This is so embarrassing, but what the heck. This song is not a LIFE motivating song (I keep those to myself), but it does inspire me to push a little harder when I hear it at the gym.... I don't know why. It just makes me feel like a the spotlight is on me, and I can do anything. Or whatever. "Firework" by Katy Perry Do…

2 chocolate chip cookies. Woo hoo! But, hey, I didn't get the donut I wanted yesterday.

I don't like to eat once-sentient things. It used to be almost necessary, but with advancements in technology and transportation, it's no longer necessary. If I can live a healthy life without killing an animal, that's what I'll do.

I AM SO READY! But, yeah.... I used to eat pizza every Sunday, during the Chicago Bears games. Don't know what I'll substitue for it this season. Maybe Subway? Nothing else sounds as fun/appropriate as pizza on football Sundays. :*(

I've tried adding chocolate protein powder (Isopure 100) to my hot and cold coffee. It was pretty gross in the hot coffee, and okay in the iced coffe (but didn't mix very well, so I ate most of it with a spoon, after it stuck to the bottom/sides of the glass). So, yeah, I don't do it... I just try to chug it with milk or I…

LOL So Did I!

Oh, dang... misread this. Thought it was "Dunkin Donut" diet! Sigh. The starvation mirages have begun.

Works well for vegetarians, like me. :)

Yeah.... wow. I don't know what to say, except that, you know... dorritos, peanut butter m&m's, large beer, chocolate chip cookies... none of this is real food and all of it is high calorie. Of course cutting this stuff out of your diet is possible so of course it's possible not to eat 6,000 calories per day. Glad you're…
Thanks for the constructive advice. Sorry to the poster who mentioned it's in the FAQs. God, you're obnoxious.
That response was obnoxious! Goodness, wellbert answered the question - just also pointed out that it's in the FAQ, where many common questions are located. You get your answer and have to reply…

"5) "Women just NEED personal trainers. They never lift as much as they should, and if they do, they certainly don't finish all the reps. If you really want to be skinny, you need a trainer." Holy Sexism, Batman! Total sales pitch. And a bad one, at that. Not to mention irresponsible.

I drink coffee every day and it hasn't been a problem for me. The less cream/sugar the better, of course (my latest kick is iced coffee with just a bit of cream - perfect for summertime!). I do not drink decaff coffee because it IS chemically processed - not necessarily going to cause problems, but I don't like the idea of…

Wuthering Heights was one of the first books to help develop my love of Classics, too! The Brontes were really quite incredible... I just recently read Anne Bronte's Agnes Grey (and of course I love Charlotte's Jane Eyre). I have a hard time with the classification of Wuthering Heights as a Gothic novel, though - it's much…

Just read the synopsis of God is Not Great on Amazon.com - looks interesting! Added it to my wish list. Have you read "The Good Book: A Humanist Bible" ??
-
I would also say "The Good Book: A Humanist Bible" by A.C Grayling because it's based on factual history and philosophy, rather than mythology/opinion. And because its primary purpose is to inspire people to live "good" lives - to be kind, decent, and compassionate. As far as Bible's or philosphical texts go - I think this…

Perks was my choice as well! Such an incredible book. I loved Lolita, too. Unbelievably well-written and a fascinating study of certain aspects of the human psyche.

Wasn't required reading at my school (the only Steinbeck we read was Of Mice & Men). It is an amazing book, though. One of my favorites. His East of Eden is also incredible!

One of my favorites!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky I've read it 5 or 6 times since it was published in the 90s (I read it every couple years). It just speaks to me - and, as I grow older, it speaks to me in new and different ways, and for different reasons, each time I re-visit it. It's the first book that ever allowed…

I prefer some kind of structure, but I do like to mix things up within the structure. I did three rounds of p90x, which was 90 days of structured exercises, but the workouts were varied. Following that, I did Jillian Michaels' Body Revolution, another 90 day, structured program - cardio and strength training falling on the…

This bill is specifically geared toward children or those people who were brought here as children. When we are kids, just how much say do we have in our parents' choices? If my parents snuck me into Canada when I was 6 years old, is that my fault? What should I have done? Do I really deserve to be booted out of the…

Elected officials used to actually be public servants. In the beginning, they didn't get paid much (if anything) to serve in congress, as President, on the Supreme Court, etc. These people served their districts/nation while also maintaining their farms, small businesses or whatever else, for income. Slowly, over the…

This - for real. I was told that the body craves more sugar, the more you have of it. So if you cut it out of your diet COMPLETELY for one week, you bring the craving way down. (Of course, the danger is in adding it back into your diet - because the more you add, the more you're going to want).
-
Yep - first time with any of the workouts that I actually was sore the next day.
-
Yeah... 9 and 10 were killer! I start 11 & 12 this week. o.O

I'm 29 and still get carded for lottery tickets and R-rated movies. I'm okay with it. :D

Agreed - change your lifestyle setting, but workout information should be specific to non-daily activity workouts. Since you do these things for a living, it's not "exercise" (above and beyond the daily routine).
