  • That sounds like a mini binge. Log it, learn from it and move on. I've learned after many binges (small or large) how empty and unsatisfied it leaves me feeling. I can now catch myself and make that quick decision that the calories aren't worth spending on that food. When they are worth it, I enjoy it to the fullest and…
  • Motion is lotion. Move. Do what you can and keep doing it. Progress may be excruciatingly slow, but it will come. Anemia, fatigue, nerve pain and dizziness made it tough at first, but it's easier now for me. No excuses. You have to be tough with yourself.
  • To add friends from the mobile app, you have to exit the Community forums, click on Friends, then click the "+" in the upper left. Select invite by email, then type the username. There doesn't seem to be a way to view people's profiles from the forums.
  • @drainqueen‌ You're off to a good start. I totally understand not wanting to shop for clothes. It's a frustrating experience and it makes you feel like you're accepting that you'll stay heavy. Buy enough that you'll feel comfortable going out and so that you can feel the change as you lose weight. When my clothes begin to…
  • Thank you. I'm glad I started both right away. I'm sorry you have chronic bursitis. Shoulder pain is not fun. I'm impressed with Rozie's food prep skills too! Way to go!
  • I'm struggling to follow along on my phone, but I hope to get to know everyone after a while of reading so that I can remember who I'm replying to by the time I scroll down to the comment box at the bottom. The alternative is to reply to you all individually, but that doesn't seem to be the norm for this thread. I somehow…
  • @kah68 Thank you for the welcome. :) you'll hear more about the Zebster as he's my regular walking buddy. @NK1112‌ I'm envious of your access to Concord grapes. They're so delicious if you can find them. @mnwalkingqueen‌ I'm sorry you're dealing with car problems. They can really add stress to your life. :( @susan2396‌ I…
  • Hi! I just discovered this thread. What a great idea. I'd love to participate. I don't know what you can see on my profile, so I'll just tell you where I'm at. I've got about 165# to lose, not counting the 15 I've lost already. I used to be really active, but health issues have made me really sedentary. I'm slowly fighting…
  • That's the best description of the reality of it that I've seen yet.
  • I've done both WW online and MFP and lost significant amounts with both. I believe that both encourage healthy eating if you are honest with yourself and don't fudge the numbers. I found that with the way WW calculated points, I could eat more if I chose lower fat, higher fiber foods. Complex carbs vs refined sugar, etc.…
  • I used to get hungry after workouts, but I actually lose appetite for an hour or so after working out now and never do get super strong hunger. I make sure I eat protein rich foods and monitor amount via MFP from the meals I log. I avoid simple carbs like processed sugar, white bread, etc because they cause spikes in blood…
  • MapMyWalk is the difference. The data imported from MapMyWalk is logged as all active minutes, even if you had some stops along the way.
  • Please add me. I'm on the iPhone app and can't figure out how to add any of you from the app.
  • That's exactly the amount I have to lose as well. 10lb down so far. :) I'd love more friends here.
  • Awesome job! Keep up the good work! :)
  • I log it because its sustained exercise as opposed to the stop-start-stop-start that most of my daily steps consist of. It shows on the Track Exercise part of the FitBit dashboard and I can easily see a calendar view of how many of those logged cardio exercises I've done that week and month.
  • Non-diet soda is like crack to me. With Mt Dew it's an addiction. Restricting to one a day and fitting the calories in was out of the question. What has worked for me is to restrict myself to only water at work where it's easier to be successful. At home I drink flavored waters, water with the flavor drops, iced tea or…
  • I've got 170 to lose and have lost 10 already. Feel free to add me. I use an activity tracker to set and meet goals and I make sure to log everything. It keeps me honest. :)
  • I use the FitBit One and I use it mainly for tracking steps and stairs (hills). It allows me to set goals that I can meet even when I'm not going to the gym everyday. I find that I get more activity in each day when I work to meet those goals. The app syncs well with MFP and is very user friendly.
  • I'm late on this, but Noone has mentioned this, so I'll reply. I don't manually log walks. I track them in MapMyWalk, which syncs with MFP, which then syncs with FitBit. I do manually add other cardio, such as time on the elliptical or treadmill, but I add it to MFP and let it sync with FitBit. It doesn't change steps, but…
  • I've had both and like the battery in the zip. It's replaceable and lasts about 3 months. The one requires recharging, but it's not every day. I get a week or two from mine. The one tracks stairs/ hills and it gives me an extra way to evaluate the effort I've put in each day. I have the one now and have come to rely on the…

  • Wheat breads almost always have more fat than white bread.
