain fatty acids and how they impact our health when we consume them? I could google yes, but may as well keep the discussion flowing for others who might have the same question lol. What is found in fat like bacon grease which I…

"canola is VERY prolific and is impossible to contain in just the intended fields." Yep, we learned this in my environmental science class at university...almost impossible to say that organic canola oil is actually completely organic.

Falling down ONE step (not that I like to admit it, but it was ONE FREAKING step!) and severely spraining both of my ankles. Ligaments completely torn on both. Needed an ambulance ride, and couldn't walk properly for months. Terrible injury but definitely a stupid one (because...it was one stupid step.....*sigh*) Can still…

Tonight supper will consist of: pepper steak, sauerkraut, roasted cauliflower, roasted beets

I guess the consensus is: freeze them. Okay, I will. Leave 3 sets or and freeze the rest. To the person who asked why I would want them eight days in a row: ummmmmm because they're meatballs? And when you don't have money to pay all your rent sometimes you have to eat things 8 days in a row. Would be nice to have more…

Thanks for all the new ideas!! Getting excited about my month of green peppers

I thought so but I can replace the pasta with spaghetti squash... Still sounds like a good recipe!!!
-
Mmmmm I will leave the rice out and try this for sure!!!

Thanks for all the serious ideas. Welcoming others as well. Bad thing is that I don't have a deep freeze, but I can still freeze some of them
-
Very insightful... Thanks for the tip...

Thanks for the ideas! I should say that I never refrigerate anything at work (not even when I took frozen stuff...it all came to my desk...too many lunch thieves!) Tomorrow I am having a large spinach salad with roast chicken, 1/2 an avocado, 1 hard boiled egg, orange pepper, purple onion, and grape tomatoes with a…

I think what I like about Paleo (and similar ways of eating) is that they aren't temporary diets, but something that you can adhere to for the rest of your life. That is what I need: a lifestyle change, not a quick fix fad diet that isn't sustainable. So might be hard work at first, but should be well worth it in the end.

Grains will be a HUGE one for me, so maybe I should work on that first. I was vegetarian for half my life, so I depended on grains a lot during those years. Edit: though clearly since I have 150 pounds to lose, I wasn't a healthy vegetarian!....

Thanks for the replies! That's interesting--I was going to use the whole30 as a starting platform for my entry into paleo, but if you think that might be too difficult perhaps I will rethink that idea. I was also planning on going paleo (with Whole30) next month rather than immediately, but I am starting to get so excited…

I guess if I would have read a few posts down I would've noticed that someone recently posted about this. Haha *off to read that thread*

I love walnuts that are still in the shell. (The chopped bagged ones have a yucky after taste). They take a long time to crack open and extract too (especially if you're a weakling like me), so you can spend awhile eating them without overeating them.

Tonight mine is a chicken fajita: leftover skinless rotisserie chicken, orange pepper, 1/2 onion, with mushroom sauteed together with chunky salsa. Ideally it will be on a sun dried tomato tortilla which I have in my fridge, but if its age caught up to it by the time I got for it, I will be having deconstructed fajitas…

Herbal tea? Green tea? I love water so I don't mind drinking that, but if I'm in the mood for something different tea is my next in line.

I got a starter kit from Walmart when I first moved into my own apartment a couple years ago. It came with two pots, a pan, and several utensils. Cost 20$ and definitely worth the money.

Quinoa is definitely the healthier option since couscous is a type of wheat pasta (usually white unless you specifically get whole wheat). Personally I HATE the texture of couscous, though I might like Israeli couscous which is bigger...haven't tried that one before.
